Hi I submitted my application for early access on October 29th and haven't received an email from Chapman confirming my application and having my portal login. I was just wondering if this is normal to not have received a confirmation 5 days after I submitted.

Submitted my film production ED application!! Curious about the competition, do you know how many people apply ED for film production per year?

Congratulations! We do not have those numbers yet but it is a competitive program year after year.

Will my application still being viewed if I submit my creative supplement one day after the deadline？

Yes, there is a slight amount of leeway!

how are applications reviewed at chapman? is it just your regional counselor that looks over it, or is it a group of people? who sees your creative supplement material?

Our applications are reviewed by multiple people in a multi- step process that holistically reviews every application in its entirety! The creative supplement is usually reviewed by the department that you are applying for.

Hey! I just recently found out about someone who applied to Film Production with a second choice major in TV, but was offered acceptance for screenwriting. Is this common? If I apply ED, and am offered a major that wasn’t on my application, would I still be required to attend?

I am finishing up my EA application now. I plan to major in integrated educational studies. On the application, do you suggest I put undecided as an option if I can not get into that program? If so, what should I write about in my short answer question?

We always recommend that you apply for the program you are interested in unless you truly do not know what major you want to do yet!

Hi! If I apply ED and I am not accepted into my first choice major but I am accepted into my second choice, will I still be binded with ED to go to Chapman? Thank you!

You will be asked if you would like to be considered for your second choice, if you say yes then you will still be in a binding agreement to attend Chapman.

I am applying EA and am finishing up my Common app. I did not notice a question about being a legacy. My father graduated from Chapman and I’m just wondering if I missed a question that asks about that and if not is it important to write it in somewhere? Thank you.

There is a section you fill out for your parents/guardian information and your fathers education history should be written in there!

Hi! I am applying Early Decision for Film Production and I was wondering when I would receive my decision? I know that EA Film Production applicants do not receive their notices until later, is it the same for ED? Or would I hear back in December? Thank you!

Hi! Film decisions are all released at the same time regardless of if you applied EA/ED.

Does not having a Fellows Interview negatively affect my application? I wanted to interview but all the dates filled up!

No, it will not negatively affect your application at all!

Is the 2 minute creative supplement part of this years application for Film Production?

Hi, if I apply undeclared to Chapman, am I able to choose any major I want my sophomore or junior year, once I figure out what I want to study? Are there any majors that are restricted or not an option for undeclared majors?

Hi! Yes you have plenty of time to decipher what major you want to declare! All majors are open, however any talent- based major will require an application. Check out our Undeclared Student webpage here for more information.

Hi, What is the advantage of early action vs regular admission? My SATs were repeatedly canceled and I’ll be taking them for the first time on 11/3, so I will not have my SAT scores back by the deadline of 11/1/2020. Results will not be back until at least 11/18, so I’ll miss the 10 day deadline to change my mind on submitting them or not. This is stressful, as I have no idea how well I’ll do even though I’m very strong academically. Chapman is my top choice so I’m very confused as what to do.

Best advice- be yourself! Our students are so fun and just want to get to know you. Show them what you’re passionate and tell them why. Good luck, don’t be nervous!
