Speedball Thoughts 😋

I feel bad posting my Head-canons for Robbie (Speedball) cause I feel like with such a small fandom and me being one of the few consistent artists for him I should stay true to his design and simpler ways of digesting him..

Truth is I draw and talk about Robbie so much its just been in my inner circles cause I am unsure how people would feel about my interpretations of him 😥

I feel like I don't find many people who appreciate his writing for most of its entirety, people I meet are often anti-penance/anti-civil war and its upsetting to me cause while i acknowledge some holes in the writing I truly find penance such a creative exploration of his character. Penance is why I fully believe Robbie is Transfem, but because no one engages with penance I often just look out of place when I explain this!!!

I embrace penance as point of their lowest, I find it so interesting how in robbies most happy moments they were more feminine, and at their worst moments, while actively self destructing, they masculinized themselves, as you can see robbie get more feminine as they heal. People call this bad writing but I just never liked cherry picking a character apart because of writing, not when so much of her writing is in civil war and thunderbolts, i cant ignore it. I think she can maintain her personality as a woman and dont see it specific to being a man.

I also have drawn less vancerobbie despite still shipping it but because I spend alot exploring the idea of how she would interact with other heros that were prevalent in her life pre penance, how would she be faced and treated by other heros after? How would he self destructive nature that lingers effect how she interacts with people? Its so interesting to think about for me!

I think about peter parker with his unconditional heart; how he could help integrate her with the f4 and avengers,

I think about tony stark being part of the reason for penance, how he would view robbie, would he feel sorry, would he use her for a public stunt? (Refer to art (just an au btw dont get butt hurt if you dislike the characterization of tony i kinda dont care))

I think about characters who were hurt by her by proxy and their resentment towards her.

Robbie gets much more fun if you dont reject half her writing #imo
