yeah. ok. yeah. yeah. yeah. ok
chronic pain diagnoses are all like yeah we don't know what this is or why it happens. we also don't know how to treat it. good luck out there soldier
you got symptoms syndrome. yeah itâs permanent. what is it? like⌠what, is it? well itâs a thing where this set of symptoms usually comes in a variety twelve-pack, what do you want. symptoms syndrome. donât overuse the ibuprofen
you should probably also get checked out for Overlapping Symptoms Syndrome, they often come as a two-for-one kinda deal. what can we do if you've got that too? well we can tell your to exercise. it'll probably make some of the symptoms better but others worse. yeah, worse. it's all we've got so take it or leave it.
I have never read or watched Death Note and i know the whole âbook that kills peopleâ premise but from all the shit i see on here it seems to be two teenaged boys acting out this scene over and over
I think the biggest downside to having animal ears and a tail would be trying to mask your discomfort in public like imagine trying to play it cool in customer service but your tail keeps bristling
manager: you're not wagging enough
So like when we bought the new house, right after closing my attorney gave me this checklist of things to do right away, like rekey the locks, check the carbon monoxide and fire alarms, and replace all the toilet seats.
This last one struck us as very funny because, while the toilet seat one is a reasonable reminder for those richie riches out there with new toilet seat money and a fear of lingering butt germs, we do not have that option, because our 125 year old house came equipped with a toilet so technologically advanced that we have a separate toilet adjacent wall panel to control all the options.
This toilet has features I have never even seen before, much less experienced. When you sit down on it, it makes a comforting little beep, as if to say âhello friend, iâve missed you!â It then begins to run just the tiniest bit of water to ensure that the built in bidet with full independent control over direction, intensity, and temperature will be prepared whether you opt for cold, lukewarm, or hot. Then, there is the air dry button, with its own temperature and intensity controls. It will literally both wash and dry your butt, and you will be in the utmost comfort while doing so. There is an anti-odor button, and I cannot fathom what technology THAT one deploys. There is still more.
We never would have bought this on our own, but we have quickly come to trust and love the Poopstation-9000.
Iâll note that when we moved in we immediately discovered that the prior owner had left us toilet paper, moisturizing âflushableâ wet wipes, and a toilet brush next to his recently abdicated throne. It was both extremely nice of him and an objectively wild thing for him to concern himself with.
Like, itâs very kind to leave a roll of toilet paper behind. He left six, neatly arranged so we couldnât miss them. He had it alllllll set up for us. This dude had a PASSION, and he wanted to recruit us to the cause.
I want you all to know that I have never pressed âAutoâ because I am scared that it will be his personalized, meticulously calibrated setting and it will blast my butthole directly into the stratosphere.
Oh my god. I just looked it up. I had a sense that it was expensive but I had to know. Iâm going to throw up.
This is an $899 toilet seat.
This toilet seat cost more than our brand new washing machine.
This toilet seat costs more than many weeklong cruises.
This house has no AC, a furnace that can charitably be described as an antique with four thermostats inexplicably installed to control it given that thereâs only one zone, baseboard heating, a crack between the foundation blocks that you can very literally see the backyard through, 1970s wood paneling on the entire second floor with the ugliest (very stained) bright red polyester carpet youâve ever seen, 1000 outlets so loose that you canât plug anything into them, 14 spiders per room, and an $899 toilet seat.
I need to sit down.
âŚThankfully, I have a spot.
Oh yes @kalikatze, I will simply SELL MY PREOWNED INCREDIBLY ELABORATE TOILET SEAT. Like I will just HOP ONTO FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE AND
âHey Perverts!
Once in a lifetime opportunity for someone who wants this preused, already installed and also somehow fixed into a separate wall toilet seat! Can guarantee that at least seven people I know of have rested their bare buttcheeks upon this multifaceted, multifunctional beauty! Probably way more because they used to run an entire insurance agency out of this house and when we first visited with our realtor the sunroom out front had literally four desks in it and an OSHA poster and then we discovered three more work stations and a wholeass office and there is one (1) bathroom on this floor, so. Will not fit standard toilets. This is so I can afford to kill all these spiders and furnace if I have leftovers. Seeking $898 OBO!
