This wasn’t exactly how the woman thought her day would go but if it was, so be it, she walked over giving the little boy a pacifier and then walked out of the room packing a few things for the few days she’d be at her moms for both her and her son. She then carried the bag setting it in the hall as she walked back into the bedroom, no words were said she simply just grabbed a few other items she could put in the duffle bag and walked back out going down to the kitchen where she grabbed a glass of water and jumped up on the counter.

Daniel didn’t acknowledge her movements and carried their son who was fully wake into his arms and went down to where there was a chill out area, overlooking their garden and pool outside, sitting down carefully on the couch, slumping down as he placed the baby on his chest, rubbing their son’s back carefully. He tried to distract himself by attending to Silas. Humming a song softly into his ears, Daniel then placed a kiss on their son’s head, watching on the view of their garden.

“Well I hope so otherwise, my efforts to try to make friends with him would be a waste,” she said biting her lip slightly “So we have some time still to do something as a family,” she said as she watched him get up “That’s a little assumptive don’t you think?” she said a little irritated “I’ve been trying to think of something to do all day, something special but if you want to think that way you can leave early then and I will just go to my moms with the dog and baby” she said getting up off the bed.

Daniel was pissed and he didn’t reply anything back because this was probably just a petty argument which he didn’t want to escalate by letting his emotions get over him. Finishing up his packing, he zipped up the bag and locked it, leaving it to one side as their son began to cry probably because their voices became raised a little. Walking back inside with a serious expression on his face, he began to try and calm their son down by tapping the side of his thighs, cooing the little boy.

“She told me it was at some French place that she had to name drop for us just to get in, it’s very exclusive,” Dakota said as she placed her phone back on the nightstand and sighed. “What time is your flight tomorrow?” she asked as she rubbed her hand over her forehead and looked at the man crossing her arms underneath her chest and her ankles over one another as she laid her head to the side “Anything you wanna do before you leave?”

“Sounds like both of you will have a great time together.” Daniel said as if he was forced to, biting the bottom of his lip in an agitated manner. “9 a.m...” He simply replied before he studied her movements and shook his head with a quirk to his brows, “I’ll be leaving early so no need, and it seems like you were just forced to ask that...” He continued before he rubbed the side of his neck and clenched his jaws before walking back to their closet and began to pack again.

Dakota looked at the man “Chris,” she said “He agreed to meet for lunch to talk about auditions, talk about scenes, things like that” she said as she looked at the dress and furrowed her brows a little bit “It’s not that revealing I don’t think” she said as she looked at the dress and then picked up her phone again. “It’s the dress my agent told me to wear” she said scrolling through her emails.

“In an outfit like that? For lunch?” Daniel let out a scoff before rubbing the bottom part of his lip as he thought of why an agent would want her to dress up like that to meet a co-actor for lunch and talk about a project. “Why would she want you to wear a dress in the first place? How fancy is this lunch?” He continued to ask in a serious tone, kind of getting annoyed how she was preoccupied with everything else than him that day, frowning as she scrolled through her phone.

Dakota noticed the man leave and sighed slightly as she noticed her phone ringing, she picked it up and began talking to the person on the other line which happened to be her agent. She got up turning off the television and got up walking up the stairs and into her closet searching for a certain dress. “I’ll be there tomorrow afternoon, tell him thank you,” she said hanging up the phone as she grabbed a pair of shoes matching them to the dress walking back out she laid on the bed and smiled.

As he was reading, he saw his girlfriend go inside the closet and searched in her side of clothes, furrowing his brows as she talked through the phone. Frowning as she ended the call and went back into the bedroom with a dress and a pair of shoes, Daniel followed behind wondering why she was getting those ready. “Tell who thank you?” He sternly asked, moving his eyes away from the things she set out onto the bed and to Dakota. “Dakota, that’s a revealing dress...” He seriously said, gesturing at what she got out with a frown on his face.

“Hey,” she said softly as she took another sip from her coffee and smiled “It was good, felt good” she said as she leaned her cheek against her hand and looked at the man with a smile. “I bet it looks wonderful, I can’t wait to see it when I head back upstairs” she said softly as she smiled and then looked back at the television enjoying the film dancing across the screen. 

