In John 13, Jesus does something extraordinary. He, the Master and Teacher, washes the feet of his followers. Now, it’s your turn. There are people in our diocese in need. There are homes to be painted, walls to be built, weeds to be pulled, fences to be mended. You are invited to serve as Jesus did. You are invited to make a difference in the lives of those who live down the road, around the corner, and next door.

Massachusetts after-school program binds children to church

A little after 3 p.m. on a Thursday, children in grades three through eight begin dashing through the doorway of an old red brick convent behind St. Mary’s Church in Waltham, Mass., having finished their days at nearby public schools. Lugging backpacks and wearing shorts and T-shirts, they have arrived for religious education — although you wouldn’t know it, just by looking at them during the next couple of hours.
