carmuel short story thoughts (spoilers):

- the first episode was comedic gold

- even if ooc sometimes, the way samuel was so smug was so funny (dont get me wrong some of them he'd definitely say but i feel like a ton of the lines were really wayy too overconfident for him)

- the classical music ruined the vibe of the sex scene sns

- carla kinda pissed me off like sorry but open up bitch (affectionate), i feel like it's always samuel who's fighting for her and even if it makes sense on some level i feel like they minimized the depth of her feelings for him that she showed in the previous seasons

- speaking of poor samuel, i love him and want all the best for him (then again also: stop talking sometimes)

- her not telling him about the shit with her father - ugh. forever bitter (=i need another 5 years later idcidc). i thought when he kept pushing about her parents she'd crack but they glossed it over and didn't deal with it at all which was the biggest shortcoming imo

- i love all their kisses aghh

- also they're both super hot

- the truth or dare scene was soo in character

- i'm kind of pissed they turned it into another christian situation? like i know it's pretty authentic and it would've come up eventually but tbh i feel like they invented a new (albeit realistic) issue and didn't let them deal with their main previous one

- still i'm forever grateful we got to see more of them and am inhaling every last crumb of this fanservice

- the closure is infinitely better than after the s3 finale

- my heart was shattered by the "i will always love you" and it's never gonna be the same

- (i legit feel like half of it was straight 10 fanfics mixed together lmao. imagine if they'd actually read them - for the record i know it's just bc everyone uses the same clichés and tropes but just imagine)

Élite Short Stories: Carla & Samuel - Spoiler Review

They are the moment. THEY ARE MY WHOLE LIFE.

Damn. I love them so much, and words fail me. Well, I don't think there are words to articulate their relationship honestly. This relationship was so important to me and to have it this beautifully portrayed?

The first episode was light, and had so much fluff. Carla just seems to awaken the playful, confident side of Samuel, and he gets when she's putting up walls and shuts it down. I loved everything about the episode. I was smiling so hard, my face hurt.

The second was hot hot hot angst and then more hot. Samuel can't deprive Carla of much, and he gives into her. But we see how insecure he is; Carla being too blunt sometimes doesn't exactly help with that. Opening his heart the way he did, to be this vulnerable? And Carla still wasn't willing to do the same? Must've hurt. But she wants to stay too, but she can't. Not with the way things are, knowing how far he's willing to go for her.

The last episode hits hard. Their little bubble that they've created was so soft. Samuel is trying very hard to not be like Christian nor Polo, but with their social status, its difficult. Samuel's income status and insecurities are going to be a major part in the next two seasons. We see them argue, and it's clear that they have growing to do. Separately.

The goodbye wasn't final. I really hope Samuel leaves alone at the end of season 5 (preferably to London), and without another girl. Carla is the love of his life, and I won't accept anything else but Carmuel.

Élite Season 4 is coming, and honestly, fuck that shit.

Do you think that the writters tried to take Liam out of the show many times but the fandom do not let them do It?

Good question, we know that Adam was only planned to be in a few episodes but because of his and Liz's chemistry they brought him back which I assume was for the season 1 finale. I can only imagine that the fans overwhelming positive reaction to his character helped make that decision.

I personally think that after that point, even in early season 2, they had it in their heads that they would have falliam as canon by the end of the season. However, they had to convince the fans who still preferred her with Culhane, I imagine there were a few remaining by that point because they had been a pretty big focus in season 1, so they cleverly gave us the fake relationship to show Fallon falling for Liam and paralleled it with the Ada Stone storyline to move the majority of the fans who were on the fence over to falliam. It was a duo-attack, have Fallon fall for another man, one which so clearly loves her even for her flaws, but also essentially ruin the relationship she was currently in too.

I don't think they just gave us canon falliam from 2x11 because that would have been a bit too much to show Fallon jumping from one man to another and her going through that identity crisis and getting femperial gave Fallon a solid career base and great character development to then reintroduce her love life, and in walks Liam, or should I say Mr Southside? And the rest is history I guess. (I also assume Adam's contract - or lack of one - explains the gaps in Liam's presence in season 2)

Obviously I think that Liam being so loved by the fans helped with all of it but I genuinely don't think falliam are what is considered as fan service, more like a happy coincidence once Adam Huber was on set and everyone saw the potential of their relationship. And boy, Liz and Adam sure do deliver!