P.S. Must uninstall yourself because I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY DID THIS BUT IT IS PART OF THE WALLS AND POSSIBLY LOAD BEARING. Also please leave a functioning toilet in the gaping socket you have extracted my Butt Buddy from.
Local pickup only.â
Last thing about this toilet, I swear, itâs just that itâs awesome and itâs absolutely not an intended feature.
So the kids are 6 and 4 right? Theyâre little. And the toilet features only activate with that friendly little beep when you sit down, which engages I have to imagine like a pressure plate and a 3D butt LIDAR scan to make sure that youâre permitted to sit on such a lofty perch.
But again, theyâre little. If they sit alllll the way back it works, but if they lean even a little forward the weight sensor lifts up and it deactivates. But they WANT to use all the insane features of the fun toilet, so theyâll shift back again. But theyâre little and itâs probably uncomfortable to be so far back so theyâll immediately get distracted and lean forward
and in practice how this works is there will be a kid abruptly sprinting past me while iâm in the kitchen yelling âGOTTA GO POTTYYYYYYYYYâ
and then all i will hear for the next few minutes in the adjacent room is
beep beepbeep beepbeepbeep beep beep beep beepbeep beep
horny art is awesome and i think every pervert with an odd and obscure fetish who draws their own porn is a hero
âerm this artistâs style is a little weirdâŚim worried that they might draw fetish art in privateâŚâ ok awesome i hope so. i wish Michelangelo painted inflation vore Mario in the sistine chapel instead of boring church shit. who fucking cares !!!!

sorry but voltron legendary defender RULED this website for like two and a half years. you couldnât go a day here without hearing about it. i devoted my precious high school years to its study and analysis. it was wildly popular, considered extraordinarily well-written for an animated childrenâs show, and revived voltron in pop culture and the public eye. and now it has been pulled from netflix (who PRODUCED IT) and the only official way to watch it is to pay for it on youtube or amazon. and thatâs only the first six seasons. iâm so serious there is no legal way to watch seasons 7 and 8 of voltron. how did we even get here man
you could not BELIEVE the trenches for this show. the racism. the misogyny. the queerbaiting. they confirmed the main mentor figure as gay at the beginning of the second to last season and then killed his fiancĂŠ later in that same season. there were ship wars. there was assumed incest. your mileage varied on how much you were disappointed when they didnât actually turn out to be brothers. there were grooming allegations made against the fictional characters in the fictional universe of this tv show for children. the âyou know i had to do it to emâ guy got involved. the voice actors got involved. people were cancelled by 13 year olds. death threats were sent to multiple members of the production team. the red one and the blue one were frankly barely even friends by the third season. the animators went rogue. the writers felt bad that all of their teenage fans guessed every twist they wrote so they drew out conflict and added new plotlines just to keep things fresh. the main mentor guy was killed and cloned at the end of the first season and instead of acknowledging that we all knew that the writers refused to give up an inch until the end of season 6. if you believed in the âclone theoryâ then you were viciously attacked in some circles. the zuko-esque antihero character had an entire redemption arc that was trashed in the season finale when it was revealed that he had actually been committing systematic genocide the whole time. the single prominent female character was never once given an interesting character arc and was shoehorned into a romance in the last season. and then she died. one of the most popular fanfictions on ao3 was taken down and replaced with the script for the bee movie. it was awful. it was glorious. it was truly mediocre. it was the greatest wasted potential in a television series maybe ever. and itâs gone. there is no legal way to witness the entire thing anymore. there arenât even dvds of the last two seasons. itâs just over.
You have become the Voltron Legendary Defender Defender
this is the worst possible outcome on a number of levels. thank u
if voltron legendary defender had such a massive impact on this one site you wont believe the impact it had on others! (it started the anti/proship war of attrition that has been ongoing for nearly a decade and has resulted in unforeseen levels of harassment, irl stalking, doxxing, suicidebaiting, death threats, and the rise of purity politics in fandom)
What if they were October's mail club stickers? đ¤ I've never done multiple stickers for a month, but... look at them!
