About Us
Regeneration is a GCSE Media project that looks at deteriorated areas in the local community and comes up with ways in which we can make use of these areas in ways that will benefit the community. Our group decided to regenerate a section of our school called a “quad”. We don’t really use the quads to their full potential so we came up with the idea of turning one of the bigger ones into a year 11 common room. This would benefit the whole of the school eventually, as each pupil progresses to year 11. After researching similar projects, we came up with the idea of putting a dome over the quad as it’s an open space. This would give it security and all-year use. Then, we made a collage of things we would like to put inside our dome. We have images of seating and facilities. Following a questionnaire, we learnt that year 11 pupils would really value a space of their own in which to work and relax. The idea proved very popular and they were disappointed it was just a media project! We then designed 3 posters each to promote our dome zone. After drawing them out, we tried to recreate them on photoshop, which you can see examples of on our main blog. This blog is a mock up promotion for our dome. None of what you see is really happening.
