Trying to organize everything
In my current pursuit of streamlining the soap making process, I recently ordered a new soap cutter mold from Amazon, seeing as my old wooden mold is ready to retire and unable to continue producing even bars of soap. After extensive research, I came upon this particular model:
https://www.amazon.com/SM-SunniMix-Plastic-Chocolate-Straight/dp/B07KBGVG7S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1544001669&sr=8-1&keywords=SM+SunniMix+soap+cutter
It even had the reassurance “* Made of quality plastic material, durable and reliable to use.”
Sure it was.
In fact, it was so durable that it arrived in the post like this:
Durable plastic indeed...
The soap cutter mold wasn’t secured in a box, either: It was loosely covered in bubble wrap, then spent most of its time jostling around in a plastic bag that was at least 3x its size. I was only able to use the mold after my spouse repaired it with Gorilla Glue (how’s that for reliability?).
It’s hard to say who is to blame for this damaged goods, but one thing is for certain: I’m definitely not going to order from this vendor again. First impressions are the lasting ones, after all.
Returning to soap making
After the craziness in moving (and driving my spouse nuts with my mood swings), I finally settled down and am attempting to streamline my soapmaking procedures so I can return to testing and exploring new soap ideas. Inspiration is a hard item to get, but I’m not giving up yet. ;) Most recent projects: Honey oatmeal milk soap Green tea soap Minty fresh soap with bentonite clay and goat milk powder Current project: Shaving soap Future project: Transparent/translucent soap (highly volatile due to certain ingredients) Note to self: Must continue typing up reports on new soap projects.

Originally used in the East as both traditional medicine and food, modern science is now demonstrating the potent therapeutic properties of mushrooms.

Although Chinese teas are famously touted for their medical and curative properties, it's only recently that Western doctors have taken note and begun studying oolong tea. According to traditional Chinese medicine, and modern science, these are some of the health benefits of oolong tea...
Officially back after settling into my small, but cozy apartment. The big move was completely insane: Add summer heat, heavy lifting, and meddling relatives together, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for a massive dose of impatience and short tempers (not to mention angry outbursts if even one crucial item was left behind). Currently brainstorming the next soap recipe...
