#MakeItYours - Country Crock #complimentary

I received another free country crock item compliments of @influenster and @countrycrock. It was perfect timing as it's the holiday season and I tend to do a lot of baking around this time. I used the #MakeItYours receipt again and added holiday colored M&M's, holiday colored chocolate chips as well as crushed potato chips. Man, these were amazing! The cookies are extremely fluffy when made with the country crock and have a wonderfully buttery flavor. The downside of using country crock is all of the fillers that are found in this product. I am moving my family into a more healthy range of living and this is not the cleanest product. I am looking forward to country crock developing a product that contained no GMO's!

#ALDILittleJourney Products

I love shopping at Aldi. They have most of what I need at a fraction of the cost of bigger grocery stores. I can choose to buy organic - still significantly cheaper than most grocery stores as they continue to expand their natural & organic options (& can get in and out super quick!)

I got way excited to test and review their baby line as an Influenster member and complimentary of Aldi! You can’t beat diapers at 15 cents a piece or organic baby food pouches for nearly 50% off of what other leading brands charge. With having twins & double of everything, this is amazing!

The snacks are very comparable to the other leading brands. While I need to honestly admit, I didn’t try the pouches, my toddlers did - and they sucked them down just as quickly as they would have a gerber or meijer brand! My almost 5 year old tore through a yogurt bits package quicker than I could take the package away from him! The snacks...amazing...and thankful that I am spending a lot less on them than I would a name brand. (I have bought several packages of snacks - yogurt bites, puffs, cheetos type snacks - beyond the complimentary packages).

What I need to write home about is the diapers and wipes. I received 2 packages of 2 sample diapers. I received a size 3 and size 4. My smaller twin could wear the 3, and both the 4. I used to cloth diaper but had succumbed to the convenience of ‘spozies about 8-10 months ago. It didn’t take long for me to panic and second guess. Yikes, the cost of disposables! I generally used the Target brand diapers during the day and the buggies at night as my girls were heavy wetters and this assured me a hold. I decided to try a diaper during the day and a diaper during the night for effectiveness. I didn’t have a single leak in 4 diapers. I bought a small package of diapers from Aldi and continued the “experiment”. Not one single leak - not a one! These diapers are a definite 12 hour protection! When i looked at the latest Target offer (buy so much at this advertised price, get this gift card) - Aldi still beat the price per diaper as well as those at Sam’s Club. I’m hooked. 15 cents a diaper...no problem! 

I’m also pretty set in my ways with wipes. I will buy the “one and done” huggies wipes for the rest of my wipes life...the thickness of the wipes and the ability to use just one (ok, or maybe 2 for a bad yucky diaper). The Aldi wipes are not the same...I will just throw that out there...however, they are extremely comparable to typical other ‘non’ one and done wipes. I actually really like the wipes as they are thicker than most and have been very effective at cleaning what i need cleaned in the least amount of wipes used. I will definitely be purchasing the wipes when my one and done stash depletes.

#ZzzQuil

I received a voxbox with a couple of samples of ZzzQuil complimentary from Influenster to test and review. I was super exited about this because I have 3 young children and this means that I don’t get nearly as much sleep as I would like and/or need. Along with the lack of sleep is the ability to turn off my mind to attempt to get to sleep before those beautiful babies wake me up. 

Overall I think that ZzzQuil was a good, effective product. When taking it before bed, I still found myself awake for a good hour or so after taking the pills rather than falling asleep pretty quickly. I was able to sleep on average 6-7 hours, although still not uninterrupted (but that can't be helped either). One of the things that I learned about ZzzQuil that I didn’t realize before is that the purpose of ZzzQuil is to help sleep. My misunderstanding was that this product was some sort of pain aid or something similar to NyQuil. I love that there is a sleep aid that is effective and doesn’t have any harmful side effects.

