Home girl is doin’ the damn thing - plus I’m a sucker for big hair. Dig into my interview with Naima Merella - here.
Tracee Ellis Ross is a gawd.
While you're cooped up inside on this dreary effing day you can check out an interview I did with Dessie Jackson awhile back. Photos are by Danielle Parsons.
Interview: Why We're Drawn to Dessie Jackson
Anyone who knows me is well aware that I’ve been having an imaginary love affair with Drake for quite a few years now. Today, I stumbled across a clip from Drizzy’s most recent appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show called “Drake Makes Everything Sound Better”, and all I have to say is that I now have a sudden urge to go out and buy a new ink cartridge. You’ll get it after you peep the clip.
The Yeezus Tour was hands down the most incredible show I have ever seen. Period.
Throwback Thursday: About a year ago I was assigned to interview A-trak and DJ Jazzy Jeff before they judged the finals for the East Coast Red Bull Thre3style competition. I caught him after his 3rd of 4th interview right before the show started but despite the death stare that he's giving in this photo, he was a really nice dude to chat with.

I love this photo of my parents - my mom was my age at the time #tbt
A few weeks back I was invited to stop by a block party which I was told would have various, local music artists that would blow me away. I ventured down near Temple’s campus with the expectations of a normal house party in addition to a minor headache from the Halloween festivities that I had attended the night before.
As I approached the party, I could hear laughter, clapping and chatter, accompanied by the familiar sounds of a heavy bass. I was immediately welcomed by one of the party hosts who was from a local collaborative known as What Scene , made up of Philly cool guys Brandon Potter, Curtis Matthias and Champs.
