What's going on? The name's David Martinez, Hufflepuff and Wizard extraordinaire. Well, I guess I'm working on the extraordinaire part. I'm a huge Transfiguration nerd, lover of all things video games, comics and Sci Fi. And y'know, basically everything that gets me away from the oh so boring Muggle world.

I’ve seen those ‘pens’ and they’re not nearly as fun to use as quills. And I can’t be expected to carry around ink with me everywhere, I’ve heard horror stories of people being thrown ink at their clothes. Anarchy.

I know I used them at the Library and when I came back to my table, they weren’t there anymore.

But they’re practical. And don’t cost much for a pack of them, so if you lose one or lend one out, this isn’t a problem. But yeah. Never happened to me, but it kinda wants me to charm my ink wells to be unbreakable. At least that way there’s no mess.

Well, it’s totally possible someone took them out of ill will, of course. But you could always ask Madam Glossop if she saw them? Or saw anyone grab them.

I’m still half convinced makeup is it anyways. Like. That’s why there’s also those fancy products for girls to by, right? Because it’s just that wild. And as for the matching. You are the makeup genius, so that’s all on you dude. But they gotta sell some kind of like. Green eye shadow or something, right? Just don’t do anything with too much silver, or people will start thinking you’re leaving us for the Slytherins.

How’re you, by the way David?

Nah, you definitely don’t. You just have to be able to picture it clearly in your head. I mean, a location helps a lot, of course. But as long as you’ve got conviction, it’s there. Maybe ask the paintings and the ghosts if they saw anyone with it? Or see if the house elves found it while they were cleaning?

Can’t complain too much. The break was good to me. But it’s so good to be back.

Is this even a question? Like. Seriously? Sure, deep sea is awesome (and also terrifying, let’s be honest here). But please. Pretty please. Space travel is where it’s at man.

I... Honestly don’t know? I worry about a lot. Like. A whole lot of a lot of stuff. But I don’t know if I’d ever say that it hits the point of like. Paranoid?

Nope. Nope, too many to pick. Top five though are like. Buffalo chicken pizza. Bacon cheeseburgers. But then also like....I could live off of rice? And you gotta throw empanadas on for good measure while you’re at it. And does ice cream count as a food?

But if people would not play Exploding Snap on the train back to Hogwarts today, that would be awesome! On the ride home someone’s explosion nearly made me fall onto the trolley lady’s cart and RUIN ALL YOUR SNACKS. Surely you all can find something else to do for just a few hours, right?

Aww, who doesn’t like Exploding Snap? It’s a great game, even if it’s you know. Loud and occasionally burns you a little bit. But, if it helps. I wasn’t planning on playing, even without the threat to the trolley lady’s cart. That’d be a real shame right there. You didn’t get hurt last time though, did you?

Didn’t muggles torture people past 1800 too? Yeah of course that wasn’t the case but it would totally explain his behaviour in the castle. It’s kind of like payback, the people who lived in this castle once tortured me so now I’m going to annoy everyone for the rest of my life. Well …. not life really. 

Hmm I guess they do. Don’t see why but whatever. Even when I’m home I avoid everyone besides my mom as much as possible, unsurprisingly that doesn’t work that well though because I’m still expected to have diner with everyone but it’s the thought that counts. And going back to Hogwarts is slightly better than being home with my stepdad so there is that. Are you happy that you are going back to Hogwarts?

Well yeah but you know what I mean. A whole lot of stuff that happens in the Muggle world tends to stick around here longer. So it wouldn’t shock me if it were more recent here. And yep. That’d be exactly it. Annoy everyone for as long as ghosts stick around. So...An eternity, probably?

Well at least meals together aren’t super long to have to talk to people you don’t like. And yeah, of course. The workload’s gunna be intense, no doubt. But I always miss the castle. And it’ll be really nice, getting to use magic again. That always makes breaks hard.

I’m beyond excited to go back to the castle today. I love my parents but I’ve missed my roommates, I’ve missed hanging out at the Niffler Pen, I’ve missed sneaking off to the Forbidden Forest, and I’ve missed Hagrid! Plus I’ve got a giant bag of chocolate frogs for the train ride! How is everyone else feeling about getting back to the castle?

Sneaking off to the Forbidden Forest, huh? What do you get up to in there? Just exploring a lot? And personally I’m thrilled. It’s good to be home, and I’ve definitely got as much easily storable food from my mom as possible on me. But I’ve missed the common room, too. And the castle in general. It’s always weird coming home.

If Kelsey wants any spiders we come across to stay alive, she’s got to get them out of my sight like, immediately before I do something like hex them out the window. I’m definitely not the kind of person who can handle bugs being in my space. Aren’t big dogs a lot of work, though? I can’t like, throw things for them to play with or handle being licked or sat on a lot, I don’t want to be a bad dog mum if I ever made that commitment. Fun’s a good word for them, although I really love the political intrigue in the prequel trilogy that no one else seems to like.

