âHey, wake up.â
Too tired to open your eyes, you let out a low sound before trying to sink back into the comforting arms of unconsciousness, ignoring the hand on your shoulder with hopes it vanishes. But it doesnât. Instead someone calls your name again, the hand shaking you more earnestly.
You groan, turning around in bed and pulling your blanket over your head. The room is dark through your eyelids, and aside from the voice calling you, itâs dead quiet. Itâs still the middle of the night, you shouldnât be awake. Your drowsy brain barely wraps around the words being said to you, only begging you to sleepâjust five more minutes.Â
The voice says your name again. âPlease, sweetheart, I need you to get up.â
That one gets you. Because you now recognize himâitâs Dean, and he sounds worried, and heâs shaking you harder.
You immediately sit up, rubbing the sleep off your eyes and turning to Dean in a second. Your hand finds his, pulling it away from your shoulder and sleepily tangling your fingers with his.
âWhatâwhatâs happening? Are you okay?â
âCâmon.â He pulls you onto your feet hurriedly, and you stumble as he starts tugging you out of your room. âQuickly.â
Itâs not really your room. Itâs just the room in Bobbyâs house where you stay whenever your mom is too busy to take care of you or when the hunt sheâs working is too dangerousâwhich, admittedly, is most of the time. It might as well be your room, in the way itâs covered in posters of your favorite bands and pictures of you and the boys, and Bobby sure as hell calls it that.Â
Still, youâre too ashamed of taking up his space to claim it as yours.
âDean, whatâs going on?â you try again, but the boy just ignores you and keeps pulling you along, staring at every window you pass like something is going to burst in and bite him.Â
You walk past Bobbyâs empty roomâthe old man never leaves you alone when youâre over, either helping other hunters from home or taking you with him. But the boys are staying here for a few weeks while John does God-knows-what, and a close friend of his called with an emergency just a few towns over that morning.
âIâll be back before dawn,â heâd sat the three of you in the living room, arms crossed and looking a tiny bit awkward in the fatherly role. âDonât break anything, donât touch the spell cabinet, don't summon any pagan deities, and donât eat all the bacon in an hour and make yourself sick. Got it?â
The three of you had nodded in sync, and Bobby just sighed before getting into one of his spare cars and driving away.
In less than five minutes, Sam and you had already raided the restricted section of Bobbyâs library, almost invoked a plague while practicing sigils, and Dean had almost made himself throw up.Â
Heâd been fine by the time heâd shuffled into the room he sleeps in when he stays over, in front of Sammyâs and next to Bobbyâs, so you hope he didnât just wake you up to tell you he had a stomachache.Â
But when he finally drags you into his room, Sammyâs already there, looking confused and half-asleep sitting on the edge of the bed, only the bedside lamp and the moonlight illuminating the whole house. His hair is tousled, his eyelids heavy, and his lips pouty as he stares at Dean with the same expectant eyes at you.
Itâs only once youâre sitting next to him that Dean starts talking.Â
âThereâs a centaur outside.â
You blink up at him, your sluggish mind trying to distinguish if heâs joking or not. But his eyebrows are furrowed, and his fingers are flexing around a knife you hadnât noticed before. His pretty features are all pinched with worry that makes him look older, and not like the goofy sixteen-year-old that loves to poke your side just to annoy you any chance he gets.
âWhat do you mean, a centaur?â you rub a hand over your face, finally waking up completely.Â
âI saw it through the window,â Deanâs voice is urgent, and you hold back the impulse to hold him. Because his eyes are clouded and his mouth twisted and thereâs angry red lines on his neck from scratching, but you canât touch him like that.
Heâs your best friend, the pretty boy everyone loves, the guy who all the girls at school talk about when he comes to town.Â
But heâs your best friend, and no one else gets to see this side of himâthe panicked eyes, the soft heart under the leather jacket, the paranoia that was born from always being in danger and that now runs through his veins, acting up in the worst moments possible. The pain, and the scars, and the care.Â
No one else gets to have Dean care for them like he does for you, and no one cares about him like you do. And no dumb crushâthough you know itâs not just that, youâre irrevocably in love with himâwill get in the way of that.
âDe,â you try gently, tilting your head. âCentaurs arenât real. Iâve never heard of them, and Bobbyâs never mentioned them.â
Dean huffs, taking a step closer to the bed, looking back at the door to make sure his body is shielding you and Sammy from it. Your heart aches for him. You love him so much.
âI saw it,â he mutters your name. âI heard the clatter of horse hooves, a human voice, and when I looked out the window, there was a half-man, half horse shadow at the edge of the woods.â
âIt might just be one of those cowboys you love so much, Dean,â you try to lighten the situation while Sam looks like heâs falling back asleep next to you.Â
âIn Sioux Falls, in the middle of winter, close to downtown?â he deadpans, and you might have to give him that one. Still, youâre not convinced a centaur just stumbled upon Bobbyâs salvage yard.
âEven if it is a centaur,â you run a hand through your messy hair, sighing tiredly. âHow do you know theyâre dangerous? Maybe they just live near the waterfalls and wandered off. Centaurs sound like the type to live hippie, trippy lives.â
âActually,â Sam chimes in, straightening up, huge eyes finally blinking open. âCentaurs are known for being very wild, violent and, uhm, aggressively lustful. Especially toward women.â
You glare at him. âNot helping, Sammy.â
The kid shrugs, pulling one of Deanâs pillows down from the headboard and placing it on your lap. He drops his head on it, and your hand finds his hair almost instinctively. He falls asleep in a second, leaving you alone to deal with an even more freaked out Dean.
âSee? You could be in danger! What if theyâre trying to enter the house?â
âNot sure how theyâll get up the stairsâŚâ Dean scowls, and you keep gently scratching at Samâs scalp as you try to find a solution to this, the boy snoring peacefully. âIâm sure itâs nothing, De. We should go back to sleep and mention it to Bobby tomorrow.âÂ
Dean shakes his head, looking even more frustrated that you donât take his worries seriously.
But you know Dean, youâve known him since you two were ten and John dropped the brothers off at Bobbyâs for the first time. Youâve seen every version of himâhis winning smile when he hits all the targets or gets a new date, his goofy grin when he babbles about Scooby Doo or some action-packed movie, his pressed lips and angry fists when his dad leaves them on the front porch covered in blood and grime, and doesnât even stop to say hello.
And youâve seen him like this, when his brain convinces him of an imaginary danger and the fear consumes his soul. When heâs afraid of the shadows or the phantom of an old hunt, and heâs sure you and Sammy are going to die, that heâs going to lose you. And so he puts on his soldier uniform and desperately tries to shield you from bullets that never come, always so eager to take the worst of the blow.
Itâs usually Bobby who calms him down, who shows him thereâs no imminent death waiting for any of you and that everything is okay. But Bobbyâs not here, and itâs left to you to soothe him.Â
âTake this,â he shoves the knife heâs holding onto your hand, and you confusedly grab it as you watch him pull out a gun from his bag. âStay here with Sammy, wake him up if thereâs any noise downstairs. The kidâs a good enough shot and thereâs another one of these under my other pillow."Â
He points at the silver pistol in his hand before lunging for his jacket.Â
âWhere the hell are you going?â
âOutside,â your eyes widen, your fingers in Samâs hair freezing. âIâll go see if itâs really nothing, and if thereâs a son of a bitch out there, Iâll gank it.â
âAre you insane?â you try to protest, but Dean is already leaping for the door.Â
You push Samâs head off your lap a little harder than you intended, his snores interrupted by a confused, pained sound as he almost falls off the bed.Â
âDean, fuckingââ you catch him by the wrist just as heâs entering the hallway, stopping him on the other side of the doorway. âSlow down, Jesus Christâ
âI canât. Timeâs running, and if the centaur is trying to get insideâŚâ he tries to pull his hand away from yours, but your grip is relentless. You search for his eyes, your fingers dipping under the leather of his jacket and around the soft skin of his wrist.
