Batman’s sense of humor
Nothin' like th' Irish, mate. We'll have anyone up an' bouncin' on their feet in no time. - or at least, wide awake. [Mitchell's been cheerful lately, besides his own little hunter problem - no one's quite sure why.] I s'pose t'at bit comes with th' territory. Been doin' th' same.
What is it your accent or something like that? Certainly don't seem to have that skill.
Yeah? You sure you haven't been getting into too much trouble lately?
"Look who it is, the comeback kid—"
Well if it isn't Little Ray of Blondie. Good to see you down away from the bears and the cold.
{ He's subtle in his smile as he fist bumps the other man. It'd been a little while since he'd seen him around. }
[TEXT]: And you got a serious answer. Wasn’t me.
[TEXT]: Then why is your scent all over here?
[TEXT]: Now that sounds like a really bad innuendo.
[TEXT]: I'm asking a serious question Jason.
[TEXT]: Magic. Or you were eating them in your sleep.
[TEXT]: Why would I be eating them in my sleep?
[TEXT]: Unless.. Are you feeding them to me in my sleep?!

{ There was a distinct smell to the air, one that caused his whole body to feel cold and his veins shudder. How was that even possible? Both of those feelings felt so weird, and he didn't like it. And yet it made him feel a little human again. Or like he was again. He attempted to try not to breath out of his nose so much before he failed at hiding his expression. }
Evening.
[ she blinks, appearing confused as she studies the man she’s just run into. familiar as he looks, it’s clear he has no idea who she is. not that she’s surprised, of course, but she’s sure her features aren’t exactly as friendly as they could be. ]
I’m sorry. I guess I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.
{ No she didn't really.. look that friendly. But then again most people that seemed to be out at night this late usually weren't. And what did that say about him? Oh well, he knew he wasn't the friendliest of sorts, not anymore. But he put on a good smile for her, giving her a few shakes of his head. }
Don't worry about it. You doing alright?
Nothing compared t' a half a century or so, trust me on that. 's good t' see you again. [he shoves gloved hands into his pockets.] Stayed out o' trouble? Or did y' jump into it? // I missed ya too!
It's good to see you too, really. Not enough Irish people around to bother me. [He was teasing, of course. He enjoyed the man's company, even if they were on seemingly conflicting sides.] Oh you know I always try to stay out of trouble. It just seems to find me and jump on me without any notice.
Mm?
[It was obvious from the slow motion of Connor’s blink, combined with the half dazed expression that he was dead tired. He was a man used to working early during the morning and afternoon. Every once in a while a case required a little more of an overnight shift, and it was a change he wasn’t used to making at such sudden notice.]
Oh, uh, sorry. I’m just… well, it’s a late night for me.
[He punctuated his statement with a wide yawn, covering his mouth even as his jaw cracked.]
Connor Wayne-Latigue. Anything I could help y’with?
{ It was a bit more than obvious that the man was tired: the way he was sitting there slumping, the droopiness to his eyes and the way his whole body seemed to almost.. sag. How was that even possible? That it was like his insides were sagging? He wasn't sure, but it was a sign, a total and clear sign that maybe the man should be resting. Then again he had no reason to really talk about that sort of thing. He gave a small shrug in response. }
Nice to meet you, Connor.
And well, I was hoping you could tell me. If you could anyway.
Back in th' land o' th living, I see. Thought it was jus' us who did that. //HI OMF YOU'RE BAcK
{ Dick chuckled softly as he looked at the Irishman in front of him and he shrugged just a bit. }
Who says you guys get to hog all the spotlight, huh? How ya been, Mitchell?
It's.. been a long time.

{ It wasn't often that he got visitors, especially not ones so late. And he had to wonder what was the special occasion. Unless it was just the weekend and people were lost? Who know. }
Is there something I can help you with so late?
The archers arms flailed in a childish protest. He was nearly thirty for fuck’s sake. He’s had his fair share of sneaking in and out of people’s houses, he doesn’t need to continue it. So he scowls at Dick, making a point to prove that he was extremely disgruntled.
He lazily huffs and pulls his legs to his chest as his friend wanders over to the bed.
”Just leave it open next time, alright?”
Emerald eyes follow blues as his friend moves to sit on the couch. He looked different— Dick did, that is. He looked almost ill & extremely tired. Roy can’t help but wonder what’s happened the last few months. Where did he even go? Will he ever tell him?
No, probably not.
And now he’s staring. That’s embarrassing.
“How’ve you been?”
It was so funny, watching him behaving like a child when they were almost the same age. Which was a strange thought to think about. He always used to consider Roy to be the older man, and yet somehow he was acting like more of the old man. Didn't stop him from smiling at him though as if he won something and he yawned into the back of his hand before he sat down. Crossing his legs under his body as he leaned back and let his hands rest in his lap. He was so happy he was able to find this couch for nothing, literally nothing, and yet it was in great condition and it didn't smell half bad. Plus febrezzing it helped a bunch.
"Fine, I'll leave it open for you."
He knew the question would be coming, as well as those other ones that would be gracing his lips. Which he really deserved after leaving out of the blue, again, but he wasn't ready. Not.. not yet.
"I've been alright, getting over jet lag and then road tripping. I need to stay off the road so much and actually sleep. You know I need sleep when I'm saying that I need sleep."
He took a moment and nodded his head towards him. "How've you been?"
[t] That better not be my name in your phone.
Thirty minutes passed.
It felt like he was sixteen all over again, sneaking out past midnight and crawling through people’s windows. When he was younger he’d never been the stealthy type. Nothing changed— seeing as how he was stomping around in the bushes like an elephant.
Poor bushes. He should probably tell Dick about that.
Once he successfully got through the window, he lets himself slide down the wall with and exasperated sigh.
“Next time just leave the front door open.”
[TEXT]: Who says it's not?
The fact that he was laying there in bed expecting him wasn't too much of a surprise when he heard the loud banging sound outside of the warehouse. He had never been the quietest guy in the ninja group, no that was more of the acrobat's thing. He chuckled to himself before tossing the phone over on the other side of the bed to join him when he landed. The air in the large warehouse was cool enough that he could walk around shirtless and in pants without fear of getting too cold. Oh yeah, that was a laugh.
He took in the archer's appearance he walked up to him, noticing the way he walked and the way he held himself together. He had changed.. if only just a little bit, and he wondered really if there was more invisible change than visible. There was a soft chuckle as he gave his old friend a wide smile.
"Where's the fun in making you work for it?"
[t] 'Just for me?' Aw. [t] You really did miss me.
