My finished piece for the @dazzlingzine! I drew pre-moon Cairn and got immensely carried away with it. 

The bottom 3 images are the shading before I did the iridescence and two variants of the first iridescent layer before I decided to change the whole palette :’D

My drawing for @dazzlingzine​​. (Spiffed up a bit for my own sanity)

While researching the character Benito, I found out that San Benito county, California is the only place in the world that Benitoite is found in the real world which contributes to the gem’s rarity. I decided to pull inspiration from this origin and place the character in a California inspired setting while also giving them a nice floral inspired dress because Benito deserves to have nice things.

I chose to draw original Phos in a soft military outfit, because although they are weak, they’re eager to fight alongside other gems.
