The gun epidemic in America is really, really, really scaring me. So in honor of pride month, I suggest that the LGBTQIA community start rubbing our gay little hands all over gun culture. If we ‘ruined marriage’ for them, maybe we could ruin guns for them too??? Like after gun nuts accepted that even children dying wouldn’t make them change, Idk what else could possibly ever.

Self defence moves don’t always require physical strength. A hearty uppercut can knock someone out easily. And if they dont have a gun, that makes it easier to get close enough to use that move.
Uppercuts require a ton of strength, they’re also incredibly difficult to land, and require a huge opening.
But if they do have a gun so do I. And if they don’t, well, I still do.
It seriously flabbergasted by these people (who i’d bet the farm have never been in a real fight) think it’s so remarkably easy to take out attackers.
I had one goon tell me not too long ago that anyone including a 100lb woman can take down a 300lb+ guy jacked on PCP with even the most basic of self defense skills

These people have never had to seriously fight someone a lot bigger than them. You can be a master black belt in every sport but if someone with 200lbs on you gets a hit in you’re done. End of story. Most people don’t even know how to throw a proper punch let alone know how to successfully defend themselves against a stronger opponent.
You’re more likely to hurt your hand aiming for the face and jaw than you are to hurt them seriously. Go for joints and squishy bits, not solid bone.
And if you do have to hit someplace hard, try using the heel of your hand, not a fist. More padding.

if a bantamweight guy took a single punch from tyson, ali, foreman or frazier they’d fucking be done, and those are sports with rules!

Just wanted to add to @pixieisonline that an uppercut is THE least efficient and weakest hitting punch you could throw, especially against someone who is bigger and taller than you.
Not only are you only using your bicep and shoulder muscles to drive it without the torque of pivoting your hips and torso that you’d get from a straight, but a good portion of the power you do have in it is used to fight against gravity. On top of all that, the windup is incredibly long and obvious, so it’s very easily dodgable, or worse, catchable. And if someone bigger than you and twice your weight grabs a hold of your wrist, it’s over.
Real life is not a movie or a video game. If you don’t want to use a weapon, fine, but please, for your own sake, learn some self defense, and for the sake of others, stop spreading misinformation that could get people hurt.

self defense is all well and good but sis when people have easy access to literal assault riffles then maybe we should reconsider our policy on guns and gun control
you want a pistol or glock or whatever good cool fine those are self defense weapons but the fact of the matter is it’s the access to assault riffles and other auto/semi auto guns that are being used to kill literal kids in our country those guns serve no purpose other than to do as much damage as fast as possible if i see someone with a handgun my thought is oh they prob are cautious if i see someone with a huge ass semi auto my first thought is to text my mom i love her and that i’m going to die…

1- The term you’re looking for is “Assault Rifle”, not “Assault riffle”. It also does not apply to semi-automatic weapons. 2- Americans do not have ‘easy access’ to assault rifles. Look up the NFA, the Hughes Amendment, and the GCA. 3- If your first thought upon seeing someone with a rifle, who is not acting in any way shape or form in a hostile fashion, is to react with fear and tell people you are going to die, then the issue is not the person carrying the weapon- it’s you. Your reaction is out of proportion, and such reactions are the reason why people like tamir rice and john crawford III are killed (People calling cops claiming, in terror, that someone is ‘wielding a dangerous weapon’ despite it not being the case, causing trigger-happy jackboots to show up and open fire without asking questions) 4- Statistically speaking, handguns are used in THOUSANDS more killings per year than rifles of any type (semi-auto, lever action, bolt action, single shot COMBINED). It’s openly available information published by the FBI every year. 2017 is the most recently compiled. As you can see, rifles of ALL SORTS COMBINED were used in 403 killings, while handguns were used in 7,032. Consider also that many home invasions and assaults are not a single individual, but large groups of assailants (my own home invasion was 3 men my size or larger armed with blunt weapons). Factoring in that even trained professionals achieve a MAXIMUM of 60% accuracy with full adrenaline dump, it’s entirely reasonable for a person to desire a longarm with a detachable boxmag of ~30 rounds, and a cartridge with a good chunk of power behind it.
