Ludwig looked up to see his brother enter the office. Normally he would sternly tell  a visitor to go back outside and knock before entering, but, this visitor being his older brother, Ludwig let it slide.

“Standing up, he went over to greet him.

“Bruder,” he said. “This is an unexpected surprise. Hallo.”

He opened the door of his office with a wide smile on his lips. It’s been a while since he saw his little brother… of even since he stepped outisde his house. But, the break he took was over. 

Gilbert was a better person; he has -partially- overcome his fears and insecurities. 

“West!” he answered, “Ah— I know, I should have called you beforehead! ” he chuckled, “I’m not disturbing you, am I? Are you busy as always or do you have a little time for you incredibly hot Bruder?” he asked, jokingly.

Ludwig smiled. It was good to see his brother well—given the other had been suffering mentally for some time. It was safe to say Gilbert was well on the way to vanquishing his inner demons.

He shook his head.

“Nein, nein, I am not busy. Not yet, anyway,” he added. His smile turned wry.

“Ah—I have a little time. And while I have time, could my incredibly hot Bruder do me a favour and tell all the female members of staff here that I am taken? Maybe they might swap me for you,” he joked. Ludwig had been getting better at cracking jokes in conversation, although he had a way to go before even scraping the surface of proficient wit exhibited by his fellow nations. Well, at least he tried—one had to give him credit for that, at least.

Gilbert chuckled, shaking his head. Ah, his little brother that slowly starts to make jokes. Things are really shanging, are they? 

"Oh, little West has some problems with ladies? Poor Bruder, I bet they won't let you take a break!" he chuckles, moving towards him, placing his hand on the desk, the other on his waist. "But don't worry, I'll tell 'em."

He stared at him for a couple of seconds, his lips softly curved into a smile. Being with him always made him feel sort of complete, safe; happy.
