Introducing my new Bomber Case 3.0 for Holeyboard Pedalboards!
The Holeyboard I'm playing this week #3
You know what’s better than one amp? Two tweed little guys in tandem. I give you my Victoria Chicagolux, a 12 watt repro of the famed ‘59 vibrolux and my ugly cabinet, but sweet sounding, Clark Beaufort. 18 watts of 6v6 goodness, a deluxe with a little bit more. The Fulltone splits the signal and it’s a lot like heaven. I start with my Fulldrive 3 ltd edition (signed on the back :) ) and go to my tuner, I keep messing with where to put the tuner, works well here, into the Supa-Trem and then Catalinbread twins, or siblings anyway, the Echorec and the Belle Epoch. I’m a big fan of tape delay in all its forms. Add a little reverb from Lotus Pedal Designs and the IceVerb and it’s magic. All set up on the Holeyboard New Standard. Fast and easy. I’m itching to set up the Big Zig, look for that next week! Enjoy and rock out.
Chemistry Design Werks Gigawatt OD & Delay video demo!
Here’s a nice demo of what the Gigawatt can do. It’s an effects pedal that has its own flair and unique sound, better, faster, stronger. Check it out. Also note the Experimenter Knobs, this is my first pedal and it’s the first time these knobs are in the world. They allow you to mark your favorite settings easily so you can feel free to create new sounds, knowing you can always get back to your favorites easily. It’s all analog, simper, durable, reliable. Better. Patents applied for.
Enjoy!
New! Bomber Case 3.0
Introducing my Holeyboard Bomber Case 3.0, better in every way.
Built to last, right here in the Twin Cities.
My goal was to be able to easily carry gear in one trip into a gig: guitar in one hand, amp in the other and the Bomber Case 3.0 on your shoulder. A lot of thought went into the Bomber Case 3.0, it had to be extremely durable and abrasion resistant, so the outside material is made of ballistic nylon, the same material used in bulletproof vests. It also had to protect your boards from the elements, so the inside is waterproof yellow boating-grade vinyl. Why yellow? So you can see things in the bottom of it in low light -- details matter.
I wanted a design that we could get the board in and out of quickly and that would accommodate cords, straps, strings or whatever else we might need to throw in there. The Bomber Case is inspired by bulletproof messenger bags, it's easy load and unload quickly, it's extremely durable, and comfortable to carry.
Recent Upgrades!
I made a lot of changes after gigging with mine for the last 6 years and listening to feedback and requests from you. So, here they are:
Re-designed geometry, the cases now are more rectangular with a wide opening on top for easier loading and three snaps right on top, no floppy flaps, load, snap and go!
More padding, in and out. There is thicker padding between the ballistic nylon and the waterproof vinyl, this allows the cases to sit up and open on it’s own, it’s not floppy, so it’s easy to load your Holeyboard
New carry straps. Made of soft but freakishly strong seatbelt webbing, the straps wrap around the bottom of the Bomber Case to center the weight of the Holeyboards when carrying them, the straps can be grabbed by the handle or easily put over your shoulder. It hangs straight and balanced
Even more padding: The Bomber Cushion. It took me five years to figure this out, you all asked for more padding so your Holeyboard doesn’t get dinged in the van. Also, people are frustrated that their knobs might move on their pedals to a gig. The Bomber Cushion accomplishes both, fantastically. Super thick padding on top of your Holeyboard for protection and the knobs are held in place by the thick cushioning during transport. Note that the Bomber Cushion is an option in the selection menu, you can still get the Bomber Case 3.0 au natural.
New sizes: The Bomber 3.0 was redesigned to hold Holeyboards ZigZag and the WIDE, Standard and AmpTop. Dragonfly has it’s own case, the Dragon Bomber (see next Bullet). They come in three widths, pick the width that works best for you, keep in mind you might want room to put cords, mics, charts, etc. I personally have been using the 32” with the ZigZag Combo, it gives me a lot of room for my stuff.
New Dragon Bomber: Due to Dragonfly being able to extend out to 37” it needed a unique case. The Dragon Bomber is fully padded and has a zipper enclosure and holds Dragonfly up to its full extension. See separate listing in my store for pictures.
Made even better. I added a large fully-padded pocket along the front to protect your pedals and knobs. Second I upgraded the strap to seat-belt webbing, super strong and soft to carry. Also added is a nice carry-handle on the top when you are reaching for your board in the truck. Last is four sweet bulletproof snaps on the front flap to keep it tight, dry and safe.
Review of the new Gigawatt Overdrive & Delay!
Yes, crazy, we are now making pedals as well as our Holeyboard Pedalboards. Check out the nice review, just released!
Introducing the Holeyboard Dragonfly 3.0 & The New Standard!
Just released, now you can start with The New Holeyboard Standard and upgrade to Dragonfly when you are ready by adding the Holeyboard Slider!
The Holeyboard I'm playing this week #2
Hello seekers of great tone. I bring to you the second in a series of the Holeyboard I'm playing this week. I have a gig tonight at the Acadia Pub in Minneapolis, small-is intimate space, not the arena rock outdoor gig of last Saturday. So, I'm going with my New Std Holeyboard (being released in about three weeks). Against conventional wisdom you can see that I'm starting with the Catalinbread Belle Epoch first in the chain, it simply sounds good and in the old days an Echoplex or the like would be put before the amp. Also slightly out of my usual order is my EP Booster, after my limited edition Full-Drive 3. Usually I would put it before the drive to add "more" when I want more but I'm just leaving the EP on all of the time and putting the Full-Drive 3 before sounds fantastic. I don't use the boost on the Full-Drive 3, if you are wondering, I don't know why, just isn't my thing.
From there we go to my trusty tuner and up to the Maxon AD999, a killer analog delay that I've had for a while, it's huge but sounds huge. then into my Fulltone ABY splitter. Even though I'm only playing one amp tonight, I seem to like whatever the buffer section of the splitter does, it makes everything even quieter and sounds great, so I leave it there. Everything powered by the Walrus Audio Phoenix, the big guy.
All of this into my little Clark Beaufort, in a not so beautiful drab green telex. It's a little 5E3 circuit that sounds amazing with a Scumback Scumnico 12" speaker inside with fancy tubes. Perfect for the venue tonight. Enjoy, rock on and have a great day!
The Holeyboard Pedalboard I'm playing this week #1
Hello, as I'm certifiably nuts about pedals and changing things up before every gig (mostly to irritate my bass player...) I thought it would be fun to have a series of different setups with the Holeyboard Pedalboards since they are easy to reconfigure.
So, this week we are playing a gig Saturday outside for a motorcycle cruise fundraiser, should be awesome. Lot's of people and quick setup and takedown so I went with the Holeyboard Zig, just the main board, so it's nice and compact. I figure it's a straight up rocking kind of a show, not a whole lot of subtlety do to the outdoors and big crowd so I started with the prototype of my new OD pedal (releasing mid July!), I move onto my JHS Charlie Brown for a couple of tunes that have that cranked Marshall feel and into a tuner, then up to the Belle Epoch from Catalinbread (for a little bit of flavor now and then) out through a buffer into my trusty Carr Rambler. The whole shebang is powered by my Walrus Audio Aetos, strapped nicely on the back of my Holeyboard Zig pedalboard. On to the gig!