Completely, completely understandable. I get that they do good work like. Ecologically wise? But they also need to just...Not do that in my space, at least. And yeah, of course, but they’re super cute and adorable too. And I bet they sell magic toys that you can just have them chase around for hours on end, too. Not as much fun, but if like a big dog ever comes into your life, you’ll be good to go all around. But that’s good! There’s a lot of good stuff in them, if you can ignore the less awesome. But so many people just get...offset by the fact it’s not the original trilogy, I think. It’s such a shame.

It seems very high stakes danger to me. I mean, even in a society where you can regrow bones. What if the bone you break on the way down is your head? Please don’t die, that would be terrible. Who would protect the house elves with me? That’s nice that your mum is looking out for you though, but honestly Muggle parents would probably be bothered by a ton of the stuff that goes on here. My dad isn’t even crazy over it and he’s technically magical.

I’m pretty sure I would just owl my laundry home. There’s no way I’d be able to do it without ruining all my clothes or lighting something on fire. Probably the machine when I got mad at it. Although I did see this episode of telly once where the Muggle couple broke their washer and had a soap suds fight which looked really fun.

Oh God, exactly like. Most muggle sports are just straight concussions and stuff? Not like. ‘Let’s fall from a few hundred feet in the air and see what happens!’. How much can magic really do for you then? And well. Yeah. There might be a tiny bit of lying going on when it comes to like. How we learn some spells, and practicing on each other and the like. They don’t need to know any of that. Technically magical, though? Is he muggleborn or...?

Laundry’s really not that bad, it’s just a pain and there’s so much clothes sorting and just. Nope. Not my thing. Though that does sound fun. Bubble fight without the work could be an interesting one.

It’s obviously too late to go shopping but what are your plans for the weekend? I got an influx of comics/graphic novels for Christmas and I don’t even know where the hell to begin. 

Ouch. Okay yeah, definitely not envying whoever got stuck cleaning the carpet there.

Well would you look at that? I happen to have a weekend full of nothing of homework and general nerdiness. So as far as I’m concerned, I’m all yours. What’d you get, though? I know it can get pretty....interesting when adults don’t have a clue with where to begin.

I think it was called Gossip Girl or something along those lines. I mainly watched it because one of the main characters was hot but then I just enjoyed the plot. Though, it made me wish Hogwarts was more interesting. I should have gone with the latter but my brother would be completely useless since he’d wake me five minutes into my nap. But I’ll see where my nap adventures take me with this new found knowledge.

Excellent choice. And oldie, but a good one. Definitely been a long time since I’ve seen any of it. And good luck with the nap. Hopefully you get to enjoy it without you know. Wasting the day away too much.

I feel that even if you do have my self-inking quills, you’ll say you found them by ‘dumb luck’. 

Why would I want self-inking quills? That ruins the fun of using quills to right with, doesn’t it? Besides. I’ve got pens. Much more convenient for when I don’t wanna bother.

But for what it’s worth. Good luck finding them. Any chance you just left them somewhere and forgot about it?

Our teachers are wonderfully smart. They could probably figure it out, or a prefect would tell them. Oh! Yum, that sounds wonderful. Bring me some back on the train please, and I’ll bring brownies and we’ll be even and no one will go hungry. Oh good. Okay. And I recruited Ana to join us, I hope you don’t mind. 

Exactly what I’m afraid of. Cause the last thing I need, really, is to make mom mad. And I would’ve loved to! But unfortunately, they don’t last past Christmas for the most part. They probably still tortured people back in the days. I think it was probably accepted untill like? the 1800′s or something. It was probably an accepted way to teach people. I know that’s not how Poltergeists came to be but I will totally accept the idea that Peeves is a murdered Hogwarts Student who will forever haunt the castle because he’s just mad. 

Who needs plans? I’ll just go out and then see what there is to do when I’m there. And Yeah I’m glad to be out of the house for a couple of days. I would have probably ended up grounded by my stepdad or something for staying up 4 minutes to late or something stupid like that. He’s crazy. 

Wouldn’t even shock me. Especially because the wizarding world is occasionally pretty....Behind? So wouldn’t be all that surprising. And you know what? Totally not the case, but I’m good with pretending it is. Makes it more interesting to think of how much he tortures the professors at least.

Well you know. Some people do like them, but that makes sense. Being out of the house alone sounds pretty cool. And avoiding the whole being home bit. Must’ve bee a relief to get on that train and not have to worry about it.

Nibling? Is that like an actual word? I love it, way easier than saying ‘niece or nephew’ every time. How long does it take for babies to learn how to crawl? That’s not for a while, right? You’re right, though, taking care of like a nibling is waaaaay easier than if the kid is your own. I guess that’s why humans started family units instead of like staying by themselves to raise babies like some animals; it’s nice to have someone else to pass it off to.

In my book it is, and if it isn’t then it should be because it’s convenient and also sounds fun. And yeah, you’ve got like...six months, minimum probably. Probably more depending on the kid I guess. But exactly that. They can pass the kid off to you, and then when it starts crying it gets real easy to pass it off. Besides, think about it this way. If you get used to it now, then if you ever have kids of your own, you’ll know what you’re doing.
