“You are welcome,” the girl smiled. “I am Josephine by the way.”
Dionysus’ daughter smiled, “Melody.”
“But– But– Puppies are so cute…”
“Yeah, and then they turn into hellhounds and try to kill you.”
Victor just laughed at her reaction. “Come on Mel, it’s not good to keep things bottled up.”
She laughed. “Over my dead body.”
Victor reached back over to ruffle her hair again at her comment. “You mean sexy.”
Melody smacked his hand away from her hair. “I won’t admit it with that attitude.”
“Not as many as you might think.”
“But there’s so many different kinds and types,” Melody replied. “I mean I’d look terrible with the wrong kind.”
“Of course I do and I’m incredibly offended,” Victor announced with a pout.
Melody tapped his pout. “Aww, cute.”
“The big deal is you can actually pull them off, a rather rare trait, I might add.”
“I highly doubt that, many people can pull off glasses.”
“Yes really,” Josephine nodded. “Believe me please. You… are looking really curte like this.”
“Thank you.”
“Oh, okay then. Good to know I’m not scary… Shall we?” He offered her his arm.
“Of course, I’m the one who asked, didn’t I?” Melody replied with a smile, taking his arm.
“Oh, I wasn’t trying to make it a big deal- I’m sorry, you just look really nice in them,”
“Thank you.”
“I was just gonna say they look really nice but if you’re gonna be training, they might not be the best idea.”
“Well I’m going to have too, it’s going to be a while before my mom can send me more contacts. I don’t exactly use weapons to fight anyway.”
“You look so cute! I see no reason why you shouldn’t wear them.”
“It’s just weird, I’m just used to wearing my contacts more.”
“I wasn’t giving any shit to your glasses, Mel. I was just saying you haven’t worn them recently. I was just surprised to see them is all.”
“I ran out of contacts.”
Victor raised an eyebrow at the girl. “I hear doubt in your voice.”
“Do you?” Melody replied with a smirk.
“You look like an adorable rocket scientist with those on.”
“Rocket scientist? You know I’m a drama nerd right? Far from rocket scientist.”
“No, but they’re really nice.”
“Really?”
“Oh yeah, sure. Wouldn’t you prefer to practice with my brothers though? They are definitely better at handling weapons than I am.”
“Honestly, I just need someone who knows how to work with this,” Melody replied. “Besides your brothers kind of scare me sometimes.”
