Found this crown on a column inside the church, of Saint Eustache. Others were photographing the altars, and soaring arches, and the restored details...and I loved the almost hidden beauty of the peeling paint!

Nan’s photo of the day…Pied de Cochon
Nan's photo of the day...Eiffel Towers everywhere!
Never a cliche…always another angle to photograph
Arrived at the Eiffle Tower in late afternoon…under rain clouds, and lead skys. I have visited it many times, and it always thrills me. For Nan, it was her first view. As an accomplished and artistic photographer, she was inspired from every angle. As the sky’s cleared…and the night sky darkened, the golden lights brushed it with magic. If you cross the river and dodge the hoards…you can frame it in so many different ways. Nan spotted an old houseboat, tied up by the edge of the river…and it sported a small replica of the Statue of Liberty, which as you may know was a gift to us from the people in France. We were able to walk down onto the quay and include her silhouette, in some of our pictures.
On the hour…we were treated to the sparkling light show which was a bit Disney-esque…but none-the-less, entertaining. We reversed course, and walked across the bridge to continue the “photo session.” Finally walking under, and through, toward the Champs de Mars, and beyond. A beautiful meal, outdoors, in a very Parisienne restaurant, completed the day.
We were so content…that we carelessly went passed our metro stop, and had to reverse course. We laughed at ourselves, all the way home. Slept like babies…I think we are finally over our jet lag. Eiffel Tower, Paris, Brocante,
Nan's photo of the day: Fruits de la mer...La Dome
La Rotonde
This is one of my favorite people-watching spots. From these lovely red chairs one can watch the world go by. One time, a young Frenchmen leaned over to ask…”Do you mind if I smoke?” How times have changed,…in France. Less smoking,…and…less dog poop!
Across the street is another well- known cafe…La Dome….famous for “fruits de mer”… Gorgeously-displayed sea food….oysters, lobsters, mussels, clams, etc. Late in the afternoon…at the lavendar hour…it is pleasant to sit at La Dome, sip Bordeaux…and wonder…if anyone works,…as all the chairs are full of contented people…and the rest of the world walks by to be viewed.
Sometimes our suitcases attract more attention than our jewelry!
Getting closer!
The adventure begins!
Almost out of little French purses…time to go back to Paris!
This beautiful little Victorian-style purse, found at the porte de Vanves flea market in France…and repurposed into a dramatic neckpiece,…is now in the possession of a lovely lady who braved the weather at the Corvallis Fall Festival.
Brocante is leaving for Paris in a few weeks to find more beautiful French treasures for you to wear!
Love Locks…from Paris See these…and more this week-end, at the Corvallis Fall Festival.
It’s September…my thoughts are turning to Paris!