âIâm not letting you go out alone in the middle of the night, Dean,â you scoff, tugging him closer. âThere might not be a centaur out there, but itâs still dangerous.â
âI need to check, sweetheart.â His voice has simmered down to a worried murmur. âMake sure youâll be safe, you and Sammy.â
You take a deep breath, trying to think of a middle ground.
âThen Iâll come with you,â you offer, adjusting your grip on the knife youâre still holding onto.
âNo freaking way.â His response is immediate, and your grip on his wrist slips down onto his hand again. You have no time to think about how big it is against yours, or how warm, or how much you want to hold onto it forever.
âYes way,â you retort, not letting go of him, chin raised in defiance.Â
âI wonât let you go out there, are you crazy?â Dean looks so genuinely upset by the idea only that you want to punch him and kiss him at the same time.Â
âOh, really, Winchester? You think youâre just a better hunter than me? Think I canât hold my own?â you probe him, even when you both know you donât actually believe he does.
âI donâtâholy shit,â he utters your name.âYou know thatâs not what I mean. Iâm justâIâm older, Iâm the one whoâs supposed to protect you two.â
Your heart sinks a little, because you know heâs just echoing Johnâs words. Your fingers finally intertwine with his, and he holds onto the contact so despairingly that you once again wonder how bad itâd be if you murdered the man, maybe cut off his tongue. Or his dick.Â
âYou're like, two months older, idiot.â You give him a small smile, tugging him closer again until his shoulder bumps yours. His frown relaxes. âAnd Iâm not Sammy, De. Iâm your best friend.â He looks about to protest, but you keep talking. âThat means I take care of you just as much as you take care of me.â
That shuts him up. His eyes gloss over, and his breath stutters. He looks so lost at your words, like the concept of someone caring for himâloving himâlike he does for them is something he never even imagined.Â
You stay there for what feel like hours, hands clasped together and eyes locked in the darkness of the empty hallway.Â
âDamn it, sweetheart. Why do you gotta make everything so difficult?â
You giggle, because you know youâve won.Â
âBecause for some reason, I decided to get attached to you.â You finally pull him all the way back inside the room, closing the door behind him. âI wonât let you throw yourself to the wolves, Winchester.â
âMaybe you should.â It was meant as a joke, but his tone is too sincere for it.Â
âNo, I shouldnât.â you frown, the words leaving you with so much conviction, the air thickens with it. âSo either we both go, or we both stay inside.â
Dean stares at you for another long moment before nodding in defeat, and then he surprises you again by dragging you to his bed, where Sam is already passed out, curled at the foot of the mattress.Â
âBut youâre staying here.â You open your mouth, but he raises a finger, silencing you. âNop, those are my conditions.â
âYouâre not my boss, Dean,â you grumble, but youâre already crawling onto the right side of his bed.Â
âNo,â he agrees, turning off the light and taking the space next to you, his gun still in his hand as he leans back on the headboard. âBut I am annoying, and unless you want me sneaking out to find the centaur, youâll stay.â
Itâs not the middle ground you expected, but it works. Thereâs no way you were leaving Dean alone after what just happened, anyway.Â
âYouâre not annoying,â you pout, the soft fabric of the blankets and the smell of Dean all around you making the exhaustion slam back into your body. âIâve never thought youâre annoying. Youâre just⌠protective. But itâs sweet, that you care so much.â
Thereâs a long moment of silence as you pull the blankets over you, trying to tug them from under Sam as the kid grunts.Â
Then Dean chuckles, head dropping forward and voice low. âWhatever you say, princess.â
The pet name always makes you blush, so you distract yourself with the tiredness weighing on your eyelids. You notice that thereâs only one pillow left, Sam claiming the other one, and before you can think of going to your room for an extra one, you notice that Dean still has his jacket on, and that he has no intent of letting go of the pistol.
âAre you even gonna sleep, De?â
He runs his thumb over the barrel of the gun, and you already know the answer. âIâll just stand guard, but you can rest.â
You huff, sitting up against the headboard and grabbing the knife from where youâd left it on the bedside table. Your shoulder is pressed to Deanâs as both of you stare at the closed door, now only illuminated by the moonlight.
Dean whispers your name. âYou donât have toââ
âBut I'm gonna.â Your words leave no room for debate, so Dean just clenches his jaw and lets you stay up with him.
The hours go by slowly, and by the time the sun rises and Bobby gets home, both Dean and you have finally fallen asleep with your backs still against the headboardâyour head on his shoulder as you still clutch Deanâs knife, his temple pressed to the top of your hair and his hand on your knee, his gun somewhere on the carpet.
The three of you make your way into the kitchen later that morning, all groggy steps and squinted eyes.Â
âHad a sleepover last night?â Bobby raises his eyebrow from where heâs washing the dishes. You and Dean both flush as you drop down into the dining chairs, still flustered from waking up all tangled up and with Sam grinning at you like the Cheshire Cat from the edge of the bed.Â
At the lack of response, Bobby just scoffs.Â
âAt least you didnât set the house on fire. The sheriff has enough to deal with right now.â
You frown down at your waffles, eyes shifting to the old man. âWhat happened?â
âSome drunk fucker stole a horse from the rodeo at the edge of town and stormed into the city, screaming somethinâ about the British coming or some crazy shit.â
For a moment, everything is dead silent. Then Sam and you erupt in laughter, and Dean stabs his waffle with his fork, glowering.Â
âWhat?â Bobby asks, confused, but he gets no answer. âWhatâs so freakinâ funny?â
Dean refuses to talk, and Sam and you canât catch your breath from how hard youâre laughing. Still, your hand finds Deanâs under the table, and when you squeeze once, his scowl breaks with a little beam. His thumb brushes against the back of your hand, and youâre convinced you will never love someone the way you love this boyâwith his sleepless nights and the shadows on his window.
âWhat did you kids do?!â
NOTES: thank you Taylor swift for writing another song about dean Winchester. thank you Bobby for being the boys' real dad. thank you anon for the request, hope it lived up to your expectations.

youâd always thought of him as sunshine.
everyone did.
even when he wasnât smiling, felix had that glowâwarm and unbothered, with freckles that danced across his cheeks like constellations and a voice that made people turn around just to hear him speak again. he was soft. gentle. sweet in that quiet, domestic way. the kind of boy who folded your laundry before you even remembered youâd done it.
even in bedâhe was gentle. worshipful. like every touch was a question and you were the only answer. he was all murmured praise, soft sighs, slow hands. he loved you softly. every time.
which is probably why no oneâincluding youâhad ever seen him mad.
not truly.
you were perched on the edge of the couch in the boysâ dorm, nervously fidgeting with the sleeve of your hoodie. it was felixâs, naturallyâoversized and warm and still faintly smelling like his laundry detergent.
you were here because youâd accidentally taken something you werenât supposed to. a usb, to be exact. felix had handed it to you earlier in the day along with your own, and in your rush to leave, youâd pocketed the wrong one.
