sample IV: love poem
and so sow the seeds of our discontented summer, a malady to the heart; a sickness in the weather. separation diseased, fallen ill, bereaved, bereft by time, distance, and heat, and our hearts sink on in quiet despair through the summertime sleep. but, oh, my love, my darling patterned skies, my heart and stars and winds and moon, in the fall, i shall belong to you and we will rejoice under crimson weaves, sunset skies, and golden trees. and through the cold November rain, i shall keep you warm, swathed inside our winter dreams. your head upon my chest, my chin upon your hair, the smell of woodsmoke and cinnamon hovering about the air. and we shall sit in harmony, like firelight kept aglow in the alcove of a chimney. and when spring finally returns, i shall stay with you this time, until the ends of days and the beginnings of life.
