sometimes age regression is pouting and wanting to scream and cry because all you want to do is sit outside in the sun and play with toys and color with your paci but you can't because you are in an adults body so doing that would be unsafe and that feels extremely unfair.

I have to say the hardest part about healing

is admitting regression is ok

I used to know someone who always regressed around me, and just like always I was the perfect parent. I never considered myself. I was taught that being a kid was “bad” and you “grew out of it”. Once they left I unlearned the bad behaviors, I still am. I was always so angry, angry she could be a kid and I couldn’t.

Pretty stupid right?

But I understand my viewpoint, I wasn’t allowed to be a kid because I was always the caretaker. I got angry all the time because I just wanted to be a kid.

I’m allowed to be the kid. I’m allowed to heal.

That’s regression. My regression.

I’m allowed to have been angry, be angry. I’m allowed to feel all my feelings in regression and out. Healing is hard, but it’s own journey

He’s a bit of a lazy caregiver but he tries

Can’t cook for shit but packs plenty of snacks because he can’t stand me having a medical episode

Doesn’t like decorated mobility aids but packs as many as we need

Keeps his meds on him because he can’t be in pain around his kiddo

Often leaves me under his desk with some toys and books because he is busy

Makes sure it’s educational because his kiddo needs to learn

Hates new technology so no screen time for his kid

His coworkers tease him over having a kid

He unironically makes sure not to watch anything bad and says “Language” to his coworkers

Nicknames: Bunny, Kid, Kiddo, Child

jax regressor headcanons

• has a deep shame surrounding his age regression (i can’t imagine a world where he wouldn’t /nm /just the way jax is built)

• once, pomni accidentally walked in on him asleep with a paci next to him - she would never have known otherwise

• pomni slips jax the occasional head pat/rub and he has no idea how to process the interaction (jax is unaware that she knows because he cannot fathom that he would have slipped up)

• jax and pomni have never discussed his regression, but there’s an unspoken understanding between the two of them to keep it quiet

• pomni is the only one who knows about his regression, and is very careful to respect that boundary around the others ❗️in fact, she has covered for him multiple times (example: zooble had started questioning jax after seeing toys in his room, but pomni quickly diverts the blame to caine and his gloink centered ideas - surely some of the 300 precious spawn must have gotten loose...)

• ragatha definitely knows something is up, but she doesn’t want to open that can of worms yet

• likes vocaloid when he is in a toddler headspace, and has a super-secret hatsune miku plushie that he kept from a previous adventure

• has a collection of miscellaneous toys and such from every single adventure he’s ever been on

• regresses much younger while listening to lofi jazz

• is mainly non-verbal and prefers to play quietly by himself

• loves interactive stim boards (especially the ones with a lock and key)

• experiences impure regression frequently (feels like the prey animal he’s forced to look like)

• low-key craves having a caregiver to baby and coo over him, but he would definitely have a hard time fully slipping around someone else (he’s building up the courage to say something to pomni)

• can’t sleep unless he has a nightlight on or else he’ll get the scaries

• some nights, pomni will check up on him and make sure that the nightlight isn’t glitching, and she’ll open his door a bit so that there’s some extra light peeking in!
