I have such pride in my job. - Richard Madden
Jake Gyllenhaal photographed by Mark Seliger.
WARM-HEARTEDLY, the man who stands near behemoth to the other, will coil an arm around his waist somewhat sneakily; tugs him into the bear-shape of his body. it’s only the pub. nobody’s gonna mind. & even if they did, is it in anyone’s agenda to piss off a man so large as he ? indicating to the numerous glossy bottles & tankards behind the bar, he settles mentally on a whiskey. it’s friday. he’s allowed.
❛ what’ll it be, kitten ? ❜
@SOLLITARY
❛ ----- sae’ ... yeah, i ... think we could be lost. ❜ BUT WHAT A wonderful place to get lost. nestled somewhere in some wintry fir forest. initially, the weekend trip had meant to be no more than a weekend trip; but it seems they might have to dedicate just a little more time to mother nature’s mercy.
he squints, clouds a watery grey above their heads, despite patches of sky blue piercing through in parts, like a patchwork quilt; a hand coming up habitually to scratch through dark brown curls. a cough.
❛ ... maps n’ i don’t mix. apparently. ❜
@OFRAID.
.. give me a murder brothers headcanon 8)
01. OSCAR IS THE more aggressive, volatile & physically domineering of the two brothers. he’s more reserved than richard & lacking in richard’s charm & seduction, but makes up for it by being ferociously protective & viciously defensive over him. in terms of imagery, oscar’s the bear, richard’s the wolf. whereas one is leaner, the other is more brawny.
02. THEY MATCH KILLING STYLES. both oscar & richard prefer to be up close to their target, & both men like to be the ones gripping them as the life fades from their eyes. a criminal fixation with causing agony, it seems, darkness perturbs their every move; each action during a hit is meticulous, plotted; they are both methodical, which allows them to further evade the law. however, both men enjoy the rush that thrills their bloodstream upon the act of murder, & take great pride in what they do. if they differ at all, it might be choice of fatality; for example, richard might prefer the knife, whereas oscar needs no tool to kill his target with; but the distinctions are few & far between. both men take sickly satisfaction at the sight of blood, & both, if the situation calls for it, have no qualms with being COVERED in it.
03. THEY DRESS WELL. both men see the importance of dressing sharply, & take most often to sporting clean cut suits wherever business shortly follows. it’s important in this business to present yourself as people who don’t fuck around. their suits are often carbon black & always bespoke, & while richard prefers to wear black button up shirts, oscar prefers white.
THEIR TRACK; sigur rós; brennisteinn.
what is oscar's favorite past time?
VARIOUS THINGS take up oscar’s time, but in all honesty, he seems to defy what people come to expect of him based on how he comes across. oscar, in all adversity, actually enjoys knitting, sewing, & the act of altering his clothes, & has been known to stitch up his friends’ clothes in case they accidentally tear them. he finds it relaxing, & is able to unwind after working for the day by doing it. it’s a good way of turning off his brain.
he also enjoys being out in the wilderness. this is perhaps oscar’s FAVOURITE place to be. regardless of where, whether he’s shrouded in trees in a thick fir forest, he’s in a serene lake in the middle of scenic nowhere, or he’s scaling the side of a mountain, oscar tries to get out into the wilds as often as possible. in accordance to his clinical lycanthropy, he finds himself far more soothed by being in the wilds; & firmly believes it to be a restorative place, as he believes that while he is out here, he is much less likely to actually harm people; thus, takes great comfort in this. were he to trust someone & love someone very deeply, he may wish to go hiking with them. this is actually a very intimate thing for oscar, & he only likes to share this with people he knows he can trust completely & wholly. while in the wilderness, you can see a clear shift in oscar, & he becomes much more fun loving ( as if he wasn’t already ), more relaxed, more genuinely happy, more at ease, & often more affectionate & loving, especially physically.
Jonathan Safran Foer, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
boom. present.
fingers flex around the surgical tool in his hold at the mention of it. really–instinct’s demanding of him to put it to use, but he’s not unaware. the stranger’s words succeed in arousing some interest; he breathes steadily, stands in place. watches as the man moves like he has the intention to pick at his leftovers. ( there will be no scraps here. his prey is always devoured entirely–drained of their life, of whatever contentment amusement might be drawn by picking the body apart. )
whiskey browns are absolutely attached to the man when he leans his weight against the brick wall. he feels contained; trapped within his own skin, and he’s itching to claw outward, to reveal just what he’s capable of. but interest draws his attention away from turning his scalpel onto the other and leaves him curious. cautious.
an absent tug at his hair, then, and he lifts his scalpel slightly before he lowers it to his side once more. ❛ i could bury it inside of you and hide it that way, ❜ he spits–though he doesn’t quite seem too intent on carrying that threat out. not when he’s admittedly wondering just who the other is–just what he does, for him to be considerably.. Casual about the situation.
( he’s breathing deeply. he wonders if it’s evident that he’s agitated. )
❛ it doesn’t seem like the first time you’ve come across a scene like this. ❜
THE SHRUG, mellifluous & waneful over him, passes with a raised brow & an expression of momentary contentment ; admittedly, the voicing of a very real, potent threat, ought really to unnerve him ; he remains poised. if you might call a wolf such. arms folding neatly over top of each other, once more, thick set, his bones cloaked in a layer of broad skin & sturdy muscle, oscar entertains the prospect, ( if only for a moment, ) that this man might be able to cause him some physical harm.
❛ -------------- ta’ put et simply, it’s not. ❜
though he knows not to trust the other, he seems unable to at least tease the idea. it goes without saying that he is absolutely captivated. as he so often is. why does he catch himself reading about people like ed gein, harold shipman, jeffrey dahmer ? because he wants to believe that there is more evil in the world than simply HIM. he wants to know who else lurks in shadow.
the chance to do some field research first hand had never came at a more opportune moment.
❛ but bein’ honest wi’, ye, i can’t say i think et’s yer first time either. y’seem to have some experience under ye. a little prowess. seem t’have been thorough. all very likely contenders fer’ a man who’s done this a couple a’ times before. or even more n’ tha’. ❜
then comes the grin. shark-like. consummatory. HUNGRY. he, of course, would not deny himself this chance. his carbon hues peer at the corpses that lay lifeless ; cold on the concrete ; & he peers back at the other.
❛ i think you n’ i are a little more similar’n y’might think. ------- except, i would never leave ‘em like this. ❜
