i’m gonna be real with you. I feel like lolcows aren’t as interesting as they once were. Most of the time you’re either Chris-Chan or some criminal to ever be noteworthy. Like most artcows nowadays don’t even have much potential. Like for example, one on a certain fruit farming website, the “SJW art” thread, while I do think those art circles have their own set of problems (such as racism towards Asians), I don’t think these artists have that much juicy details to have them qualify as full-fledged lolcows. Even if there was a “second coming” of Dobson (wether it be Dobson himself or someone who has Dobson energy) it still wouldn’t make a big of an impact.

I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here. I wanna know what you think.

Honestly, I don’t even think there’s many lolcows in general that are as interesting to follow these days. Before people were mainly considered “lolcows” for being bizarre but mostly harmless weirdos online that you could see them say or do a thing and be entertained. Nowadays, not only has the term “lolcow” kinda just become “person online I don’t like”, a lot of lol owe are considered such because of just how extreme/degenerate/offensive/ect they are. Even Chris-chan eventually became something like that.

But I do think you’re right. The internet has been around too long for a person like Dobson to be seen as a lolcow these days. If someone similar popped up, they’d probably just be seen as an average social media addict or something.

I watched Dylan the Night Owl's new video. It's good, but he did get some things wrong. He called Alex and Atea lesbians when only one of them is, and said they were "making out all the time" and Sam was just in the way basically. That's not true of course. He also made it seem like Dobson being Twitter banned was a main reason why he left internet, when that's clearly not the case, because he was still online for a few years. I was also really hoping he'd get into the feud he had with you and his attempt at getting his followers to come after you, because THAT really seemed like the straw that broke the camel's back; when people saw even more how full of shit he was, and how alone he really is. Dylan unfortunately mentioned none of that, and instead, delved into the rumor about him costing his brother a job. I am glad he did clarify that was rumor though. Anyway it was a good video.

To be fair, I’m pretty sure every popular video on Dobson has gotten a few things wrong about him in some form or fashion. It’s good to point out the mistakes though.

So here is the proof, I made a blog using a fake email to share it, basically they did copy and attempt to learn Dobsons style but were worried people would noticed the lines were too jaged and just, blurred it

That's all really folks, there was no real AI used except in Testing to see if they could make the lines smooth Again this was supposed to be a fun community joke but being doxxed scared everyone,

Sorry everyone who was expecting a lot of fun, if you want maybe I can convince them to bring back the account with a parody Dob but they'll probably get doxxed or sued.

I don’t think the concept of a “parody Dobson account” is in itself flawed, but it may have been better to make it obvious it was a parody to begin with.

As for the worry of being doxxed or sued, just be absolutely sure that anyone who accuses or uses the account isn’t posting anything or doing anything that can give weirdos a way to get their info.

Might have better luck on X rather than BlueSky, since they can just make it obvious it’s parody to start with.

I think the fake Dobson is gone from Bluesky already. It's not pulling up. Apparently just like the real Dobson, whoever it was ragequit.

I’ve gotten multiple confirmations that Bluesky Dobson did indeed wipe the account. I guess they assumed they could get away with faking it longer, but since everyone almost immediately caught on that it was a fake, especially with the comic, they just gave up.

Which kind of makes them more pathetic, honestly. Like a good troll would have just kept going with it or even played along with the fact that they were found out and just go on as a parody of Dobson. Instead, them deleting the account comes across as them thinking they were being really clever about pretending to be Dobson.

Oh well. At the very least, it sparked a bit of conversation and interest that hasn’t really been there since Dobson quit. I’m honestly surprised no one has thought to do a dedicated Dobson parody account until now. At least in terms of the timeframe since he quit.

as much as i dont like dobson, i can find some of his struggles relatable, and it hurts. especially in his piece "all of my friends are imaginary" really resonated with me, having gone thru similar experiences and whatnot. and yet, i cant find sympathy because he's just so damn... miserable.

I think people can find it relatable when taken as a single image, outside of the full context. But once you know the full context of the person that drew it, it can be really hard to feel any sympathy for the guy.

But the phrase separate the art from the artist” does exist for a reason.

I know we can only theorize at this point, but given Dobson's personality i find it legitimitely shocking that he has been able to keep quiet on the internet all these years, and without posting art at all. it's just so unlike him! i actually considered the possibility that he might have died because this silence makes no sense to me; but like you said in another post, the internet would've found that info already if that were the case... so the only thing that makes sense to me is that he actually has a steady job somewhere as an artist, and that's why he doesn't find the need to post online anymore. basically what i'm asking is, what do you think has managed to keep dobson away from the spotlight all these years?

I could actually see him not posting art pretty easily, tbh. He’d actively grown to hate doing art or even trying to improve for a very long time. Hell, the only thing that actually got him drawing again after over a year and a half was Trump’s first election when, and that was entirely motivated by spite.

I believe Dobson is actively still online and posting on social media, just under some kind of alt. And the thing is, if you take away Dobson’s art, all his political ranting and hating on anything he doesn’t agree with really just kinda blends in with a lot of other people’s social media post.

What’s impressive to me is that he’s managed to keep his ego in check enough to remain anonymous online.

It would be really nice if your scenario is what actually happened though.

The CTC(Change The Channel) Document was essentially a list of grievances former members of That Guy With The Glasses/Channel Awesome had against Doug Walker, making him out to be a malicious bad boss who was doing all sorts of terrible things. At the time, it was mostly accepted as 100% accurate, but as the years have gone by, a lot of the accusations made against him have been shown to be massively exaggerated, outright lies, and in one very particular case, the guilty party of one accusation was actually one of the main people who made the document in the first place.

Not saying people have to like or enjoy Doug Walker, of course. Just that a lot of the bad things he was accused of being aren’t actually true.
