The heart beats faster and time seems to go by slower, sound goes down, but sound doesn't expect anything in return so it is mostly ok.

Breathing appears to stay normal but after a while the chest moves faster and faster until it is full on heaving because someone has to keep up with that crazy heart. All of this you bear with silently, as if you were watching from afar, as if it were someone else hyperventilating.
