Jack chuckled softly to himself when she left the room.
She had blushed at his comment. Maybe she wasn’t as brash as he thought. He found the thought kinda nice before he became a bit worried. He didn’t want to scare this one off.
He decided to reign it in a bit unless she started dishing out the banter in equal amounts.
Somehow he doubted that Clara Oswald would disappoint him in any respect, and that included bantering.
He settled in to one of the chairs at the table and waited for her to finish up her duties so they could really talk for a few minutes before he decided he’d rather get up and help then sit and be useless. He got a service cloth and started wiping down tables as he waited for Clara to come back out.
Rushing in to the store room, Clara pulled out a small portable mirror from her apron, checking the structure of her messily styles tied hair and what was left of her tin layer of make up, she pulled a few faces and released an uncomfortable sigh, or two.
‘Really? You’re going to go for a drink looking like that?’
‘Have you seen him? He’s gorgeous he’s not going to want to be seen with someone who looks like they’ve just been dragged through a hedge and back’
Through narrowed eyes, she quickly scanned over the contents of the store room and shook her head, dissolving her thoughts. “Convenience is key, Miss Oswald” and with an accidental quote from her mother, she chewed over her lip stepping back in to the kitchen to meet the girls.
“Sarah I’m leaving you in charge of lock up tonight” she muttered, happily ditching the keys to the kitchen on the counter along with her responsibility of locking up. “Don’t let me down, yeah?” Forcing a weak smile to the surface of her lips, she thought it would help mask the bossy tone.
There again who was she kidding? There was no use in trying to mask her bossiness when the whole club knew just how bossy she really was.
“So” she announced, leaning herself across his table, lifting a brow. “Where are you taking me? Somewhere good I hope, Captain...”