âi just feel so bad,â you groaned, glancing toward the hallway. âhe said he needed it for something tonight. like, deadline-needed.â
seungmin was sprawled across the other end of the couch, legs kicked up, eyes on his phone. he barely glanced up as he responded.
âyouâre being dramatic.â
âno, likeâreally bad. i shouldnât haveââ
âhonestly?â he cut in, finally looking at you, a smirk tugging at his lips. âi donât think heâs even capable of getting mad at you.â
you blinked. âwhat?â
he chuckled, flipping his phone over. âi mean, come on. you could probably punch him in the face and heâd apologize for getting in the way of your fist.â
you laughed despite yourself. âthat is so not true.â
âisnât it?â
you opened your mouth to argueâbut then the front door opened.
felix stepped in, hoodie sleeves pushed up, hair slightly damp from the drizzle outside. his eyes found you immediately.
âhey,â you said, standing. âi brought itâsorry again, i seriously didnât meanââ
âshh.â he was already moving toward you, gentle hands coming up to cradle your arms, thumbs brushing soothingly against the fabric of his hoodieâthe one you were wearing. âdonât stress, angel. itâs okay.â
âbut you said you needed it for tonight,â you mumbled, guilt creeping up your spine. âi shouldâve double-checkedââ
âand i shouldâve labeled mine.â he gave a small laugh, pulling you closer, tucking your head under his chin with that easy warmth that always made your chest flutter. âitâs not a big deal. really.â
you swore you saw seungmin choke on a laugh in your peripheral vision.
your eyes flicked sidewaysâjust in time to catch him turning away, phone suddenly so interesting he mightâve been reading the terms and conditions. his shoulders were shaking, just barely.
felix either didnât notice or chose to ignore it.
âiâm gonna head out again to drop this off,â he said, voice still soft, fingertips lingering at your elbow for a second longer before letting go.Â
you nodded, brushing your hair back behind your ear. âright. of course.â
âthanks for coming all the way back,â he added, gaze warm and fond, like youâd just done something heroic instead of, you know, returning the thing you accidentally stole. he gave your arm one last squeeze. âtext me when you get home, yeah?â
âi will.â
then he was goneâdoor shutting behind him with that soft click that always left the room feeling quieter somehow.
and the very second it closed, seungminâs voice rang out from behind you.
âgod, that was disgusting.â
you turned.
âexcuse me?â
he didnât even look up from his phone. âyou took his drive and somehow walked away with a hug, and a thank you.â
you opened your mouth to argue.
then closed it.
âokay, butââ
ânope. donât justify it.â seungmin pointed his phone at the door.
you rolled your eyes, hoisting your bag over your shoulder, but the words stuck with you. warmed you a little too much. annoyingly so.
still, you couldnât help yourself.
âheâs still a person. heâs not, like⌠impervious to irritation.â you muttered, half to yourself, half to the room. âif i pissed him off enough, heâd crack,â
seungmin didnât even flinch. âtell me when that ever happens.â
you groaned, dragging your hands down your face. âyou know iâm gonna try to, just to prove you wrong.â
âmhm,â seungmin said flatly, not even looking up. â60 bucks. you have a week.â
â60 bucks,â you repeated. âiâm gonna find his limit,â you said, dead serious. âhe has to have one.â
âgood luck.â
youâd been thinking about it for daysâhow to do it, how to gently prod at the edge of felixâs emotional limits without actually hurting him. you werenât trying to be cruel. you just wanted to see something other than that unwavering calm, that endless warmth. you wanted to prove he could feel sharp things, too. that he wasnât made of clouds and soft blankets and chamomile tea.
jealousy. that was your angle.
was felix ever jealous? you genuinely didnât know. heâd never so much as blinked when people flirted with youâthough to be fair, youâd never exactly flirted back. you never had a reason to. you didnât want to.
but now, you needed a reaction.
just enough to light a spark. not enough to burn the house down.
so when your company hosted a casual dinner eventâopen to significant others and friendsâyou didnât hesitate to bring felix. he looked unfairly good that night, dressed in soft black slacks and a black button up that hugged his frame a little too well. his hand found yours under the table the second you sat down, thumb stroking slow, lazy circles against your palm like always.
you were seated at a long table with a mix of coworkers and guests, plates being passed around, wine glasses clinking gently, soft laughter filling the room.
he was beside you, of courseâclose and warm and always tuned in to you.
but the guy on your other side?
friendly. talkative. a little too charming in that âbusiness casualâ way. you leaned into it. not too obvious. just enough to let felix notice.
you laughed at something the guy saidâtilting your head just slightly, touching his arm in that way that could maybe be seen as flirty. maybe. you were careful. just close enough to the line to toe it, not cross it.
felix didnât say a word.
he was smiling, even. still soft-spoken. still squeezing your hand every now and then. still brushing your thigh under the table with his when he shifted in his seat. he even leaned in at one point and murmured, âyou okay?â
you nodded, playing it cool. âmhm. just chatting.â
felix grinned. that same soft, sunny smile that always made you feel like you were the only one in the room.
âalright,â he said, brushing your cheek with his knuckle before pulling back like nothing was even slightly off.
he went back to being quiet and polite. still engaged in the conversation going around the table, nodding at someoneâs story, chiming in with a laugh when appropriate. he didnât stiffen. didnât narrow his eyes. didnât even glance at the guy beside you like he might be competition.
you sat there smiling and nodding at whatever work guy was saying about his vacation to bali, but your stomach was knotting. tighter by the second.
because you knew what you were doing. you knew exactly how much you were leaning. exactly when you let your laugh ring just a little louder, your fingers trail just a little longer.
but felix wasnât reacting.
or at leastâhe wasnât reacting the way you expected.
he was just⌠him. gentle. warm. steady. and he couldâve been using this moment to get back at you.
there were plenty of chances. the woman across the table who complimented his accent. the one seated diagonally, sipping wine and laughing just a little too brightly at his jokes. one even asked him how his skin was so clear and if he worked outâwhich, in fairness, was a valid question.
felix didnât take the bait. he was polite, as always. gracious, even. gave small answers. thanked them with a nod and a soft smile. but he didnât engage.
didnât lean in. didnât flirt. didnât offer even a flicker of attention that could be mistaken as anything more than manners.
and slowlyâalmost like he was aware of your internal panic creeping inâhe started leaning in closer to you. gradually, without showiness. his knee pressed against yours beneath the table. then reached for his water glass and poured some into yours before you could even realize it was empty.
this wasnât going to work.
you werenât going to rattle him. you werenât going to get that flash of possessiveness, that glint of sharp jealousy in his eyes.
because felix didnât play games.
not with you.
he loved you out loud, completely, and without keeping score. he didnât need to punish you or mirror your actions to prove a point. he didnât flinch under pressure. he didnât crack under quiet provocations.
he just was. wholeheartedly. constant. grounded.
this wasnât going to work.
it had been a few days since the whole work dinner experimentâsince felix had gently, unknowingly, demolished your plan by doing absolutely nothing except love you the way he always did. respectfully. consistently. infuriatingly.
but you werenât done.
not yet.
jealousy didnât work, sure. but irritation? that had potential. everyone had a limit, and you were determined to find felixâs.
you were at his place nowâwell, technically his and seungminâsâkitchen lights warm, sleeves rolled up, and flour already dusting the countertop like early snow.
the goal today was mild sabotage. nothing irreversible. nothing that would actually ruin the cake. just⌠enough sugar to make it way too sweet. enough to maybe make him sigh. maybe scold you a little. maybe just something.
you waited until he stepped away to grab a new mixing bowl, and thenâquickly, quietlyâyou dumped in an extra quarter cup. maybe a little more.
by the time he came back, you were standing innocently with the spatula, âgently foldingâ the batter like you hadnât just committed a culinary crime.
he paused. looked at the bowl. then looked at you.
