Considering coming back to the tumblr rpc, I wonder if any of my mutuals are still alive?

My yoshika blog has two modes:

Shitpost, and

"Does Yoshika love Seiga of her own free will? Is there anything in that rotting head of hers that is her own, or is she a clockwork being designed to obey unconditionally? If she's completely under Seiga's control, why does she seem to display some signs of autonomy? When left alone she recites poetry. is this a bit of the real yoshika seeping in or is this all part of seiga's designs as well?I just kinda find it a bit hard to believe that should Yoshika regain all of her free will and sentience that she'd be entirely happy with her situation.”

I don’t know if the question’s asked that often, but lately I’ve been wondering...

How much of what we see is “Yoshika Miyako” and how much is “Seiga Kaku’s ideal servant?”

Is this Yoshika, or is this a reanimated corpse conditioned into what Seiga wants?

Is Yoshika someone close to Seiga that was reanimated out of love and grief, or was Yoshika reanimated out of spite?

And her death?

Natural causes or foul play?

Seiga Kaku is not a good person, this much is known and established, but how deep does her wickedness go?

For all we know, Yoshika Miyako didn’t like Seiga one bit in life, and Seiga took it upon herself to fix that little “flaw” of hers.

I’m all for a cute, happy dynamic between them, but I’m also going to question how sincere it is, and also question just what the actual circumstances of Yoshika’s reanimation are.

Maybe the monsters and ghouls aren’t so bad. Maybe all they wanna do is have fun on the one night meant for them.

Anyhow this is my dual Halloween/final Desire Drive piece! I decided I would take inspiration from Jive at the Graveyard because damn what a catchy song right? Yoshika doesn’t seem to think so but she can endure a little bit of dancing.

Actually, @silentreimu reminded me she’s based on a 9th century poet, so she’s likely OLD ENOUGH to be a Ba.

But I imagine Seiga’s interference (and the rules of living in Gensokyo) have somewhat stunted her growth, so to speak.

She can’t feed with impunity, so she hasn’t really grown enough to go fully demonic quite yet.

It’ll happen with time, even with her small trickle of feeding she gets, it’ll just take longer.

And who knows if Gensokyo will even be around in 9000 years when she can go full Demon Lord.

Headcanon Contemplations/Today I Learned...

Also, apparently a Jiangshi’s hopping-based locomotion is actually considerably fast. Considering they have to survive a long time and consume a lot of life force to get to that point, I’d imagine it’s a given. 

A lot of fanworks portray her more akin to a western Zombie, when in all actuality Jiangshi are a type of Vampire.

Apparently when they’re at the stage where they can fly (like Yoshika can) they can leap onto buildings with ease and drain a human’s life essence without detection. 

Yoshika may actually be considerably more dangerous than I initially thought. 

She’s not at the Ba stage yet, though, so she’s at least not a plague-spreading demigod nightmare. Not yet, anyway.

If a Jiangshi lives to be 10,000 essentially everyone’s fucked. Apparently Jiangshi of that age are more or less demon gods.

So yeah.

I had no idea how dangerous they actually were.

On Yoshika’s status on the Jiangshi pecking order:

So I’d say Yoshika is somewhere around this stage of the evolution of Jiangshi, since she can fly and is able to consume just about anything. I’d imagine she’s been modified somewhat, though, with Seiga’s frequent meddling. Yoshika isn’t 1000 years old yet, but she’s likely at least several hundred years old at this point. If what I’m reading is true, then we’ll have a lot of fun to look forward to:
