Ellen shrugged her shoulders, “Okay, but don’t say I didn’t offer.” She laughed, knowing they would never take her up on her offer. “I actually like seeing you both breathing, so good choice with not taking that offer.” She laughed, “But I would be happy to come to you guys wedding just let me know when and where.” She looked at the prompter and knew it was time to go “Well that’s all the time we have, I want to thank my guest, the future Mr. and Mrs. Hough! We’ll be right back.” They went to commercial and she leaned over to the couple, “I am very happy for you guys, and I am serious about being at the wedding.”

Amber was so glad that Derek didn’t try to take Ellen up on her offer, she liked her life, and her mother would certainly end it if they got married on Ellen. “Just give us time, and we will be married soon enough I’m not letting this man go anywhere.” She smiled and kissed him on the cheek. She waved to the crowd as they were going to commercial, and hearing Ellen call them the future Mr. and Mrs. Hough made her heart go pitter patter, and she liked it. She gave Ellen a knowing look, “You better be serious, because if I don’t see you there, I am going to come after you.” She laughed, and shook her head, “No I’m kidding, I just really want you there.” She took Derek’s hand, “We want you there….”

“We’ll be sure to send you an invitation.” Derek smiled down at Amber, he still couldn’t believe that she had said yes to marrying him. Giving one last wave to the audience he relaxed as they were finally off the air. “Amber’s right, we really want you there.” Standing he hugged Ellen on last time as he walked Amber toward their green room. Closing the door behind them he pulled her into his arms. “It’s just you and me now Mrs. Hough.” Pulling her close he kissed her passionately, the future was theirs. They had weathered some foundation shaking storms but they made it through and now they were ready to begin their new life together as husband and wife. The world truly was theirs and they would conquer it…together.

Ellen shook her head, “Oh no you don’t, you are not going to put it on her, when all you have to do is say what you rehearsed, but if you are going to make everyone wait, then they are going to have to wait, I guess.” Hearing that Derek didn’t want a long engagement made her smile, “So what…you guys want to do it now on the show?” She laughed, “We can make that happen.” She knew there was no way that was going to happen, but she had to try.

Amber laughed, “I am not going to make him say anything he’s not ready to say right now. And if I can wait, so can all of you.” She pointed to the crowd and Ellen. She gasped when she heard Ellen say that they could get married today on the show “Are you trying to get me killed? My parents would kill me if I got married on your show today.” She looked over at Derek, “I don’t want a long engagement either, but we will discuss the date in private, I think we shared enough.”

“Thank you ladies. I promise that it will be part of my vows.” Grinning Derek almost choked when Ellen asked them if they wanted to get married right then on the show. A part of him wanted to take her up on the offer but he knew Amber would kill him. And if she didn’t his mom and hers would definitely kill him. “That’s nice of you Ellen but I like breathing, both of our moms would kill me if I even let something like that cross my lips.” He shuddered at the thought. In the background he could hear the faint strains of Ellen’s theme song letting him know their time was up.

Ellen could only laugh at the thought of Derek being all nervous, and Amber bailing him out of his misery. “I’m sure most guys do, but since you put in all that practice, we want to hear what you were going to say.” She sighed hearing that he was not going to do it, “Really? You’re going to let all these people down? You want to hear it don’t you Amber?” She smiled, “Well as long as it’s early during the day, you know I don’t like to be up late.” She smirked.

Amber watched the back and forth between Ellen and Derek, she found it amusing actually. She shook her head at Ellen’s question, “I would actually like to hear it, but if my man’s says you have to wait till the wedding, then you just have to wait. I’m a patient woman, so I’ll wait to hear his amazing word on that day.” She laughed at Ellen again, “Our wedding is going to be so great, you won’t want to leave early, but we better see you there on the dance floor with us.”

“I’m sorry guys.” Derek gave the audience his best puppy dog eyes and laughed when they still called out for him to tell them. Reaching for Amber’s hand he sighed, “That’s up to Amber, we haven’t even set a date yet.” Derek gave Amber a pointed look. “You know I don’t want a long engagement.”

“I think it’s a good thing to be nervous, but as long as you got the result you wanted then it’s all good.” Ellen laughed, just thinking about how nervous Derek said he was, “I’m so surprised you were so nervous, you seem so cool and collected all the time.” She shook her head, “Wait, so you practiced? What would you have said if you weren’t so nervous? I mean she already said yes, so there’s no need to be nervous, so tell her and us all what you would have said.”

Amber laughed thinking about that moment, and how nervous Derek really was, “He was nervous, but it was so cute, and there was no way I could turn him down.” She smiled hearing Ellen ask what he would have said, “I would like to know that too.” She giggled, knowing she was going to get a look from Derek.

“Trust me cool and collected abandoned me the minute I started the conversation.” Derek laughed at the memory. “Yep I practiced, I’m sure I’m not the only guy to do that.” He looked over at the audience and pointed as a few of the guys yelled and clapped in agreement. Turning quickly back to Amber and Ellen, Derek glared at them. “Seriously? You’re going to put me on the spot here on national tv?” He shook his head, a grin tugging on his lips. “Nope you’ll just have to hear them at our wedding. That includes you too Ellen, because we’re inviting you.”