ââŚdid you add too much sugar?â
you blinked up at him. âno?â
he hummed. scooped a bit of batter on his finger. tasted it.
and thenâsmiled. not annoyed. just⌠amused.
âif you wanted it sweeter, you couldâve just told me,â he said, voice playful, handing you a towel to wipe your fingers off. âiâm gonna balance it so it doesnât taste like pure syrup.â
you sighed loudly, dramatic, flopping back against the counter. âthis is so annoying.â
he laughed and leaned past you to grab a lemon from the fruit bowl.
âgo chop up some of the fruit, okay? iâll deal with this.â
you looked at seungmin, who hadnât said a word. he gave you a look that screamed pathetic.
you stuck your tongue out at him and turned back to the cutting board, muttering under your breath.
great. jealousy failed. chaos failed. sugar sabotage failed. what were you supposed to do now? bake the cake upside down? hide the eggs?
you didnât know.
you really didnât know anymore.
your planâwhatever it had beenâwas unraveling, slipping through your fingers like flour dust in the air. and the worst part? you kind of⌠didnât want to push anymore. felix had been so patient, so kind through all of it, and suddenly, you just felt silly. immature. you had something good, and you were trying to poke holes in it just to see if it would leak.
lost in thought, you didnât even realize how close your fingers were to the blade until it was too late.
the knife slipped.
there was a sharp sting.
you yelped, the sound cutting through the warm haze of the kitchen as the knife clattered onto the counter and fruit scattered everywhere.
âah!â you gasped, clutching your hand. blood was already rising.
felixâs head snapped up instantly. âwhat happened?â
you stepped back, breath shallow. âiâi cut myselfââ
he was already there. crossing the kitchen faster than youâd ever seen him move, his hands reaching out to check your fingersâbut the moment he saw the blood, something in him shifted.
âwhat were you even doing?â he snapped, voice sharper than the knife that slipped. he grabbed a towel with jerky, frustrated movements, wrapping it around your wound with practiced precision but no softness. âwere you even paying attention?â
your lips parted, stunned. âiâi donât know, i was justââ
âyou werenât thinking,â he cut in, tone clipped.
his voice rose, not yelling, but full-bodied, biting. that low, velvety rasp he usually used to whisper sweet things into your ear was now slicing through the air like it had teeth.
âfor fuckâs sake,â he muttered, shaking his head, âi asked you to do one simple thing. not play with the goddamn knife.â
you stared at him, completely disarmed. not just by the tone. but by how he looked.
chest rising and falling under his fitted sweater, sleeves pushed back just enough to show the flex of his forearms. his jaw clenched, eyes dark with something deeper than just irritation. he looked⌠furious. unshakable. and so hot it was almost insulting.
your mouth went dry.
you couldnât stop staringâat the way felix was breathing, his tongue pressed against the inside of his cheek, like he was trying to bite back whatever else he wanted to say. his hands, still stained with flour, flexed at his sides. every muscle in his jaw was tense.
seungmin stood up, crossing the kitchen to the cabinet.
he grabbed the first aid kit, crouching beside the chair youâd sunk into. he opened it like this wasnât the most charged atmosphere heâd ever stood in. like felix hadnât just snapped for the first time in recorded history.
âhere,â he said, pulling out some antiseptic and a few band-aids. âdonât bleed on the tile. itâs ugly enough already.â
you gave him a weak glare, but he just smirked.
felix hadnât moved. he was still standing there, looking at the floor now, his expression twisted with something like regret.
seungmin didnât let up.
âyou got really worked up there, man,â he said, tone light but clearly pointed.
that finally made felix move. he blinked like he was coming out of something, then turned toward youâeyes wide now, softer, voice quiet.
âiâm sorry, babyâ he said.
you didnât say anything for a second. just stared at him, still a little stunned by the whiplash.
but even now, with his shoulders slumped and his tone apologetic, he still looked good. still had that raw energy simmering just under the surface. still had you simmering.
you swallowed hard.
âitâs okay,â you said slowly.Â
seungmin raised a brow but said nothing, silently peeling the wrapper off a band-aid.
felix crouched in front of you, his hand ghosting over yours. his voice was soft again, almost too soft.
âi wonât yell like that again,â he murmured.Â
you blinked at him, and for a secondâjust a secondâyou wanted to say donât promise that.
because god, the way his voice had cracked when he was angry. the way he looked at you like your carelessness hurt him. the way he shook with something that wasnât just rage, but deep, desperate concernâyou hadnât expected it to do something to you.Â
but he was still doing everything out of love.
even when his voice rose and his hands tightened and his eyes darkenedâhe was still the same felix. still checking if you were okay. still apologizing even though you had started this whole mess.
and somehow, that made it worse.
you hadnât even pissed him off correctly. not really. he didnât yell because you were annoying. he yelled because you were bleeding and he didnât know how else to handle the sudden fear curling in his gut.
and now he was kneeling in front of you, shame written in every line of his face, like he had done something unforgivable.
you wished he hadn't come down from it so fast.
you wishedâmaybe more than anythingâthat he knew he didnât have to keep being perfect for you to love him.
you didnât know what else to do.
jealousy had failed. sabotage had failed. even blood hadnât done it right. every attempt chipped at something inside youâyour confidence, your ego, your grasp on what you were even trying to prove. and yetâŚ
seungmin had texted you the evening of the baking incident:
[ that was a close one ] [ but it didnât count. try harder. ]
you'd stared at it for a long time. not because he was wrongâbut because you agreed.
so now? one last attempt.
if you couldnât get felix to be mad at you, then maybeâjust maybeâyou could make him lose control somewhere else.
which is why he was between your thighs right now.
you were sprawled across his bed, hips twitching, sheets clutched in your fists.
felix was eating you out like it was a mission. like you were something sacred, and he had all the time in the world to worship every inch of you.
his mouth was obsceneâlips slick, tongue working you open so slowly you wanted to scream. and he kept murmuring things between licks, low and reverent.
felixâs tongue traced a slow, reverent line up your slit, lips closing over your clit with a tenderness that made your hips twitch. he groaned softly into you, the sound vibrating through your core like a low hum of devotion, and his arms curled tighter around your thighs, anchoring you in place. every motion was soaked in patience, in worship. you were trembling, half mad with need already, and all heâd done was kiss you like he loved youâwhich, of course, he did.
âtaste so good, angel⌠always so sweet for me, arenât you?â
âf-felixâŚâ your voice broke on his name, hands knotted in the sheets. he just hummed again, content like he could spend the rest of his life here, lips gliding over your clit, tongue flicking in slow, perfect circles that had your thighs quivering. he was gentle, god, so gentle. like you were the only thing in the world worth touching delicately.
and maybe that was the problem.
you were panting, already so closeâtoo closeâand he hadnât even slipped a finger inside yet. you could feel your orgasm mounting fast, could feel the heat blooming in your belly, the ache curling in your spine, and you knew what would come next. heâd hold you through it. heâd kiss your thighs, murmur praise, make you feel like you were the center of the universe.
you were already trembling, one hand fisting in his sheets, the other tangled in his hair, breath coming in staggered whines. he didnât speed up. didnât deviate. tongue curling soft and hot over your clit again and again until your hips twitched and a ragged moan slipped out without your permission.
and then he paused. just for a second.
his eyes lifted to yours, warm and glassy, lips shiny with you.
