Elise and I went to David's memorial this afternoon. It was a good service. There had to have been like 100 people there. It was pancreatic cancer that took him. His wife, Pam, said "he didn't have a battle with cancer" and that it took him really quickly so at least he didn't suffer long.
We went to spades tonight and played with people named Tony and Stacy. They beat us both games but we all laughed a lot and that's what's really important.

Work was work.... I just don't even know what to say about it anymore.
Got Wingstop for dinner and watched several episodes of That 70s Show then cleaned my room a little. The plan is to come home tomorrow, clean out my closet and do some laundry. We'll see how that goes...

I went in at 7:15 today to train with Roy on his chargeback reports but I woke up to texts from Hutch saying I needed to work on transitions instead.

Today was the burning/renewal service at church. Just like the last few years, I want to let go of fear. The more I really think about it though, I think what I'm actually trying to give up is anxiety. I really should make a doctor's appointment...
I went to look at the house again this afternoon. I don't think it's gonna work... The kitchen is just as small as the other house but this one doesn't have any pantry space. I also don't know what I'd do with my freezer.

I got Tacodeli on my way to work this morning. Working on Saturdays can kiss my ass but at least I got good food...
After work I stayed to read to kill some time before I had to meet Debbie to see the house. It has some potential, I'm going back tomorrow to see it in the daylight.

I went to see Reggie after work. They lost their job a few weeks ago so they'll probably have to get rid of all their shit and stay with a friend. If that happens, I got dibs on the washer and dryer. But they've got an interview on Monday so hopefully that will work out.
I started reading Belgarath the Sorcerer again. I'm really gonna try to read more this year. My goal in 2 books a month.

Good news: I found another house two blocks over from the first one that I'm gonna go look at on Saturday. It's a little smaller and has fewer updates but it's also listed at $16k less so I would be able to afford to do those things myself.
Bad news: after what happened at work today, I'm seriously considering putting my house search on hold. Hutch and Michele got in a big fight. M basically admitted that she's trying to get H to quit and she's purposely excluding her from stuff. She's trying to put even more on our plate and make it impossible to succeed. At one point M said H could just do CCs, and she'd take bank accounts and me away from her. If that happened, H and I both think she'd end up getting rid of me.
Fuuuuck
Went out for drinks and appetizers with Hutch and Debbie after work. They both seemed to agree that maybe buying a house right now isn't the best plan...

It was a lazy day. I spent it reading fanfiction, watching Netflix and starting to plan my goals for 2019:
Buy a home
Make healthier choices (i.e. eat less fast food and junk, go to the gym more, drink more water, etc)
Journal daily (I'll probably continue to do that here but I might consider switching to paper. I'm going to look up some prompts in the next week or so to hopefully flesh this out.)
Complete the 365 Day Happiness Challenge (not in order)
Meditate daily (I'm gonna give Geoff's thing about meditating in your car before work another shot, or maybe at lunch)

I worked then went to dinner with Des, Dylan, Tiffany, two of her friends, Ryan, his sister, Oscar, his not-a-date and Brad at the Hilton Arlington.
After that I went to Cynthia and Johnny's. Played beer pong, cards against humanity and the voting game.

Went to church this morning, it was nearly empty. Scott was preaching a sermon centered around a poem called The Dash about living our best lives.
I went to lunch with Tomi, Reggie and Carolyn after at Barley House. They have really good venison chili, who knew!
Came home and read for a while then Elise and I played Spell Smashers. Definitely going to be a new favorite.

Work was awful. Internet and phones were down half the day and I feel like I got nothing accomplished.
Came home and played Fluxx with Elise then she went to bed and I've been reading The Holiday fanfics.

I'm probably walking away from the house tomorrow. I'm too worried about the money. I can afford it as things stand right now even by myself if I had to but if my taxes went up or the HOA went up and my roommates moved out, I'd be fucked.
I told Debbie we'd talk about it after the roof and electrical inspections but I've already made up my mind.
I'm watching The Holiday to drown my sorrows. It feels especially poignant this year, given the state of my relationship with Joshua. It has messages I needed to hear.

Had brunch with Mom and Dad this morning. It went well. Having dad over to one of our houses is definitely the best way to keep him in check.
He also told me that the money he's giving me for my down payment is a gift, not a loan. So that's a load off my shoulders and an extra $200-300 a month in my pocket.
