Cascade Brewery
Founded in 1824 by English entrepreneur Peter Degraves, Cascade is Australia’s oldest continuous operating brewery, situated at the foot of Mt. Wellington in South Hobart, Tasmania. In 1967, a fire tore through South Hobart, putting the brewery out of commission. In order to keep the beer flowing, the company moved in with the J. Boag & Sons’ Esk Brewery in Launceston on the north coast until the Cascade Brewery was rebuilt just over twelve weeks later.
Cascade remains one of Australia’s favourite beers today, with ten active beers to choose from.