âshhh, darlingâŚâ he whispered, and the way he said it made your stomach flip. âseungminâs in the living room, remember?â
your chest heaved. right. rightâhe always told you. always so careful to remind you, not because he was annoyed, but because youâd confessed onceâembarrassed and flushed, the sheet pulled up to your chin after a particularly loud sessionâthat you hated the idea of his roommate hearing. and since then, felix had always made sure to keep things quiet. to warn you. to soothe you when your voice got too high, your cries too desperate. heâd press a kiss to your throat, a hand to your mouth, shushing you.
but tonight, something twisted in you.
you werenât going to hold back.
so when his mouth dipped again, lips closing over your clit in a slow, gentle suck, you let it outâa high, shaky moan that cracked on the end, followed by a breathless, âfuck, felixâ!â
he froze.
lifted his head.
his mouth was still glistening, chin slick with you, flushed and beautiful in that way that always made your stomach twist. but his brows were drawn, just slightly, and his voiceâwhen it cameâwas low and firm, not scolding but edged with something new.
âhey.â his thumb stroked up your inner thigh, slow but deliberate. âquiet down.â
it wasnât a question. wasnât a soft reminder like before. it was a command.
and it did something to you.
your breath hitched, thighs twitching around his shoulders as the authority in his tone settled in your chest like a stone dropped into waterârippling outward, stirring everything.
still, something in you bristled.
not in defiance. not exactly.
but you couldnât stop yourself.
you pouted. just a little. âwhy?â
his eyes narrowed. there was a flicker of disbelief there, a tension that rippled beneath the surface like he didnât quite believe you were pushing this boundary.
âbecause seungminâs out there,â he said, slower this time, more deliberate, as if youâd forgotten. âand you hate being overheard.â
you shrugged, arching your back slightly, enough to grind your hips closer to his face again. âmaybe i changed my mind.â
his eyes flicked to your cunt, glistening and swollen and shamelessly on display, then back up to your face. his expression had shifted. no longer just disbelief. something darker had crept in nowâpossessive and sharp, curling like smoke at the edges of his voice.
âwell i donât want him to hear you.â
the words were quiet. flat. measured.
you blinked, breath catching.
âi donât want anyone hearing what you sound like when iâve got you like this,â he continued, leaning in until you could feel the heat of his breath against your inner thigh.Â
you bit your lip, the heat rising in your face. in your chest.
âbutâŚâ you started, trying to keep your tone airy. âyou always do what i want.â
that did it.
you watched his jaw clench tighter, watched the tension rise in his shoulders, watched the composure crack. just a little.
felix roseâslowly, smoothly, like a tide pulling back before it crashesâand settled over you, forearms bracketing your head, chest brushing yours as he leveled his face just above yours.
you felt it instantly.
that shift.
gone was the usual ease in his posture, the warm, pliant softness you always leaned into. what loomed above you now wasnât your sweet, sunny felixâit was the part of him he always held back, the part that simmered under the surface like magma, always contained, until you poked at it.
and tonight?
youâd done nothing but poke.
he leaned in again, slow, like a tiger in tall grass, and planted his palm flat against the mattress beside your head. his voice was soft now, but laced with something that made your spine archâauthority, finality, control.
âyou really think i donât know?â
you swallowed hard.
âthat youâve been bratty for days,â he said, like it was fact. like it was math. âflirting with that guy at dinner. cutting your hand because you couldnât stand that i didnât break. â
your cheeks flamed, breath catching, but you still held the edge in your smile.
âi was just distractedââ
his hand moved fast, gripping your jawânot hard, just enough to make you stop talking.
âdonât,â he said. âdonât give me that look.â
your heart kicked up behind your ribs. heâd never grabbed your face like that before. never interrupted. never spoke like that.
it made your thighs press together. instinctive.
and he noticed.
he dipped closer, forehead brushing yours, and you could feel his heart beating in time with yoursâhard, steady, controlled.
âyou think i havenât been watching you push?â he hissed. âevery little act.â
you whimpered, lips partingâbut he kept going.
âyouâve been begging for this,â he said, biting out the words. ânot out loud. but with every goddamn thing youâve done.â
you shivered.
âand you think i donât see you?â he growled. âyou think i donât know exactly what that look means?â
his hand grabbed your jaw, fingers firm, tilting your face toward hisâclose enough to kiss, but he didnât. he just held you there, breath brushing your lips, eyes burning through you.
âtell me the truth,â he said, voice a warning, a promise. âtell me what you want.â
you could barely breathe.
your voice came out thin, cracked around the edges. âyou, like thisâŚâ your eyes were wide, lashes wet, trembling as you looked up at him. âthis is what i want.â
felix didnât flinch.
didnât soften.
he just stared, his grip on your jaw unrelenting, eyes dark and unforgiving as they searched your faceâsaw the way you shook beneath him, the way your thighs pressed together, the way your chest rose and fell in shallow, panicked little gasps.
âof course it is,â he said flatly.
you blinked.
he tilted your face up a little more, enough that it hurt your neck to hold the position. his voice dropped, hard and disgusted. âlook at you. shaking like a leaf, soaking the fucking sheetsâjust because i stopped being nice.â
you winced.
but your cunt clenched hard.
the words cut. not because they were cruelâbut because they were true. and he knew it. you werenât just turned on. you were unraveling. dripping and desperate, your body buzzing from the tension, your shame crawling over your skin like fire antsâbut still, the burn felt good.
âyouâre pathetic,â he said, letting go of your jaw like your skin burned his fingers.Â
he pushed you back roughly, your bound wrists catching against the bed as your shoulders hit the mattress. his hands were already on your thighs, spreading them open without care. not reverent. not gentle.
like you were his and he was sick of pretending otherwise.
âyou want to be hated, donât you? love isnât enough for you?â he muttered, gaze locked on your slick cunt as he stroked two fingers through the mess between your legs.Â
your hips bucked.
âwell,â felix said, voice like gravel dragged slow across glass, âif thatâs what you wantâŚâ
his fingers sank into youâtwo at once, fast, merciless. your body jolted, a high cry tearing from your throat before you could stop it. he twisted his wrist, curled just right, and you felt the tremble start in your toes.
âiâll give it to you.â
you gasped, back arching. ây-you donât mean that,â you choked, words splintering on a sob. âyou love meââ
he laughed.
dark. sharp.
âiâm gonna fuck you like i donât.â he said, without softness.Â
his fingers pulled free. you barely had a second to breathe before he shoved your thighs wide, leaned over, and pressed his cock to your dripping cuntâstill wet from your own need, from the tears and the shame and the way his voice had stripped you bare.
he held there.
right at your entrance, the head of his cock teasing just enough to make you squirm, to make your hips buck in desperate little jerks that only dragged the moment out longer. he couldâve slammed in. couldâve torn the rest of you open in a single thrust, left you breathless and sobbing.
but he didnât.
because under all that dark fire, under the roughness and anger and heat, he was still him. still sweet. still good. still felix.
his jaw was tight, the muscle ticking as he looked down at youâruined and trembling, legs spread wide, wrists bound and face flushed with lust and tears and something more fragile. he blinked, and for a second, just a second, you saw the question flicker through his expression.
âis that what you want?â he asked.
his voice had dropped low. he was still offering you a way out. still giving you that choice.
you knew it for what it was.
you nodded, frantic. fast. moaning as you tried to roll your hips, tried to force him inside again, but his grip on your thigh only tightened.
