Deniss Vasiljevs of Latvia performs his LP, The Nutcracker, at the 2014 World Junior Championships. Deniss was ranked 8th at Worlds, but he was definitely one of my favorites and he is my “one to watch” at the Courchevel JGP. I don’t normally pay a lot of attention to junior skaters, to be honest, but this kid is off the chain, and too adorable. He has a huge repertoire of moves and spins…and he’s currently training backflips. He’s an amazing showman too. And he just turned 15 a couple weeks ago!

Deniss is keeping his Jazz Machine SP for one more season, but his FS this season is Adagio for Tron by Daft Punk, choreographed by Benoit Richaud. Can't wait to see his debut at JGP Courchevel!

Deniss is assigned to JGP Courchevel in August 20 - 24. Good luck to him!

Deniss is currently learning to do backflip off the ice, but he plans to do on the ice soonish! No limit man!

Deniss has done his new free program with the young and talented choreographer Benoît Richaud. His coach Ingrida Snieskiene described new program as "a piece of art". Also Jacques Dechoux has joined Denis's team as a physical coach.
