Been thinking of a new attempt at an AU for my Squibs. Here’s a Vlad concept.

While at PAX Unplugged, Saki and I went to this Paint N’ Take thing where we got to paint already assembled and primed miniatures. This is the one I did. Sadly we only got Black, Grey, Silver, Gold, tannish Brown and Blue. And this oil stuff for added detail. But I’m pretty happy with out my first painted mini turned out. I feel confident enough to work on my own minis now!

Finally drew a thing. Choosing a Warcraft character with intricate armor was a terrible idea and I kinda gave halfway through. But I’m just happy to have drawn something.

Guess who made even MORE squids because they have a problem?

Ok so I actually have a story about how I came up with these. I’ve been reading some Warhammer 40k novels again, and in the opening trilogy to the Horus Heresy, there’s this like unofficial advisory council to the Luna Wolves primarch called the Mournival. Named after a hand of cards that contains an Ace, King, Queen, and Jack/Knave. Each member also was supposed to represent one of the Four Temperaments (a now debunked proto-psychological theory). And so I based the team off of that. More info on these kids later. They’re also named based on the elements that supposedly go with these temperaments in other languages.

I snuck in one more little 40k reference. Tyne wears the Full Moon glasses. In the novels, Abbadon (the Choleric one) had a full moon on his helm. Done for my own amusement more than anything else.

I think this team will actually be a dark blue, not the pink in these shots.Though the pink does look good on them.

Post-it doodle from today. I rummaged up a mouth reference post I had reblogged a while back, tried to copy the mouth, then drew everything else. Turned out WAY better than I was expecting.

Tempest has the wrong hair but eh. I kinda forgot how it worked so she gets normal hair.