Seeing that her girlfriend was busy with watching, he nodded his head and scratched the back of his head, “I’ll head up. I’ll pack for tomorrow.” Getting up, Daniel made his way to their storage room to get his luggage and then went with it to their closet to start packing for his business trip to London the next day. He made sure to pack winter clothes since it would be freezing there right now and then some business attire and some casual and sleep wear. He placed some files inside too before packing some toiletries. Sitting down on the couch in the closet as he thought more of what he needed, Daniel checked his phone at the notification to look through the itinerary sent to him by his assistant.

Dakota got the text from her boyfriend so she stopped and got lunch smiling as she finally got home and set her coffee down on the table as she took out the newborn baby and walked him upstairs and into their room laying him in the bassinet and smiled kissing his forehead as she covered the blanket over him and walked to the closet changing into a pair of shorts and a tank top as she walked down to the living room and sat down on the sofa as she curled up in a blanket and began to scroll through the television program guide finally selecting one of the Harry Potter movies sipping her iced coffee as she enjoyed the movie.

After showering, he brushed his teeth and then changed into some joggers and an olive green tank top and then went out of their room and saw their son sleeping in the bassinet, rubbing the baby boy’s stomach softly before making his way down to find Dakota. “Hey.” Daniel softly said, taking the spot beside her and then leaning his head on her shoulder. “How was your jog?” He asked, taking a sip of her iced coffee too, turning his head to look at his girlfriend. “The room’s done.” The male added on before he stretched his back a little since it hurt from carrying the heavy things and doing the shelves earlier.

“It’s a tad early for me but you enjoy” she said with a smile as she walked over and kissed her boyfriend’s cheek “You’re welcome to join us if you’d like” she spoke as she put her hair up in a messy bun and grabbed the dogs leash and lifted up the baby’s stroller setting it back down on the sidewalk as she began jogging slowly down the sidewalk picking up the pace slowly but surely.

Daniel rolled his eyes with the kiss to his cheek, clearly not satisfied before he continued watching the show and eating ice cream. “I can’t come anyway, I gotta fix that little boy’s room.” He said standing up and walking with them to the gate, placing a soft kiss on top of their son’s head before waving them goodbye. Tossing the tub of ice cream in the bin outside, Daniel went back in their house and got a slice of bread to eat for breakfast before getting his own water bottle and then going back to the crib he was fixing and continued to follow the manual. It wasn’t long until he was done, before he removed the cover on the floor because of the paint and then used his strength to get the crib into the room, moving it a few times to see where it fit the best. Since no one was at home, he played loud music as he began to do the shelves. Daniel texted Dakota to not go home yet since the drilling and the work happening there might be too rowdy for their newborn, and said to go home after lunch. Sending the message, he then continued to finish the shelves and then placed a wall paper of abstract shades of gray beside where the crib was. Getting the huge mat from their stock of baby things from the guest room, and placed it down at the center, he then began moving the drawers, a small couch, where the baby gets changed, and some toys in the room. Running his fingers through his damp hair from the sweat, Daniel then got the baby humidifier to make the scent fresh and good. Looking around, he then got his camera from his room and plugged it in the computer to print out large baby photos from when he was born and then framed it and placed it in the room to finish it up. He looked around the room of what he has done and smiled in accomplishment before going out and closing the door before he stripped down and went into their shower cubicle to clean himself up.

Dakota rubbed her face with the washcloth “I’m good, thank you” she said as she smiled as she got out of the shower and began her morning routine, brushing her teeth and straightening her hair, her makeup being put on and walked out of the bathroom and into the closet where she put on a workout outfit pulling her hair up grabbing the baby from his bassinet. “You wanna go for a run with mommy?” she asked the little boy kissing his forehead as she walked down to the kitchen grabbing a bottle of water and over to the stroller strapping the baby into the stroller and smiled “You wanna go to, buddy?” she asked the dog strapping his leash on his collar.

