Guys with the recent news of Paramount maybe being the one buying WB I just wanted to remind everyone that in like ten years Batman and Superman (their first appearances in detective comics and action comics) become part of the public domain and by 2040 Robin (Dick Grayson), Joker, Clayface, and other characters like Wonder Woman will become public domain too.

Don't despair, one day we will be publishing Superbat period pieces.

this is barely related to that other rant so i'm making a new post about this

Jason actually having a father/son relationship with Bruce while Batman and Robin isn't exactly that kind of dynamic by default and actually the father/son relationship actively makes being Batman and Robin more... complicated i guess is the word, is actually crucial to understanding his mindset when he comes back as the Red Hood in UTRH.

Understanding that Jason at the time of his death and the time of his resurrection was Bruce's only son while also in the context of the lead up to DITF being a storyline where Bruce explicitly iterates to Jason that the duty of one's father is to avenge their children means understanding that Jason wants Bruce to kill the Joker as a father whose son was murdered and not as Batman who lost a Robin, and no other ideological reason Jason may posit for why he had the mother of all crashouts is more important than the fact that as far as he's concerned his father watched him die and his father stopped trying to put the guy who did it in the dirt.
