Ariana. Senior recital.
It is a fortunate warrior who greets death as he approaches. Many are unable, in their end, to grasp death and thus cannot grasp life.
It was a good winter.
After living alone in a tent on the Tennessee river since April, I finally moved into our new old farm.
In 3 weeks Ariana will be on the way to Pittsburgh and one of the most expensive universities in the USA. Thank God for scholarships and for her hard work earning it. (at Brevard Music Center)
My clickbait video...
Ariana opens the performance with a solo. I didn't know she was going to do it but I love this piece and I love the solo.

The Terracotta Army. The things people did and still do to deal with the uncertainty of death is amazing. The Terracotta Army is inspirational as a feat but as I took in the enormity and felt the desperation that makes a man create such a thing I couldn’t help wondering whether it had any meaning. And whether the things we do today to deal with death will be viewed in two centuries as being sincere but crazy acts of desperation.
Sorry to see you go.

"The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all." -H. L. Mencken
One year anniversary of the new townhouse. Still loving it.
Oh please.
While we are waiting for the Messiah, while we are waiting for Mahavir, your eyes will suffice, to give tired men hope.
New York, I Love You
There are entire years of high school I don’t remember. Sometimes when I’m talking to someone I see every single day it occurs to me that I can’t remember their name. But then there are the magical memories that just don’t go away. Periods of time that stay so clear that I can bring back not only the memories, but also the emotions and sensations that accompanied them. My wish is that you are able to conjure joyful sensations and experiences both past and present.
The Monkees may have been the first artificially conceived boy band but 50 years later this song still rings true.