âtalk to me,â he rasped, a thread of control still clinging to him.
you blinked at him through the haze, a smile curling on your lipsâhalf brat, half breathless.
âyes,â you said, voice thin and greedy. âyes, i want it. i want you to fuck me like youâre sick of me. like i finally got under your skin.â
he cursed.
low and vicious.
you saw itâthe moment that final wall crumbled, the way the storm in his eyes finally spilled over. his cock pushed in deep, slow at first, like he wanted to draw it out, make it last.
but then your cunt clenchedâtight and wet and fluttering around himâand he snapped.
âyou did,â he growled, pulling back and slamming in hard enough to make the bed jolt, your cry piercing the room. âyou fucking did.â
his hips snapped forward againâlouder this time, harder, brutal enough to knock the air from your lungs, the rhythm punching out soft, choked sounds from your throat with every thrust. not words. not anymore. just ragged little whimpers, helpless and high, your whole body jostling beneath him as he used youâfucked youâwith none of the gentleness youâd always known.
âyou wanted this,â he spat, chest heaving, sweat dripping from his hairline onto your chest as he folded you tighter, pushing your thighs up toward your shoulders to drive in even deeper. âyou fucking asked for it.â
you sobbedâquiet at first, then louder, messy and wet as the tears finally spilled. they streaked hot down your cheeks, dripping into your hair, your jaw slack with pleasure too sharp to feel good and too good to survive. your wrists twisted uselessly in their binds, fingers curling tight as your whole body tried to keep up with the pace of him.
it was too much.
it was everything.
he growledâan actual growl, raw and gutturalâas he looked down at you, at the tears rolling over your cheeks, at the way your mouth opened and closed, begging silently for something neither of you could name.
his rhythm never faltered.
not once.
even as your body broke beneath himâhips arching, wrists straining, cheeks soaked with tears that burned like proofâhe kept going. kept fucking you with that same relentless pace, hips slamming against the backs of your thighs, the sound obscene, wet and cruel in the dark.
he watched your face twist with every thrustâwatched you come apart, watched the edge of pleasure curdle into panic and drag you right back down into need.
and even thenâyou didnât stop.
you couldnât stop.
your lips trembled open around another sob, your voice half-hoarse, but still you met his glare with a shaky smirk, eyes glazed and bratty to your last breath.
âi never knew you were capable of being mean,â you gasped, voice cracking as you arched under him.
he snarled, something between pain and disbelief, and slammed in so deep you screamed, your entire body jolting up the bed from the force of it.
âbecause i love you,â he growled, voice so low it scraped the inside of your chest. âiâve only ever tried to treat you well. like you matter. like youâre everything to me.â
he leaned in closer, one hand pressing hard into your hip, the other curling around your throat.
âbut thatâs not what you wanted, was it?â
you sobbed. not an answer. just a broken, keening sound.
he dipped lower, lips barely brushing yours. âyou wanted this. you wanted me mean. you wanted me to use you, and now youâve got it.â
his cock dragged out slow, thick and achingâand then drove back in so hard your moan broke on your tongue.
âyou never wanted soft.â
you blinked up at him, tears hot and sticky down your temples, your mouth quivering.
âi wasââ you panted, a hiccupped cry catching in your chest, âi was trying to prove a pointââ
he sneered, not stopping, not relenting, pounding into you like he wanted to fuck the brat right out of your soul.
âto who, y/n?â he hissed, words snapping like whips.
you moanedâhigh and messy and wrong, because you were still so turned on, because the way he said your name made your body sing even while you trembled.
âwho?â he shouted again, voice rising with disbelief and something deeperâsomething unspoken that cracked open in his throat like it hurt to say.
and you said it.
whimpered it.
half-mindless, but not mindless enough.
âseungmin.â
felix went still.
then he laughed.
it was low. bitter. a hollow bark of disbelief as his hand slid up the length of your thigh, slow and mocking, his cock still throbbing just barely inside you.
âfucking knew it,â he muttered, more to himself than you, jaw tight as he gave a small, almost deranged shake of his head. âyou and him. the way you bicker. the looks.â
his hand curled around your throat again, thumb dragging over the mess of tears smeared across your cheek. not to wipe them.
just to feel them.
âand of course youâd moan his name out while iâm balls deep in you.â
you gasped, breath stuttering under the press of his palm, legs twitching around his hips.
he laughed againâsharper now, teeth flashing in the low light. âfucking pathetic.â
you whimpered.
âhere i am,â he snarled, voice dropping to a whisper, âtreating you like youâre mineâspending months giving you everything. folding your laundry. holding you when you cry.â
he slammed into you again, cruel and sudden.
you screamed, head snapping back.
âand youâve been pushing me,â he said, voice quiet, almost calmâbut beneath it, something was cracking. something brittle.Â
another thrust, hard and fast, punching a choked cry out of your lungs.
âall of that just to prove a point to kim seungmin?â
your mouth dropped openâuseless, silent, your head lolling on the pillow as his cock hit that deep, devastating spot again and again, your body unable to hide how badly you were still enjoying it.
he sneered. âdo you even understand what youâre doing?â
your eyes flicked to himâblurry, swimming, lashes soakedâand your lips moved, trying to form a denial. but you couldnât lie.
not with your cunt sucking him in so greedily. not with the moans that still clawed up your throat even when you bit down on them. not with the guilt chewing holes through your stomach while your body begged for more.
âiâi wasnât tryingââ you whispered, but he cut you off.
âyou werenât trying?â
he laughed. dark and sharp and filled with something that sounded like it hurt his ribs to release.
âgod, youâre worse than i thought,â he spat, pulling out just enough to let the next thrust slam in deeper. âyou donât even know what game youâre playing. youâre playing me, youâre playing himââ
you didnât know anymore.
if he was really mad. if this was just another version of his anger wrapped in arousal, or if something had actually shattered under the weight of everything youâd done. you couldnât tell if he meant the things he saidâor if he was just saying them because it was what youâd asked for, begged for, pushed for until something inside him snapped.
all you knew was that your head was spinning, your lungs barely worked, and your body couldnât stop trembling around him.
âiâm close,â you whimpered, your voice a rasp, broken and high and soaked in panic, âfelixâpleaseââ
he didnât slow. if anything, he fucked you harder.
you were sobbing now, face sticky with tears, wrists straining in the binds as your body shook from the pressure curling tighter and tighter in your belly.
âi donât think you deserve to cum,â he hissed, biting the words like they tasted foul. ânot after what you did. you little bitch.â
the word slapped.
âiâm sorry,â you cried, the words tumbling out, raw and hoarse and true. âiâm sorry, i didnât meanâi didnâtâfelix, please, iâm sorryââ
and for a second, just a second, something shifted in his face.
his brow twitched. his grip faltered. his eyesânot all the way, but just a littleâsoftened.
he looked down at you, at your flushed face, your tear-soaked skin, your body trembling and still trying to push back against him, even through the guilt, even through the shame. begging for him.
he cursed under his breath. a low, ragged sound.
then he pulled out.
you whinedâsharp and instinctive, your whole body lurching, chasing him.
ânoâpleaseââ
but he grabbed your hips and flipped you, fast and rough, until you were flat on your stomach, then dragging you up to your knees with no gentleness, no care.Â
he leaned in, lips at your ear, voice back to that quiet, dangerous whisper.
