Wani the kobold butler. Well into his adulthood at eight years old, Wani left the kobold caverns to escape the obsession with family lines and lineages and matchmaking.

He spent some time as a newsboy, as Wani is just a little guy and kobolds never really grow out of the uniform. But print news was a dead medium, slain in pitched battle by a wizard.

So he decided wizards were the future and applied to be the butler of Vincent the Very Vain, Wizard of West Winnepeg.

Organizing a wizard's labyrinthine and dread domicile is a big task for a little guy but Wani has grit and determination and no desire to go back home to the caverns.

He will die, proudly of old age or accident in a prestigious job or he will die, having failed Vincent the Very Vain, Wizard of West Winnepeg, for the last time.

Wani is a character I created for a novel I was Nanowrimo-ing. I never finished it, although I had a strong idea of where I was going. But then I read Dungeon Crawler Carl and it ate my entire lunch so now the novel is on pause while I reevaluate and/or wait for the enthusiasm to return.

I have a lot of writing projects in various stages of not complete and not actively being written. Goldfish in a Labyrinth will simply sit on the pile, slumbering until the time is right. Or until I learn to finish things.