“Okay, your loss.” Daniel said as he took another spoonful of ice cream in his mouth, following her movements with his eyes before he made his way down to the living room and opened the television, comfortably slumping down on the couch. “Maybe the boyfriend wants to go too.” He said in a sarcastic tone before eating another spoonful of ice cream as he watched the show, not taking the chance to glance at his girlfriend. “No good morning, or even a morning kiss or a hug. Tsk...” He muttered in an exaggerated upset manner as he slowly shook his head before eating again and then letting out a heavy sigh.

Dakota had eventually fallen back to asleep and woken up the next morning finally feeling like she was refreshed. She smiled getting out of bed and checking on their son and couldn’t help but admire the sleeping baby before she walked over to the closet grabbing a change of clothes before walking into the bathroom and turning the shower on making it a little warmer than normal and dropped a few essential oils on the bottom of the tub and smiled as the aromas filled her senses.

Daniel woke up a little after Dakota since he didn’t feel her warmth beside him anymore, but decided to stay in bed for a while since he felt a little lazy to get up. Looking over at the bassinet, he smiled a little, still wrapping his head around the fact that they now have a son before taking a hold of his phone and replying to some messages. After a few minutes, he began to crave some ice cream so he checked on their baby before going down to the kitchen to get a small tub of vanilla ice cream before he went back up. Noticing that his girlfriend was taking longer than usual for a morning shower, he then went inside the bathroom, closing the door behind him as he took a spoonful of ice cream. “What a sight to see in such a chilly morning.” Daniel softly said as ruffled his hair and approached the tub, sitting on the edge, “You want some?” He asked, holding out a spoon of ice cream towards her.

Dakota looked over at Daniel as he got up “Babe, you can go back to sleep” she whispered as she looked at the baby and lifted him up over her shoulder patting his back waiting for the little boy to burp and giggled once he did, watching as Silas held onto her shirt and fell asleep again smiling as she walked over and laid the little boy back down in the bassinet tucking him in and then walking back over to the bed laying back down under the blanket her hands rubbing on her legs as she tried to relax herself back into a relaxed state.

“I’m awake when you’re awake, we’re doing this together.” Daniel silently replied before yawning once again, waiting for the whole process to end. When Dakota put the baby into the bassinet, he then also made his way to the bed and went under the sheets, laying down. He laid his hand on her stomach which he has gotten used to when she was still pregnant and rubbed his hands tenderly over it to help her feel comfortable. “Go back to sleep, baby, you need it.” He softly said as he pressed his lips on her shoulder and then pulled away a little and stayed in the position as went back to sleep.

Dakota felt a few hours pass before she heard the little whimpers of their son before a full-on screaming cry was about to happen, she got up and rubbed her eyes walking over picking up the small boy bouncing him a little bit as she sat down in the rocking chair by the window as she fed the little boy watching him running her finger over his foot as the little boy looked up at her as he ate, Dakota rocked softly as she looked out the window and after about half an hour she switched sides as the little boy continued to eat she couldn’t help but rub over his foot with her fingers.

Daniel was woken up by the sound coming from their son and he dug his face into the pillow for a second  before sitting up on the bed and watching Dakota take charge with feeding the baby. Yawning, he waited until he felt full awakeness before getting up from the bed and going to sit on the window sill near where the rocking chair was, stretching his legs out on the full length of the window sill as he rested his back and watched on. He couldn’t do anything in terms of feeding but he wanted Dakota to feel that he was supporting here and to stay awake with her at night when she needs to, he would. “Here is starts the no sleeping cause baby duty.” Daniel jokingly said, reaching out and moving a strand of hair from his girlfriend’s face.

Dakota rolled her eyes not being able to help herself “No, don’t be like that, I’m not even like that” she said as she set her laptop down and closed it, she tucked herself into the blanket. “Enjoy your book, my love,” she said as she smiled as turned her side table lamp off and rested her head down on the pillow, her body squirming a little bit before she got comfortable and crossed her ankles one over the other as she focused on trying to get a little bit of rest.

“Goodnight, baby.” Daniel said softly and he didn’t want to veer his eyes away from the book since it was really compelling as his girlfriend tucked herself in ready to sleep. He already slept for a while when he was ill earlier so he still wasn’t feeling the sleepiness. As one hour passed that was when he felt the sleepiness kick in as he yawned and knew it was the sign for him to rest especially because he was planning to finish their son’s room the next day. Setting the book down on their bedside table, he then slipped himself under the duvet before pulling his girlfriend in as their faces were just about to touch since he was seeing for her close presence. Pecking her lips once, he then studied her features before closing his eyes and sleeping.