âall fours.â
you scrambled to obey, tears still dripping from your chin onto the sheets, your ass high, back arched, your pussy swollen and dripping and empty.
he stared for a long second.
then, flatly:
âprove it. prove your sorry.â
he didnât move.
not even a little.
just knelt behind you, one hand resting heavy on your lower back, the other wrapped around the curve of your assâfingers digging in, spreading you open so wide the air hit your cunt like ice. his cock stood thick and flushed against your thigh, glistening with everything heâd already taken from you. close. so close.
but he didnât move
âyou want to cum so badly?â he said, voice low and flat, unreadable, like it didnât matter either way. âthen do it yourself.â
your breath caught.
you blinked, stunned.
he gripped your ass harder, a sharp squeeze that made you jolt forward, but he didnât move to stop you.Â
âcome on,â he said, the cruelty now bitter instead of sharp. âyou were so good at playing games earlier.â
your whole body shook.
you whimpered onceâjust one broken soundâand then moved. slowly. shamefully.
you rocked your hips back. tentative at first. your slick folds kissed the head of his cock and you moaned, soft and strangled, before pushing further, inching down onto him until the stretch began to burn again.
it wasnât graceful. it wasnât like when he took care of you.
it was work.
every inch felt like a trial. your legs trembled under the weight of it, thighs threatening to give out as you lowered yourself onto him, your breath coming in ragged sobs, your cunt pulsing with how close you were, how desperately your body wanted him to take over.
but he didnât.
âmake yourself cum,â he snapped, voice tighter now.Â
you nodded, rocking your hips againâsliding down fully this time, burying him inside, your body jerking as your sob turned to a long, high cry. your knees were slipping, your arms too bound to help you balance, and every time you moved your hips, your body twitched with the effort.
he just watched.
watched you ride his cock without rhythm, without graceâjust need. just ruin. his hands stayed on your ass, holding it open, holding you wide for him to see.
but he didnât help.
you were doing it alone.
âfelix, i canâtââ
âyou wanted this.â
and so you kept going.
kept fucking yourself back on him, over and over, your movements messy and broken, your body trembling with the weight of everything youâd doneâeverything youâd wanted.
and as you cried, he gripped your ass harder, dragging his thumbs over the skin, watching your hole stretch around him like it was all you were good for.
your thighs were giving out.
completely.
each roll of your hips got weaker, sloppierâyour knees buckling inward, your movements more tremble than thrust, the sheer weight of him inside you unbearable.Â
your arms were still bound, chest pressed into the sheets, your cries muffled nowâraw and constant, more sob than soundâas you tried to keep going. but your body wouldnât move.Â
you shook your head, weakly, voice cracking as you rasped, âiâi canât⌠i canât do itâŚâ
you felt his exhale firstâlong and deep. then the weight of his hands on your hips shifted. and his voice followed, low and so done.
âof course you canât.â
you shivered.
âyou couldnât even fuck yourself properly,â he muttered, hands gripping your hips with new purpose. âyou begged for this. cried for it. ruined both of us trying to prove somethingâand now you canât even finish what you started?â
you sobbed but that was all he gave you time for. because he snapped his hips forward. you screamed, head slamming into the pillow, the thrust knocking your whole body up the bed.
and then he didnât stop.
he fucked into you from behind, deep and punishing, dragging you back onto his cock with every stroke, the sound of skin on skin wet and violent, your cries rising in pitch until you couldnât hold anything in anymore.
âisnât this what you wanted?â he growled, voice right at your ear now, one hand on the back of your neck, the other gripping your waist so tight it burned. âto get used like this? to cry on my dick and act like youâre sorry?â
your throat was raw, your eyes stinging, your body screaming with the oncoming wave, your orgasm building so hard it almost felt like pain.
âfelixâfuckâiâm gonnaââ
his pace didnât stutter.
didnât falter.
âyeah?â he breathed, his voice a rasp, full of hate and heat and something so possessive it twisted your stomach. âthatâs right.â
his thrusts turned vicious, his cock pounding into you, his voice ragged and shaking.
âcum then.â
and you did.
you came with a screamâfull-bodied, wrecked, your spine arching like it was trying to tear free from your skin. it hit so hard you thought for a second you might black out. your pussy clamped down around him, fluttering and pulsing in rhythmic spasms, gushing slick down his cock in hot, wet waves that soaked your thighs and his lap and the sheets beneath you.
felix groanedâa sound ripped from the very pit of his chest, primal and deep, his pace faltering for the first time as he felt it. felt you soak him. felt you break.
âfuckââ he hissed, slamming into you againâchasing it now, rutting through the mess of your orgasm, the loud slap of his hips against your soaked skin. âyouâre dripping, babyâfuck, youâre making such a messââ
you sobbed into the sheets, body twitching, overstimulation crawling up your spine like static. but he didnât stop. wouldnât let up. not now. not after all of it.
and thenâslowly, like the fire had finally started to burn itself outâhis rhythm began to falter. just a little. his groans turned heavier, strained, his thrusts rougher but less precise. his body hunched forward, chest heaving, cock throbbing inside you as he buried himself one last time.
he shuddered against your back, hips twitching as he came inside of you, the warmth of it spilling deep and raw, filling you in heavy bursts. he stayed there for a moment, his hands slowly loosening their grip on your hips, breath ghosting against your shoulder.
then, gently, slowly, his body folded over yours.
his forehead pressed to the space between your shoulder blades. his chest to your back. one hand slid forwardâshaky, tentativeâand rested just beneath your ribs.
he stayed there, breathing with you.
then, without a word, he eased back.
his chest lifted off yours, his grip on your hip released fully, and for a moment, the loss of contact felt colder than the air in the room. he slid one palm down the arch of your spine, a soft, absent stroke. then came the slow shift of his hipsâhis cock slipping out, careful and deliberate, so tender in contrast to everything before.
you whimpered from the loss and the messâhis cum already spilling out of you in lazy drips, sliding down your thighs, thick and warm, clinging to the backs of your knees as gravity pulled it down. you twitched from the sensitivity, your body still trembling in little aftershocks, your hips useless, your arms limp where they lay tangled and bound under your chest.
you heard the faint shuffle of a drawer, the rustle of fabric, the hiss of warm water being poured. your eyes fluttered closed, head sinking into the pillow, your whole body too loose to lift.
you barely registered the soft wet cloth between your thighs until it was thereâwarm, soothing. he held you gently, one hand under your hip to tilt you, the other cleaning you with slow, careful strokes, wiping away the slick, the sweat, the release still dripping out of you.
he then settled you on clean sheets, wrapped a new blanket over your shoulders.
still nothing.
not a single word.
but he lay beside you, close but not pressed in, his fingers brushing soft through your hair, over your temple, down the curve of your jaw. you blinked slow and you opened your eyes.
and there he was.
your felix.
bathed in the low light of the room, hair a tousled halo of gold against the pillow, freckles blooming soft across his cheeks, lips pink and parted just barely. he looked tired. beautiful. like something that shouldnât exist outside a dream.
you loved it. all of it. the softness now. the brutality before.
the way he made space for every version of you. the way he let himself be more than just the sun.
âi love you, felix.â
his hand stilled, resting against your cheek. his eyes softened then blinked, and they turned glassy.
âi love you too,â he whispered, his voice low, husky, still thick with the weight of everything.
you gave a little smile, lids already starting to droop again, your limbs heavy under the blanket heâd wrapped around you.
