One of the actually kind of cool things that happened at Apop, i will give it up for acts like these. This was pretty entertaining.

-WARING- this got longer than i thought it would. Read on if you want.

Well, my experience at Atomic lollipop was for lack of a better word a flop. Got there hoping to buy some cool stuff from the dealers ‘room’ but when we finally found the hall where it was located (because they moved it from last years room and the event booklets they gave us didn’t have much in the way of direction) Two young mean told us it was closed. An hour and a half, an hour and a half is how long the dealers room was open for according to the event booklet 6-7:30. Needless to say i was incredibly let down but onward i went to see Elijah Wood dj in the basement of the Science centre.

After walking around looking at some science exhibits with the boyfriend we got back and it was packed. Caught a glimpse of Elijah and got a short video but its shit and you cant hear anything so I’m not posting it. Went to the new location of the bar to buy what was literally a handful of ice with a shot of vodka and a shot of coke for 5$ and a crappy beer for 5$. Downed those and went back to the car to charge our phones for Prozzak. To our surprise when we went to get back in the line up was long as hell. Waited 20 minutes to get back in past security but to our even greater surprise there was another 20 minute line up to get back down to the basement. Then what do we hear but some people talking about how there is a cap because they booked THE HEADLINING SHOW IN THE SMALLEST ROOM OF THE PLACE AND THERE WERE TOO MANY PEOPLE. Didn’t get to see one of my favourite childhood musical groups and left feeling robbed and unhappy.

“This con can only be enjoyed if you are on drugs”, Truer words were never spoken and i should’ve listened. Sure the day time stuff is family friendly and i’ll give it that there were a lot of interesting sounding panels and activities but what is with the fascination on gay/lesbian/transexual things people.. this is supposed to be a comicon-esque event.. even anime north was like this. I get yaoi and yuri stuff but half the panel’s now are just straight up “learn about lesbian sex” or something to that effect. Im not a teenager anymore, i still like to party but this con felt like it had barley any structure.

All in all, i was really disappointed but if you wanna “get fucked up at the science centre” like one young man in line said to us as he chugged a beer then this is the con for you.

On the bright side my boyfriend kept going on about how he didnt like my nisekoi cosplay but i got a bunch of compliments and a few pictures taken. Not too shabby for throwing it together in one day.

Anime North 2015 I was really upset that i didnt end up doing much or taking many pictures, i thought i got more but this was really it. The rave was fun, the random weapons were cool and the only noteworthy cosplays that warranted me getting off my ass to take a picture was the cardcaptor sakura, then theres me as nyaruko.

Saw one good panel and didnt end up buying anything, all in all.. was kind of a let down. Looking forward to Atomic lollipop 2015 at the science centre since its a huge venue and has more ‘active’ things to partake in.

Oh well~
