My first post.
I remember my mom telling me about this “like 16 year old who sings about Tim McGraw.” She heard her on WCOL and swore that I would like her if I just listened. Found out she would be signing at a local Meijer and my dad took me, bought me her album, and waited in line with me for 2 hours as we weaved in and out of aisles to meet this ‘like 16 year old who sings about Tim McGraw’. Upon approaching this almost six foot goddess, everything went blank. She hugged me and signed my cd and looked gorgeous doing so. She took a picture with me and thanked me for being there to see her. I learned that not only was she an artist but a true normal human being. I was 12.
After the release of Speak Now, I bought a guitar. Last Kiss was the very first song I learned and taught myself from a YouTube tutorial. (There’s a video somewhere of my friend singing while I play somewhere in the web sphere.) Then Ours. Then Speak Now. With a little Mine and Hey Stephen from Fearless… Boy I miss playing guitar. I was 16.
I went to my very first TSwift concert on September 18, 2015. Night 2 in Columbus, Ohio of the 1989 World Tour. To say what an incredible night it was would be the biggest understatement. I have never screamed so loud or danced so much. My face hurt from smiling the whole time. Even today, I am still speechless of what I experienced that night. It’s a night I think about all the time. I was 21.
My birthday is October 24 and I always get so excited around my birthday because that’s when Taylor has released her albums.
Taylor Swift: October 24, 2006
Fearless: November 11, 2008
Speak Now: October 25, 2010
Red: October 22, 2012
1989: October 27, 2014
Reputation: November 10, 2017
I mean Happy Birthday to me, you know? I mean can you imagine on October 24, 2016….. I turned 22. ……Need I say more?
Flash forward to today. We are less than a month away from the release of Reputation which Swifties are claiming it’s better than, everything in existence.
I follow multiple fan accounts on Instagram and have for a while now. Credit to swift.itoff because I’ve followed her the longest and she is admired by every single one of her 140k+ followers. TaylorNation, taylorupdates, swiftienation, classic.tay, instaswiftie_1989…. just to name a few. While there’s so many fan account dedicated to Taylor 24/7/355, never forgot those like toribelleh, 😏, who have been there since the beginning. Sure I had to look up the album release dates and I don’t know every single detail of Taylor’s life. But I know that’s okay. Her love for all of her fans is so overwhelming beautiful and I feel so special to be apart of that group.
My message to you, Taylor Alison Swift, whether you see this or not, I sincerely love you. These last 11 years have met everything with your artistry, your talent, your grace and beauty, and the miraculous, beautiful love you have for everyone. If I ever got the lucky chance to come face to face with you again, I would not hesitate to tell you that you mean the world to me and you are such an inspiration to women everywhere. The world needs someone like you and I’m glad it has it. My biggest wish for you is that you are happier than you were yesterday and the day before, but not as happy as you will be tomorrow and everyday after that. You deserve everything you have been given and as a 22, going on 23 year old in a few weeks, my life has changed from the sixth grade to being a full time senior nursing student waiting to walk across a stage on May 5. And that’s because of you. How can I ever thank you?
**UPDATE**
I wrote this in August/September of 2017.
I graduated Nursing school in May 2018.
I started working as an RN in August 2018.
It’s April 2019 and my love for @taylorswift is stronger than it’s ever been and continues to grow.
I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us and her beautiful future. 💕
UPDATE!!!
It is now March 2020. I recently transitioned to a new role at another hospital on the postpartum mother infant unit. I love my job so much. My boyfriend of almost 4 years and I will soon be moving into our new apartment. I love him so much. Taylor Swift is still an angel and Lover is the best thing to have ever happened to the world. paper rings is so good
THERE IS GENUINELY NOT A BAD SONG
i actually can’t believe this album exists. it’s so well done and so creative and pure and so taylor. she just blows me away time and time again....idk why i’m even surprised anymore
the production on this album is by far her best ever and to know that she produced some songs herself????? god she’s so talented
can i just say....taylor swift is the fucking man
Albums 1-6 are great but I am SO glad Lover is what SHE owns.
guys ... her mind fucking
YES YES YES YES
WAIT IT GETS BETTER
everything that happens in those rooms is literally the narrative of those albums.
Red room (red): her man makes her jealous/maybe cheating, the Taylor from the yellow room (fearless) is out of place, lots of friends
Black attic (rep): she holes up with just her lover and private time with nobody else
Pink room (lover): she's happy and close with him but also has happy time to herself here, a balance, happiness
Blue room (1989): when her fame spiked and her life became a fishbowl of voyeurs and any lover she had entered the fishbowl alongside her
Green room (debut): he's just putting up a frame showing they just began, she just plays instruments innocently enjoying her time with her lover, no real understanding of love yet
Purple (speak now): SHE IS JUST IN IT ALONE SINGING & PLAYING PIANO BECAUSE SHE WROTE IT BY HERSELF (they also have the cute dinner and dance in here, like the love she fantasized about on this album)
Yellow (fearless): playing board games and living life upsidedown - this one is the only one im not sure about? maybe that's the era where her life literally turned upsidedown from fame???