Country Crock - Virtual Vox

I received the country crock virtual Vox complimentary thanks to @influenster. In turn for the product, I will give an honest review. I made cookies with this natural spread. I was impressed with the light & fluffiness of the cookies. The consistency worried me when on the cookie sheet but the cookies baked into a fluffy, light cookie rather than the dense cookies I'm used to. I have also used this as a spread on my toast & like the creamy taste. I am happy with the natural ingredients in this spread, even though it's not the typical natural butter that I normally use. I found it to be a great alternative & will continue to use this in the future.

Nexxus

I received a Nexxus Voxbox complimentary of @influenster & @nexxus to test & review the products. I was instantly excited because I am always looking for some good, quality products to put into my hair. I received 3 products - shampoo, conditioner & a spray leave in conditioner. I will review each separately. Humectress/Therappe Shampoo I love, love, love the scent of this shampoo! I can't get enough of the exotic scent. The shampoo leaves me feeling clean and fresh. I love the way my hair shows body after using this product. I will definitely be purchasing in the future. Humectress/Therappe Conditioner I love the amount of body that this conditioner (when paired with the shampoo) gives me. I struggle with thick, droopy hair...this gives my hair life & gives me some hair confidence. Humectress/Therappe Spray Conditioner The one thing that I liked about this leave in conditioner was the ease at which my brush went through my hair. What I didn't enjoy was the greasy look & feel to my hair after a couple of days of use. My hair felt heavy & weighed down. I was extremely disappointed with this product. Overall, I can see myself purchasing the shampoo & regular wash out conditioner. I will not be buying the spray in conditioner in the future.

So the latest Voxbox that I received had the slogan #SagToSwag. I received 3 pampers cruisers as well as a coupon for $1.50 off a package of pampers. I received these items complimentary from @influenster to test & review. Since I have twin 8 month old girls, you can only imagine how excited I was to receive this Vox. I was a little disappointed when I saw there were only 3 diapers in there but thankful for the opportunity to test out some new products on my babies. My go to for a disposable diaper is either a Huggies or a Target brand. I have had the most success without leaks using these two brands. One of the biggest cons (& it's a big one!) is that pampers are one of the most expensive brands of diapers. You pay more for a package that has less. This is a huge deal when you are diapering twins! After testing out the product I will say that we definitely had no leaks! My daughters bum was so cute! Staying dry is my number 1 goal & She did so I was super happy! In the end, I just wish that they had a better value. My store brands & Huggies work well for my two girls & therefore I would lean more to staying with the cheaper brand.