Dakota smiled as she felt the kiss placed upon her knuckles and glanced more at her screen before looking at him “Must be a good book” she said with a chuckle before she resumed reading her own script and tapped her other hand against her side her fingers tracing shapes into her own skin as she got lost in the story and bit the corner of her lip a little bit as she continued to read through one of the steamier section of the script and couldn’t but laugh at herself and at her reaction, she shook her head and continued to read.

Dakota’s voice shook him out of the deepness he was feeling with every word written on the paper, and smiled as he glanced towards her briefly, “It’s a McEwan... more than just a good book.” He commented before going back to where he left off, his whole being just getting into the world which was created by the novel. Furrowing his brows when she laughed, he felt curious and looked at the screen and scanning his eyes through the script before going back to reading his book. “What? Are you imagining Chris Evans?” He then said in a serious tone, flipping a page, and he’s a jealous kind of course but he understood that it’s part of the movie but still.

Dakota walked over and kissed the little boy on the forehead after he was placed in the bassinet and smiled sitting back down on the desk taking the vitamins and drinking what was left for her. She crossed her legs under the desk and continued to read over a few things sent by her agent, she then took her laptop and walked over to the bed resting against the headboard she began to read through her script again, the female untied her warm shedding it to the floor as she began to feel a little warm and continued to read where she left off.

Daniel continued on reading the book, crossing his ankles over each other, taking a deep breath as flipped the page to the next chapter, feeling his woman take her placed beside him. After a while, he reached out to grab her hand and placed a kiss on her knuckles as he briefly glanced at her screen before he went back to reading, a serious expression showing on his face as he began to get into the story.

Dakota nodded her head as she finished up and washed her hands and put on her clothes and robe walking out from the bathroom laughing. “”Now don’t keep going on with those empty promises sir,” she said as she walked into the closet and slid on her slippers and sat at the desk in their room opening up her laptop as she began to scroll through a few emails and replied to some before she just browsed a little bit and replied to a few messages she missed glancing over to the baby every once a while and smiling.

Following Dakota with his eyes, a smirk graced his face as she sat down and then Daniel placed his attention on their son as he played with him. After a few minutes, he decided to try and make the little boy go to sleep since that was healthy especially for a very small baby. Tapping the thigh of Silas, he cooed him to sleep and then carried him to his bassinet, tucking him in well. Going to their medicine cabinet, Daniel got some vitamins he bought for her to take after birth as well as going down to the kitchen to get a glass of milk. Going over to Dakota, he placed a tablet of vitamins on a small plate and placed a small note on it which says ‘eat me’ and put it down the desk with the glass of milk and a note on it saying ‘drink me’, sliding it close to her to get her attention. Pouting towards the vitamin and the milk to tell her to do what it says, he then sat down on the bed with his back against the head board and opened up the book from his bedside table and began to read the chapter he left off.

Dakota dabbed the serum on her face next and watched his movements “Well the wife who stays home, takes care of the kids, has a baby and tries to negotiate with the people who want to murder her husband but she ends up getting taken hostage in her own home and really that’s all I’ve read up to” she said and watched as he attended to their son which made her heart happy and a bright smile appeared on her face. “I have to keep my skin looking nice for roles and just because it makes me feel that much prettier” she said lastly applying her lotion smiling.

“That’s brutal!” Daniel expressed before he placed a kiss on his son’s forehead. As she continued explaining, watching her intently with so many things she was wiping on her face, he then rolled his eyes playfully before going back inside their room and placing the baby down on their bed, propping a his baby pillow to support his head before he sat down beside their son, shaking a rattle over him which Silas reached out to get. Grabbing his boxers which was hanging from a seat, he then slipped it on before going back to their son, stroking his little head. “Dakota, are you finally done? Come on, before I drag you out of there and pin you against the bed.” He called out and jokingly covered their baby’s ears who was busy with the rattle.
