The smile spread on her lips and she dramatically placed her hand over her heart. “Are you not sure that I didn’t just take pity on you and that’s why i’m here spending so much time with you?” she asked, just teasing him. Augustus was, of course, her friend. There was very little that she wouldn’t do for him. Helping him study potions just to spend time with him was hardly work.Â
“Well, i’d rather praise you than insult you so you’re in luck.” Lily grinned, pushing some of her hair out of her face before focusing on the books in front of her. “We do actually have to study though. Can’t just….get distracted.” she pointed out. “So no distracting me, okay?”
Augustus laughed, the sound loud and clear in the dungeons that they were in, contrasting neatly with the quiet around them. “Pity?” he questioned, laughing still. “No. I won’t believe that. Not ever.”
His laughter began to die down into a chuckle and then just pure amusement as she continued on and he found himself drawn back into her. “Why, I would never distract you, Miss Evans. I am only here to take advantage of your brain and certainly not for any pleasurable time,” he told her, faux seriously, though his eyes were merry and he had to fight down a smirk.Â
