So, depression and self-harm are not "cute" or "trendy". Recently, I've come across posts where mental disorders are romanticised as if it's a good and "cool" experience. It said "my self destructive tendencies are what make me who I am". Being depressed doesn't make you "mysterious". Anybody who has been through such a phase knows that it's not a fun time, it's a struggle. Posts need to stop normalizing and encouraging this. It's harder for people to leave it, if they get comfortable with being like that. It's important to talk about mental health but not to make it seem cool. I feel for the people that are going through hard times. It's okay to talk about it but it's not okay to romanticise/glamorize it. Let people know that it's okay to reach out and get help. Talk about mental health to spread awareness about it. It doesn't make you weaker to ask for help. I apologize if my opinions have hurt anyone's sentiments. What are your thoughts on this?