3 Day Sale, ends Monday, April 23rd! I've lost my mind, we just had a blizzard six days ago...seriously, in the middle of April. But, what goes down goes up, today it's going to be 60 degrees and in honor of spring, I am putting the best thing I've ever created on sale. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

New Finish! The Top Shelf and the Slider are now Blackbird Black, they are aluminum that is powder coated. It's beautiful and durable. The Dragonfly Base is an industrial tumbled finish, it's durable and looks cool, the color for the base remains the natural aluminum silver.
The Superior Pedal Solution
Dragonfly is the most advanced pedalboard solution. It has the highest level of pedal placement optimization and precision. The fine tuned ergonomics allow you to configure your setup easily, and quickly, for optimal ease-of-use and playability.
Adjustability, the ultimate evolution of the Holeyboard.
Dragonfly is always the right size. It can extend from 26" to 31" to 37" easily. The Base expands to 3 sizes, and the Top Deck is moveable to 4 positions. There are no additional parts to buy. Dragonfly fits your pedals and your power supplies easily with damage-free mounting using cable ties that are quick, tight and fast.
I've never worked as hard on developing an idea, this was a real labor of love and using it is pretty awesome. It's so thin it's barely there yet very strong and rigid, with a lifetime warranty of course.
Why Holeyboards? A better solution to play your effects pedals.
Holeyboard pedalboards aren’t vanilla, they look different and they are different. The instant you use a Holeyboard, you will know that it feels different. It brings your pedals to life with an intuitive ease that puts you at one with your music. Easy to use, easy to play. Made in Minneapolis with a lifetime warranty they are built for the working musician.
The Evolution of Holeyboard design and technology
The Evolution Series is the culmination of 10 years of R&D, sweat, heart and soul. These are the best pedalboards that we make with the latest advances in Holeyboard design and technology. The result is a superior Holeyboard with optimized performance and is built to last.
Dragonfly 2.0 updates: Better in every small way
Increased rigidity: the Holeyboard Dragonfly's main deck and slider were increased to 0.125" 5052 Aluminum for strength, because rigid is good.
Optimized hole pattern: Holes tweaked, pushed, added as needed to make mounting easier
Simplified Assembly and Reconfiguration: Very very exciting, after years of work we discovered the wing nut, brilliant. Much simpler to assemble with only your fingers and a screwdriver, no wrenches needed. Also, we've reduced the number of screws to mount the Top Deck to the Main board so it's faster and easier.
With the bump up in material thickness we removed the ribs that were riveted, they are no longer needed and it adds surface area for mounting. Along with this as well are rubber washers that go between the feet and the main deck to offset the difference where the Slider overlaps, so all is level and nice.
Finish upgrades. We are tumbling the base rather than anodizing it, it looks amazing and is very durable.
Better, happier price, Dragonfly 1.0 listed at $289, we've brought it down to $239. More money left in your pocket for pedals.
What’s new in the Aluminum Series
All aluminum 6061 and 5052 Series Aluminum. It has extraordinary structural strength, rigidity, and durability. It is sustainably produced in the USA, has excellent finishing characteristics and it is light weight at just 0.125” thin.

Fits more pedals. There is new geometry with 10% more surface area than the M3 Series and an optimized hole pattern for easier mounting and positioning of your pedals and power supplies,
Optimized hole pattern, refined to fit more pedals, easier and faster.
Easier to grip. More robust, larger integrated handles with rubber grips.
Moveable Top Shelf now on the Standard as well as the WIDE. Southpaw friendly.
Holeyboard Evolution Design Features, Innovative thinking pushed further
Adjustable to 10 different sizes and configurations.
No messy hook and loop fasteners or adhesives, designed to use cable ties that are quick and tight.
