So I’ve always been a proshipper, but I didn’t gain access to the internet until I was 18. Suddenly I’m being told “omg you can’t ship that!” And “if you were to post about that ship you’re gonna be harassed!” Chat… it’s fictional characters 😭 it’s not like I support this shit irl. I just like messing around with FICTIONAL dynamics… and now I’m in a fandom that will shoot you for shipping most everything if you’re not careful. What’s worse is I’m a proshipper in this fandom and I’m scared to even exist here even if I love the series.

Well, obviously my first thought it that your ship doesn't make you a bad person. Being loud and proud about your ships while maintaining internet safety levels of anonymity could help you find friends in the fandom who feel the same but do not feel safe/comfortable talking about their ships due to a hostile fandom environment (one that you'd be helping change by being publicly proship.)

However, if you do decide to do this, it's worth noting that you will almost definitely get hate anons if you have anonymous asks on, and may get hate comments in general.

I once got a whole harrassment campaign on my& edit blog just for making a breaking bad themed self care kit and because my& blog happened to be proship and pro-endo safe. Unfortunately, things like that can happen.

But... All it did was show me how little of a life these people had. I pitied them. And they gave my blog a nice engagement boost and are deactivated now while im still here running this blog and doing edits with my system on our edit blog ❤️❤️❤️😈

So my advice, ultimately, is to outlast the haters. If you feel confident enough to be open about being a proshipper, that's awesome! If not, that's okay too. Just be safe, and don't let them change who you are ❤️