âi wouldnât want you any other way,â you murmured.
that made him laughâquiet, breathless, a sound like surrender.
and then you laughed too. barely a sound, more breath than voice, your smile curling into the pillow as your eyes slipped closed again.
he stayed beside you.
his fingers returned to your hair, softer than ever now, smoothing it back from your face as your breathing evened out, your body finally letting go.
and when you fell asleep, it was in silence.
the next morning, you woke slowlyâwarm, sore in all the right places, and still tangled in the soft scent of felix. the sheets around you were a little crooked, the pillow beside you empty.
you blinked blearily and reached for your phone, but it wasnât the screen that caught your eye.
there was a note. folded and sitting neatly on the nightstand.
recording right now, but iâll be back soon. pour yourself a cup of coffee. i love you! â lix âĄ
you smiledâsmall, sleepy, still a little ruined from the night before. the words made your chest ache and flutter all at once. he hadnât said anything heavy. no apologies. no over-explanations. just soft and simple. just felix.
you stretched out your limbs, wincing slightly at the ache before dragging yourself out of bed and into one of felixâs oversized sweaters and boxers.Â
barefoot and quietly smug, you padded down the hallway into the kitchen.
and there he was.
seungmin.
leaning against the counter in sweats and a hoodie, eyes fixed on his phone, coffee half-drunk on the table beside him. he looked up when he heard youâexpression unreadableâand you did what anyone would do after getting absolutely obliterated in the next room over by his bandmate.
you pretended nothing happened.
âmorning,â you said, voice light, moving straight to the coffee pot. âdidnât think youâd be up.â
âiâve been up,â he said simply.
you nodded and reached for a mugâfelixâs, the pale blue one with the tiny chip in the rimâand poured yourself a cup. steam curled up around your face, and you focused on it like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
and then you felt it.
his presence. he stepped closer. closer.
you didnât dare turn around.
then, casuallyâlike it was nothingâhe reached over your shoulder and set something on the counter in front of you.
sixty bucks in cash.
you stared at the bills for a second.
then turned.
slowly.
seungmin was already taking a sip of his coffee, eyes flicking to yours over the rim of his mug.
âcongrats.â
your mouth twitched, the corner pulling into the smallest smile.
you looked down at the cash again and without saying anything, you plucked the bills off the counter and shoved them straight into the front pocket of felixâs hoodie like youâd just been handed your trophy.
âyou really thought i wouldnât pull it off?â you asked, turning back to your coffee, tone breezy.
âi hoped you wouldnât,â he deadpanned. âi was rooting for the soft boy.â
you huffed a laugh, lifting the mug to your lips. âheâs still soft.â
seungmin gave you a long, dry look.
you shrugged, eyes twinkling over the rim. â...just not all the time.â
he snorted.
then leaned back against the counter, sipping slow from his mug. âso,â he said casually, âhowâd you do it?â
âdo what?â
âmake him snap.âÂ
you licked your lips, fighting another smile. âi mightâve⌠slipped your name in there a few times.â
his eyes narrowed, slow. âyeah?â
âjustâit got him pretty worked up.â you said, laughing as you set the mug down. seungmin stared for a beat.
thenâhe rolled his eyes. âof course it did.â
there was a long pause. not uncomfortable. just tension.
he said, quiet but clear, âtell him he doesnât have anything to worry about.â
you nodded.
âi will.â
you stepped back slowly, letting the silence hold, and turned toward the hallwayâwhen the front door clicked open.
both your heads turned.
felix stepped in, hair tied back, hoodie sleeves bunched at his elbows, a little windblown from the walk. his eyes lit up the moment he saw you.
âhey, angel,â he said, smile so warm it melted straight into your ribs.
you crossed the room in a few slow steps, rising onto your toes to meet him halfway. your hand curled around his jaw, thumb brushing the skin just below his cheekbone, and you kissed him.
his other hand found your waist immediately, like muscle memory, pulling you in as he smiled against your lips. he pulled away just enough to wrap his arms around you, tucking you into his chest. his chin rested lightly on top of your head, breath warm as it fanned through your hair.
you melted into him, your hands slipping under the hem of his hoodie, fingertips grazing the bare skin at his waist. his heart beat steady against your cheek, and you let yourself breathe him in.
then, behind you, a shift in the air.
felixâs gaze liftedâover your shoulder.
met seungminâs across the room.
you didnât see what was unraveling between the two of them.
after a moment, you pulled back slightly, enough to tilt your head and meet his eyes.
felix looked down at you with a smile. and that was all you needed.
Once again thinking about: "He was only fifteen-" "I'm fifteen!"
Imagine being Harry and finding out that one of the worst people you've ever met who does nothing but belittle and degrade you, who has become the antithesis of everything you aspire to be, is the victim of the exact person you believed to be the gold standard.
Because for years, everyone was telling Harry one thing about James while Snape was saying another and, for years, Harry had been comfortable believing Snape was the one who was wrong.
So, imagine being Harry and all you have left of your parents is the memories people choose to share with you, so you take all the scraps and make this Frankenstein idealistic version of your parents because, for a moment, it makes you feel like you actually know them.
And then, just in case you forgot, reality reminds you in maybe the worst way that you don't know these people at all.

âYou donât get itâwe need to be fuckable!â Haechan stresses, and you roll your eyes in exasperation.
âHaechan, youâre already fuckable.â you explain calmly, and he opens his mouth in preparation for some witty remark, but after processing your words, his eyes widen and his mouth hangs open uselessly, his accusingly pointed finger now pointing meekly at the floor at an angle.Â
âIâSoâso you would fuck us?â he stammers, and you nod slowly, looking from him to Jaemin.
âWhy do you think I let you get away with your numerous dorm violations?â you snort in amusement, and he blinks hard.
âI thought you just took pity on us, yâknow? Like you had a soft spot for nerds or something.â
âI donât have a soft spot for nerds.â you answer. âI have a soft spot for hot nerds, though.â
His mouth opens and closes pathetically as his normally quick-witted brain scrambles to process the information youâve just presented to him. Jaemin is quicker to act, sitting forward so suddenly the move could be considered as predatory, and youâre not sure if itâs the lighting reflecting off of his glasses or what, but there is most definitely a glint in his eye as he regards you, his lips gradually stretching into a toothy grin.
âSo you let us get away with stuff? Because you like us? Like what?â he questions, and you tilt your head to the side as you think.Â
âYour candles, for starters. Haechanâs tapestry, your many many noise complaints from your neighbors when you two get too heated as youâre gaming,â you start to list off on your fingers, and you cross one leg over the other, not missing the way both of their eyes shift to your newly exposed skin and howâŚÂ hungry they look. âThe way youââ you point at Haechan, âalways try to get away with looking up my skirt.â
Haechanâs face flushes a pretty shade of red, and you smile, amused, as he scrambles to defend himself. Before he can, you hold up a hand to silence him.Â
âHaechan?â
âYes?â he replies meekly.
âIf I minded, I would have said something by now. I certainly wouldnât have kept wearing skirts and accidentally flashing you.âÂ
His eyes roll back into his head with a whimper and he nods in understanding.Â
âAnd youââ you round on Jaemin, whoâs still perched like a lion about to pounce, and the male just smiles wider, tilting his head to the side curiously.
âWhat about me?â
âYou probably think youâre slick with the little lingering touches on my back and waist when youâre âtrying to get by,â but I only let you do that because I like it.â
His grin widens more than you even thought possible, the glint in his eye now unmistakable. âOh, yeah? Where else do you like being touched?â
âI mean,â you hum, uncrossing your thighs and smiling as both of their gazes hone in on the space between your legs, âI could tell you, but I think youâd rather have me show you.â
âI have a better idea,â Jaemin murmurs, moving towards you slowly. âHow about you let us find out?â
