Downtown San Jose, Costa Rica Ticos & Ticas have no problem with PDA! Itās a beautiful thing on a Sunday in the park to see loverās every where. #TheWorldNeedsMoreLoveOnDisplay #CalledToCostaRica #YoungBlackExpats #PuraVida
These two are my special treat every morning & afternoon. Alex & Zuri. This was a special moment because I had alone time with Alex, the black Chico, who is so gentle and lets me pet him a lot. Zuri, the brown Chica, is possessive and demanding. She trys to take his food when I feed them treats but not this day! #TBT #PuraVida #CalledToCostaRica #YoungBlackExpats

Practicing what I Preach: In The Jungle Again. Charged my Crystal in The Ocean. Paused to view the freedom of The Howler Monkey. Had sweet bonding with a 3 month old who anointed me with baby spit, I wouldnāt rub off. Carribean Food Mouthgasms a Nap and The Night is Young yet there is no pressure as Nature serenades me in a comfy cabina. āŖ#āRestingforLaborandDelivery⬠āŖ#āReBirth⬠āŖ#āSpiritualMidWife⬠āŖ#āTransformationDOULA⬠āŖ#āPleasureLeads⬠#Expat #YoungBlackExpats #CalledToCostaRica

A good ole' fashion POT LUCK with my YOGA Friends! Only 4.5 spoke English. We still communicated and fellowshipped with stories, good food, Wine and Tequila! Life is Beautiful!!!!
It's been a year! We are better for it. The most frequently asked question is, "Why Costa Rica?" Our answer lands in the hearts and mind of ONLY those already on a Spiritual Journey in their lives. WE WERE CALLED TO COSTA RICA! As etheral as that may sound, it's our truth! The fundamental research about the this country, confirmed the rest. This year has been a shedding of so many distractions. We've learned to embrace simplicity, observe what's missing without North Amercian Entitlement and quite frankly bitching! I didn't know how rich and privaledged my ENTIRE life has been. I'm not sure The PrimaDonna will ever be dead. Both Smokey and I have a taste for luxury and the gourmet. Costa Rica certainly offers that option, minus our Epicurian pallet. The foodie frowns on the bland, repetition of rice and beans without flavor or access to food choices for our cooking at home. We consciously chose to live as close to Tico Life as possible. Now that we've had that experience, we are open to the NEXT Call. We are committed to a Life Without Borders, mind, body, spirit and more. Stay Tuned!!!
Favorite Moments: Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica We just canāt seen to get enough of this magical location. Costa Rica has many! What makes it special to us is brown people, connection & raw nature! Other beaches in Costa Rica have been raped by resorts and attract corporations that follow.
When we are here, it feels like āhomeā. As Southern people, we value family and community. So we love hearing people call out our name on our return or greeting familiar faces with a kiss and a hug. The Expat community here are diverse, different, more humble and spiritually aware.
Why arenāt we there? Itās a real jungle. Living there with the intense, days of pouring rain is the other side of beauty. All magic has a dark side. Itās natural and essential to anything worth its weight in salt. Speaking of which, the mold and breakdown of electronics and anything valuable due to the moisture is NOT a game. One has to be ready for AUTOMATIC purfication for an extended life in this special place.

I love this SIMPLE GRATITUDE!!!
This was an exciting night of Melanin in Costa Rica! Expats, Nomads & Costa Rica Natives who share connection to our "origin" and understand the power of fellowship in spiritual consciousness and purpose. We ate, shared our stories and ourselves, sang songs and poetry, then paused for intellectual diaglogue worthy to be a documentary called: "Outside of Their Boxes": Race, Culture & Connection Beyond Borders. In our circle, each of us realized that we invoked The Ancestors from our individual call to see more people who looked like us AND vibed in consciousness. It was synergy at its finest that we attracted one another, while other family would have been there had they been closer. More to come! Once again, another Vanguard Moment in my life!
This run to the Feria yielded a crop of fresh fruit and some veggies not pictured for $20. #CostaRica #PuraVida
Learning how to make Empanada's Tico style! This woman is truly a gift to my life.
Sometimes simple things activate childlike joy! Yesterday, it was the surprise we found on a simple walk. The ZOO!!! Fundazoo in Santa Ana, Costa Rica Stay tuned for Awesome video on YouTube: YoungBlackExpats
In a conversation with āotherā Expats, sometimes they ask with sheer surprise, āYou catch the bus?ā and we response in kind, āOf course!ā Mind you, I NEVER caught the bus in any US city I lived in: New Orleans, Chicago or DC. Well, maybe when I lived in VA and was to the train.
Smokey and I do it barely speaking Spanish and its become an adventure.
We are learning how some people living abroad only are interested in transferring their creature comforts and Westernized Lifestyle. Donāt get me wrong I miss some things about having a car, like dressing up in my heels and such, but the #freedom is a healthy trade-off. We walk every where else in close proximity or cab it, case by case.

I finally found out her name! Meet Alex! She and her partner come to greet us almost everyday. Alex ās temperment is sweet and directive. Most days she stomps to tell me to keep stroking her head. Today, we really connected and exchanged energy nose to nose. I am just enamored!!Ā
