Brushing his long locks back, Dave sighed. He’d briefly thought about chopping them off, but he just wouldn’t be himself without them. Maybe it was stupid to keep up with the strong physique he’d had for so long, but it was something to do and it did help him in the long run. And he was pretty quick for someone his size, it wasn’t like he had to worry too much about getting slowed down with his muscled body.
A shuffling outside pulled his attention, dragged him away from his thoughts, though that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Grabbing the random axe he’d picked up on his way out of Montana, Dave slowly moved towards the door, not sure what was on the other side. Even if it was living, he didn’t know if it was friendly or foe. And he was anything but careless. Reaching for the doorknob, he slowly opened it and waited, axe held aloft, ready to strike if it was the undead that came shambling through the door.
