small backstory:
early 30s Adam who had Cain and Abel with Eve when they were in HS.
Adam and Eve get married and divorced almost immediately. Eve takes both kids cause Adam is a struggling musician.
Eventually Abel comes to live with Adam because Cain developed manic bipolar disorder and Abel seemed to be his constant primary target during episodes. He's around 12 at the time.
they end up becoming attracted to each other and tho Abel tries to push it, Adam won't let him until he eventually gives in on Abel's 17th bday.
Abel pressed closer to his dad’s side, just happy to be curled up with him surrounded by the soft yellow of the string lights hanging from the ceiling and the low sounds of the movie playing on the tv in front of them. Adam had his arm wrapped around Abel’s back, hand carding through the boy’s hair. Neither of them were really paying attention to the movie, Abel half asleep, and Adam drifting in his thoughts.
Adam looked down when Abel shifted slightly against him, hearing the boy mumble something into his chest. He smiled, nails scratching lightly against the boy’s scalp, ”What was that, kid?”
Pushing himself away slightly, so he could adjust enough to look up at his dad, a bright, tired grin on his face.
”Thanks for being my prom date, dad. Thanks for doing all of this,” He gestured around the room, at the fairy lights, the empty dinner plates, the stack of movies, “literally the best prom ever.”
About to respond, Adam paused, prom date. Shit, he was the kids prom date, technically. It was prom night and Adam had done all this because they literally couldn’t go together. But, something else hit him that he hadn’t realized -
Abel frowned at the look on his dad’s face, “Daddy?”
Blinking, he focused back in on Abel, “Fuck, sorry kid, got lost in my thoughts. I just…” He made a face, wondering if he should bring this up at all, “guess I just realized your mom and I never went to prom together, so you’re technically my first and only prom date.”
He, apparently, needn’t have worried if the excited gleam in Abel’s eyes was anything to go by. The boy pushed fully away from him, Adam’s arm moving to rest on the couch behind them as Abel moved to sit on his knees, settling his hands on Adam’s chest to balance himself.
”You and mom didn’t go to prom?” His voice was almost giddy. Adam wasn’t sure if he should be worried or not.
”Uh… no? She uhh…” He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, “She didn’t want to go, told me it was a waste of time since she was pregnant with your brother and couldn’t drink.”
He flushed, clearing his throat, looking away from his son.
”She’s an idiot.”
“Kid, she’s still your mom don’t -“ He cut himself off as Abel moved to climb into his lap, Adam’s hands coming down to rest on the boy’s hips keeping him steady when he leaned in and pressed their lips together in a heady kiss. Abel’s hands slid up from Adam’s chest, so his arms could wrap around the man’s neck, one hand threading into the older man’s hair.
When they finally pulled apart, some minutes later, Abel’s face was flushed, lips spit slick and swollen. Adam thought he might die.
“Fucking hell, kid,” Adam’s hand came up to cup Abel’s cheek, thumb tracing along the boy’s lower lip, “What the hell was that for?”
”I just get excited when I get to add things to my list,” He giggled.
“...What fucking list are you talking about?”
“The ‘Things I Got to Do With My Daddy That Mom Didn’t' list.”
Yep. He was a fucking goner. No way the kid actually had a list for that shit. If he ever doubted Abel’s attraction or affection towards him he really really shouldn’t. The kid had a way of constantly knocking him off his feet.
”Are you fucking serious? No way you actually fucking have that,” Adam stated, looking concerned. It should probably upset him, how much of a vendetta Abel had for proving himself better than his mom. Neither of them have even seen the woman for around five years now, it was getting a little ridiculous.
”I do,” Abel grinned, leaning back some, Adam’s hand falling to rest on the boy’s chest, “I also have the ‘Things I’m Better at in Bed Than Mom’ list.”
“Fucking hell, baby boy,” Adam’s hand tightened in Abel’s shirt, tugging him forward into another heated kiss, his other hand sliding down to cup the boy’s ass, squeezing. Abel moaned against Adam’s mouth.
