→ natasha leanne reynolds, formally knotts, was born second child to a young mother who made more than her fair share of mistakes in her life. being seventeen and pregnant a second time (the first was at fifteen) wasn't exactly ideal for the young woman and to avoid it being the talk of the town, she kept the second pregnancy a secret as best she could. knowing that she couldn't one child on her own, let alone two, she'd met a couple who hadn't been able to conceive and had essentially planned to do an adoption quietly without much paperwork. of course, that obviously wasn't the brightest way to go about things but with her being so young she wouldn't know any different. when it came time to give birth, the adoptive parents didn't shown up like they were supposed to, the only thing she could do was give her over to the state and unfortunately, they took both children from her care. after that, natasha and her sister was placed into a home where they both stayed until she was adopted by carter and ana reynolds at age two.
→ since being with the reynold's, she's gotten to experience every moment of that family feel that many had often wondered if she would. to be a child bounced around from foster home to foster home was laid out in every card in her hand but luckily she'd been dealt a great hand with the reynolds family. she was the third child of the family, first adopted, and as she grew she was ever grateful that she'd had such a large loving family. even though they weren't necessarily blood related, that meant nothing to this brown-eyed girl.
→ her dynamic in the family of six kids was often the maternal child. her knack for caring for things spread across all siblings and she was usually the first one to run over and check on a sibling when they fell when she was younger. she was very much a motherly type and stuck around her mother quite a bit. the fact that they were all a close family and didn't mind doing things together was something that she enjoyed more than anything. now she can't imagine not having family dinners on sunday.
→ her school life was neither here nor there. most of the time she was the quiet girl that sat usually in the middle of the class, taking notes like the responsible child. to her, school meant more than socialization, probably mostly because she knew she needed great grades in school in order to get into a good college. a scholarship was key for her, and because her dream career of choice didn't have specified scholarships she had to depend mostly on sports scholarships. softball was her sport of choice and when she wasn't studying in the library, she was on the field practicing her pitch.
→ as high school came to a close and college closed in, she'd decided on attending school at a community college in new orleans in order to be able to stay close to home. unlike most of her school friends, she hadn't really felt the need to stray too far from home. while her dream had been originally to become a fully credited veterinarian, upon seeing that a veterinary technician could do just about everything that a veterinarian could do, she decided to change her major and work on the smaller of the credited position. why work harder for more years at school for just a couple more perks?
→ for a couple of years in college, tasha dated a med student name ben madison whom she found herself falling hard for within the first few months of their relationship. they'd found a cheap apartment to live in together and at first things felt like they'd last. now that she looks back at it, she finds it silly to think that it could've lasted forever. towards the end of the relationship things changed, he started making silly excuses or lies didn't line up, and eventually she found out that he'd been cheating on her almost the entire second year of their relationship. the way he so easily left when she told him only showed her how much he'd never cared for her.
→ a few years ago, she and a female friend found a moderately cheap house to rent so she found herself moving in with her and her, now ex, boyfriend. at first everything seemed totally normal and cool until the same thing happened in their relationship except roles reversed. small world. now, a handful of years later, tasha and her friends ex are sharing this house after she was booted out and experiencing life in the best ways with a handful of new room mates as well!
