Proud Moment
This morning during sparring class, something special happened. After about 12 rounds, one of my students landed a perfectly timed front kick. It was so clean and effortless that I couldn’t help but feel proud. It was a moment that reminded me of why I do this—to help my students grow and improve. I know some might feel challenged in that situation or feel the need to prove themselves, but for me, it was a confirmation that I’m on the right path. My goal has always been for my students to surpass me, just as my Sensei taught me. There’s something truly fulfilling in seeing the people you teach excel at something you love.