Ellen was touched that they thought about her like that, and yes she was a huge supporter of them. She just saw something in them, and hoped that it was real, now she sees that it is very real. “Well I love, love, and I see it all over the two of you. Icould not be happier to hear that you guys are engaged. So I need you to tell me everything, how did he propose? What was your reaction Amber? I need to know everything!”

Amber smiled and agreed with Derek, “He’s so right, you were the one that supported us from the beginning, so announcing our engagement on your show was a no brainier.” She chuckled hearing all of the questions Ellen was asking, “I hope this story don’t disappoint you guys, but it was nothing huge or anything, but it was perfect…”“ She looked adoringly at Derek, "We were just talking about our future, and Derek asked me about kids and if I wanted any. Once he heard that I wanted to have kids with him, he finally gathered up the nerve to just come out and ask me, and of course I said yes!” She giggled.

“I have never been so nervous in my life.” Derek laughed at the memory. “I was rambling and all I could do was try to breathe so I wouldn’t pass out at Amber’s feet.” He laughed along with the audience. “I’m serious I had practiced asking her but I forgot everything. Thank God she took pity on me and figured out what I was asking her.” Kissing Amber’s hand, Derek grinned. “If she had asked me to repeat anything I probably would have just shoved the ring in her hand looked at her like an idiot.”

Ellen listened as the happy couple talked about them finally getting together, and she was so happy for them. She always wanted this for them, and to see it happen was great for her. Her mouth went agape, seeing the ring on Amber’s finger, “Is that what I think it is?” She looked between the two of them, as the audience started cheering like crazy.

Amber smiled brightly and nodded her head, “It is…Derek and I are engaged!” She had to wait until the audience calmed down to continue, “We both realized that we were it for each other, and there was no need to wait any longer. I love this man more than words can say and I can’t wait to become his wife.”

‘A Roughley wedding!’ Derek laughed and waved at the woman that screamed it, “You’re so right a Roughley wedding it is.” He turned to Ellen, “We knew you were a big supporter of Amber and I getting together and we wanted to announce our engagement on your show. In fact, your show was the first show we came on once we became partners on DWTS.” Shrugging Derek smiled, “You were there for the beginning so why not the ending?”

“It’s good to have you both back.” Ellen stated, taking her seat, “You two look happy and in love, is that safe to say?” She looked between the two of them. “For those that don’t remember, I had Derek here a little while ago, and we talked about Amber in great deal, and I told you to come back with her, and here you are, so that has to mean everything worked out, right?”

Amber smiled as she continued holding Derek’s hand, “That would be a safe assessment. Derek and I are very happy, and very much in love.” The smile on her face was as bright as the sun.

Glancing down at Amber’s hand in his Derek smiled, knowing that they couldn’t see her ring. “The last time I was here you wanted me to come back with her once we were together.” He smiled as the audience cheered loudly. “It might have taken us a while but we’re very happy together.” Derek held Amber’s hand up to show her ring. “Very happy…”

“Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests have been here before as dace partners, where they won on Dancing with the Stars, and now they’re here as a couple, which by the way I knew they would be, welcome back to show, Derek Hough and Amber Riley.”

Amber walked out hand and hand with Derek, with a huge smile on her face. She hugged Ellen, before waving to the crowd. She took her seat and grabbed Derek’s hand again, “Hey Ellen, thanks for having us again.”

Walking beside Amber, Derek waved at the audience as he held Amber’s hand tightly. Hugging Ellen he sat beside Amber placing their joined hands on his lap. “Hi Ellen, It’s good to be back.” He waved again at the cheering crowd.

Amber didn’t even think about the food, nor did she care. She just got engaged to the love of her life, the last thing she wanted to think about was food. Luckily for her, Derek was not thinking in the food either, she squealed at him palming her backside, “That’s why I agreed to marry you, we are thinking alike these days. I don’t mind practicing at all, you know what they say, practice makes perfect.” She smirked, grabbing his hand pulling him towards the bedroom, where they spent the rest of the night celebrating their engagement.

Amber couldn’t stop laughing at how silly they must look, but she didn’t care she was so happy that Derek just proposed to her, “You should have known I would have said yes, there is no way I would reject your proposal. I love you more than life itself.” She smiled at the ring he just slipped on her finger, and he took the words out of her mouth, “It is perfect, just like my future husband.” She smiled at the sound of being called Mrs. Hough, “I can definitely get used to hearing that.”

This had to be the best day of Derek’s life. He got his dream job and Amber just agreed to marry him. Glancing up at the table he laughed, “Damn I forgot about dinner.” Shrugging he looked down at Amber before kissing her again. “But then I’m not hungry for food.” Sliding his hand down her waist Derek palmed her ass before slapping it lightly. “I know we’re not ready for kids yet Mrs. Hough but how about we go and practice on how to make them?”