Frosty VoxBox In a nutshell

So as usual, when I get notification of a VoxBox (complimentary box of items to be tested and reviews written) being sent my way by +Influenster I got really excited. When I previewed the box, I got even more excited about all of the products that were in this box. This is the first box that I've gotten several different items, of several different natures. One of my favorites: Candy Cane Lane Tea! I love, love, love tea...and with it being so close to Christmas, this was a perfect companion to my Christmas Cookies. Being currently pregnant, I was really excited that this was a decaffeinated tea - I wasn't concerned about drinking it at this point in my pregnancy. I certainly was not disappointed! I was also excited to get a new hair care products - especially the Eco Brush. I love eco friendly items and this was right up the alley. I couldn't wait to test it out and see if it did really save me the time and energy of blowdrying my hair and styling it at the same time. It didn't end up working as well for me, but in all fairness, I feel like it was because the brush type did not meet my hair type. I received a bristled brush and I have extremely long and thick hair. I think that having a different type of brush could be much more effective to my long, thick hair. Also included in my voxbox were two Rimmel London products. My first voxbox ever was a Rimmel London vox...this was super fun! This voxbox contained products that I never tested previously - and one that I was super excited about - the makeup remover. I love the Rimmel London products because once they are applied, they stay put. Without using a makeup remover, it's really hard to get that days worth of makeup off. When I tested this remover, I was disappointed in some cases because it didn't get the makeup off. I loved that it didn't leave me greasy or have a film coating...but it definitely didn't take all of the makeup off - Rimmel products included. I did receive an eye liner from Rimmel that I did love as well! It had a tendency to spread as my day went on, but I've yet to find any eyeliner/eye shadow that doesn't spread as my day goes on. Another beauty product that I received and was super excited about was the No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum. I was slightly disappointed in the small sample that I received in my box as I knew it was not going to be enough to give me the biggest amount of time to test and review...but the coupon that was included to purchase the item did help. For the time that I used the sample, I loved what I saw. The non greasy application was very unusual as everything I've tried in the past has been greasy and coating. I loved that my face didn't feel like it was getting a face lift, yet the appearance of lifting was evident. I can not wait to purchase my full size and test it out for an even extended period of time. A final beauty product that I was given in my voxbox that I didn't think I was going to enjoy as much as I do is the NYC Expert Last Lip Color of Sugar Plum. I'm not someone who wears lip color, but this was a perfect product for someone like me. This had a very mild color to it when applied - which complimented my other makeup but also had a really awesome moisturizing effect on my lips! I'm a huge chapstick wearer as my lips dry out often, and this product almost replaced my chapstick - it was that moisturizing! I can't wait to try other products! Finally, there were two other food items included in my voxbox - McCormick's Thyme seasoning and Fruit Vines Cherry Bites. Who doesn't love some good licorice????? I'm not normally a cherry flavored fan, but I absolutely fell in love with the flavor of these bite sized pieces. I couldn't keep my hands out of the bag. I can't wait to watch for sales on this product and stock up! As for the thyme (and any McCormick product in that case) I couldn't have asked for anything more flavorful. I made a beef barley stew and it calls for thyme. This seasoning didn't disappoint my dinner dish. I can't wait to try other things to make with my thyme. In a nutshell, AWESOME @influenster - I can't wait for my next products to test out!

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Serum

I received a sample of this product in my Frosty VoxBox - complimentary from +Influenster. I had a lot of "expectations" of this product - and most of them weren't super positive. As this is a firming and refining serum, I was expecting this product to be one that I would apply and it would either leave my skin greasy or it would leave my face feeling as if I had a film covering it - that would be tight on my skin and uncomfortable. Boy was I wrong! This serum went on very smoothly and I didn't notice any residual effects. I felt like it left my skin feeling brighter and firmer. I loved the after feel of the product - it leaves a sort of powdery substance that just made me feel soft. Granted the sample lasted a little over a week, but with the coupon that I was sent with the product, I will be purchasing a full sized sample so as to see if the long term effects are what they say. Approaching my late 30's, I'm beginning to see the aging effects and hope to be able to tame them before they get too far out of hand. The results come at a cost as a full sized bottle costs somewhere around $22 but a little goes a long way...and the long term results should be worth the cost!

Celestial Seasons - candy cane lane

As I get older, I have found a love in teas. I enjoy a green tea but love flavorful teas more. One of my favorite brands is celestial seasonings. When I received my Frost VoxBox complimentary from +Influenster, I received the decaffeinated candy cane lane tea. I was super excited to try this out as it was a peppermint base...and who doesn't love peppermint around the holidays?! Since I am extremely pregnant, I was super happy to have received the decaf tea as I knew that I could have the yummy taste of the tea without the caffeine hurting my babies. An added bonus was that my sisters and mom and I had just bake dozens of Christmas Cookies. What's better than tea with some Christmas Cookies?! I woke up one morning craving tea and cookies. I'm the only one in my family who likes "Russian Teacakes". These are a dry cookie - similar to a shortbread that has been rolled into powdered sugar. Since they weren't something we were making as a family, my mom made me a whole batch of them an I knew it was going to be the perfect morning snack. The peppermint tea complimented the dryness of the cookies making this to die for! I had 3 cookies and two cups of tea. The only sadness that I have to mention is that Candy Cane Lane tea (as noted by the title) is only available during the holiday season. As I stocked up with one box of tea, I will have to wait until upwards of November before I can sit and enjoy my peppermint morning tea. Way to go Celestial Seasonings!
