A Different World needs a reboot

A different world was a show if I pay one started the trend of sitcoms have a college years. I also feel as if their characters relate today’s time. I feel like if it was re-booted it would be interesting to see how the characters would react to today’s time.

For example, what would Whitley Gilbert be like in age of social media. Would Dwayne Wayne have a radio station or a podcast? Also, think of how funny it would be if Freddy had a Twitter. I just always thought it would be interesting to see these characters in modern time, I hope one day we get to see it

This is an interesting idea. Would you have the actors but older or keep the show the same era but with new actors?

My favorite one is #4 “Be a great storyteller.”

I believe the success of a film often hinges on 1) the hook of the idea and 2) how the [story] - [teller] plans to execute that idea. What information will the storyteller withhold or reveal and in what ways will he/she structure that information? And when I say “information” I really mean the story as we need to know in order to connect ourselves with the plot and characters. So it’s my belief that it’s often those who know “how best” to reveal plot and character are the greatest storytellers among us. Spielberg being in my Top 5.

Audio is a huge factor in the success of your film. Doing a postmortem for “Leadbelly”, my latest short film, this is the aspect I would most like to improve for my next film. Fortunately, I’ve seen the power of professional recorded audio from one of my previous films “The Angel of Marye’s Heights” so I know how irking it can be not to have it.

It’s sort of like hearing someone sing a song that moves you emotionally and leaves you in awe only to be followed by someone with...eh, mediocre talent. You’re like, “Hey wait, bring that other guy back on. I want to hear him sing”

Leadbelly, as far as the audio goes, was the second singer. Oh how I wish I would have invested more money into the project and protected the audio of the film. I do agree with the above article’s take on losing the art of sound design. Foley...diagetic sound...clear crisp dialogue. Start thinking sound and don’t deny your film a longer life by ignoring one of the essentials of great films...great audio!
