So, since a couple of my posts exploded and now I have a lot of new followers, Iβll make an intro postβ¦
Hello! My name is Devon, Iβm 26.
Main blog: @corrodedcoffeen
I speak English, Spanish, Italian and Japanese. Ever since I was a kid, I liked antique stores, marble statues, chaotic and saturated book shelves, reading and writing. Instrumental music, journaling and lighting candles. Staring at the moon for a little too long at night, and while I wasnβt very fond of studying, the aesthetic of it all was always pleasant. My favorite classes in school were English, Spanish, History, Philosophy and Literature. I have ASD comorbid with ADHD (what a combo huh?), I donβt care for pronouns in the slightest, Iβm NB. People call me Dev.
It wasnβt until I was 22-ish I learned that all these things I liked were named: the Dark Academia Aesthetic. And while I never actively worked for the aesthetic, I always surrounded myself with it. At least until I graduated college and started working (from home, might I add, graduating during the pandemic was the cherry on top of everything) that I realized how much I missed the whole academical aspect of my life. And I started this side blog.
Ever since graduating Iβve been actively trying to do things to keep feeling the Dark Academia vibes because I didnβt realize how much I immersed myself in it while I was still in school.
You can find the couple of posts Iβve reblogged about Dark Academia things to do, book recs, and everything to achieve the aesthetic here.
My hobbies include: reading, writing, drawing, spacing out, playing video games (my fav ones are BOTW and FETH), walking my dog, drinking coffee or tea, sneaking into abandoned buildings, photography, going camping.
My favorite books are: Just Kids by Patti Smith, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, Looking for Alaska by John Green, The Secret History by Donna Tartt, Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury and 1984 by George Owell.
