Tough couple of days
Really hard not to crack a beer and say fuck it. Really bad headaches and felt terrible for first two days without grains or sugar or booze. That combined with the fact our dog was sick and had to be put down made it very hard. Didnt crack and I am down 4lbs this morning and looking forward to the gym tonight. I feel so better being there when things arent quite right in the world. Thanks for all your kind words on Facebook as well.
Out with the crap
Linda gathering all the sauces with sugar etc to be chucked. Gonna make some paleo ketchup later today. Maybe some bbq sauce too. Anyone do their baseline today?

Best of luck
Good luck to all of the competitors of the most recent challenge. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family's that have to put up with you.
Keep at it everyone!
It has been 4 weeks since I crawled out of the gym. Back to about 70% I figure and have started to work out with light weights and doing lots of stretching. Can't believe how quick it goes when you stop.
Thanks to Debra Stanley for the acupuncture sessions, really helped alot.
Miss you guys a ton and hope to be back in a couple more weeks.
Check out the author of this fine recipe. Just sayin
Is this Paleo?
Granulated Organic Coconut Sugar

Rhonda was asking about the stew recipe I was gonna do today. Nothing like a stew on a rainy day. I got the recipe from Paleo Diet Life Style. http://paleodietlifestyle.com

Hearty beef stew recipe
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 lb stewing beef;
2 tbsp paleo cooking fat;
4 cups beef stock;
1 cup onion, chopped;
1 cup celery, chopped;
3 carrots, peeled and chopped;
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed (optional);
1 28oz can diced tomatoes;
½ tsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped;
½ tsp fresh thyme, finely chopped;
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste;
Preparation
In a large saucepan over a medium-high heat, combine the onions, celery, carrots, potatoes, if using, as well as the cooking fat. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the beef to the saucepan, followed by the tomatoes, beef stock, rosemary and thyme. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Cover the saucepan and cook for about one hour, allowing the stew to simmer. Stir a few times during the cooking process.
Remove the lid and cook uncovered for about 45 minutes. If the mixture is too thick at the end of the cooking process, you can add a little bit of water or stock.
Well I sucked today
Thank god its time to say goodbye to Monday. Signed into the wrong class, couldn't squat a small child today and lets not talk about my pitiful double unders.
Cindy kept saying do singles which were even difficult. Anyway new day tomorrow and hopefully Shawn can kick my ass into gear.
Goodnight and keep on rocking in the free world!
Weekend over
Like Rhonda, I too was involved in a hockey tournament this weekend. Mine was away in Peterborough and I did amazing on the food. Brought a full cooler of food and managed to eat Paleo the entire weekend.
I did however fall off the Paleo wagon Saturday evening with the booze. Grey Goose was calling me all frigin day and I just couldn't say no. I ended up showing most of the team's parents what a hand stand pushup was at 1am. Good practice for this week.
Linda ordered the coconut wraps and they were delivered Friday. Not sure I will get used to the texture though. Kinda like eating a piece of plastic. I will try them in our sandwich press and see how they toast up
Looking forward to the gym this week after three days away.
challenge goals
Day 2 so far so good feel better than yeaterday. Gonna be a tough weekend though. In Peterborough for kids hockey. i have a cooler fool of food but it will be the booze that will be tough.
ok my goals cause Cindy says this just for ass comments. 11 percent body fat. thats it. oh ya and to win this mother!
Sleep well everyone and see ya at the gym.
End of Day One.
Was excited to do the baseline WOD today and I did ok.
Ordered a coffee with milk this afternoon. Force of habit so that went in the garbage. Black is pretty good. Who knows I might not go back.
I am kinda hurting though, I gotta be honest. Tough week but I will survive.
Working out with all of you has made me realize how damn hard it actually is to be fit and strong. These "abs in 6 weeks" emails I get from Men's Health Magazine can go FCKU themselves.
Looking forward to a big breakfast tomorrow and another workout at the CRUX.
Best of luck to everyone, you are all winners except those not on my team!