Part of the point of institutions having âaccommodationsâ for disabled people is appeasementâin addition to vetting (i.e., setting the requirements to get accommodations lets you decide who is âreallyâ disabled). It takes up disabled peopleâs time and energy trying to navigate all of these byzantine structures and institutions that donât seem to communicate with each otherâwhile making âabledâ people assume that âdisabled ppl get accommodations, so nothing is wrong.â
If someone raises a concern that such and such a policy is ableist or eugenicist in who it (clearly, deliberately) pushes out of a program, the answer is a cavalier or even hostile âwell obviously there are accommodationsâ
Okay. There are accommodations. Letâs say the terms of them are that you must get a letter from a specialist saying that you have a qualifying condition or difficulty. Great. So you go to your GP to get a referral to a specialist. Maybe getting to your GP is physically taxing or expensive. Maybe itâs impossible because youâre immunocompromised and no one even wears masks in doctorâs offices anymore.
Maybe you can get a remote appointment and maybe you canât. Maybe the appointment takes weeks to get. I hope youâre keeping an eye on that deadline! Maybe the appointment itself costs money you donât really have. But at least now you have it.
Okay. So now you need to get your GP to agree that you need to see a specialist. Your GP says that actually, first, theyâre going to ask you to drink more water every day and come back later and see if that wasnât the problem.
Okay. Appointment number 2. Drinking more water did not fix the problem (or waiting, or ibuprofen, or physical therapy, or whatever). So now you get the referral?
No. Now you need a blood test, to rule out that itâs caused by a vitamin deficiency. Appointments 3 and 4 are to draw blood and discuss the results. And congratulations! Youâre deficient in vitamin B whatever. So now you need a supplement. Obviously youâll need to be taking that for six months and then come back for another appointment to see if that hasnât fixed the issue. Oh, the deadline will have passed by then? Idk, I guess apply next year?
Congratulations! Itâs been six months and youâre no longer vitamin-deficient or dehydrated and youâre still disabled. NOW you get your referral to a specialist! So you take your referral and you call the specialist they referred you toâ
And they refuse to see you. They donât tell you why, they just donât think you really need to see a specialist. Idk, maybe figure it out yourself? Okay. So you call a different specialist who was also recommended to youâtheyâre not accepting new patients. OKAY!
So you call a different specialistâby the way, I hope you have a whole bunch of rheumatologists (or gastroenterologists, or neurologists &c.) in your immediate area, or else moving your search further and further afield could make transport expensive!
This specialist has this thing where they donât answer the phoneâyou leave a message and they call back. Okay. But when they call back weeks later, you donât get to the phone in time. Youâre sleeping or in another room (and, remember, disabled). So you have to call and leave another message and just kind of hope that youâre at the phone when they call you back the NEXT time. By this point itâs been about a year.
But you finally get in to see a specialist! They listen to your symptoms and say âyeah, that shouldnât be happening.â Theyâre going to try a course of treatment (btw, if it doesnât work, youâre going to have to go somewhere ELSE, because mostly doctors only want to try one thing). But in the meantime you have your â¨letter from a specialist⨠[sound of choir hitting C major chord].
I hope you had the time, energy, access, and money to do all of that! If you didnât I guess youâre just not applying for that thing after all.
Okay. You submit your letter from a specialist along with your description of the condition and your notes about how you anticipate it affecting your studies or work and what accommodations you will need and whatever else the form asks for. You get a call from someone who works at the institution in question and they talk over what you need and they say that you can get x, y, and z accommodations.
And now you have a special form with your name on it that will be sent to all relevant parties! And they'll know what you need and they'll have to give it to you! You have đaccommodationsđ [sound of choir hitting a sick F minor 7 add 9 add 13 chord]. So now weâre done! And everything is smooth sailing from here on out!
Oh. Oh you little baby. Oh you sweet summer child.
Actually, the department dealing with accommodations is like four different departments that donât communicate with each other. So somehow no one got you a badge to be able to access the ground-floor entrance of the building you need to be in (because, yep! It is *locked*!)
So you miss the first class or training or whatever, and you need to send a bunch of emails to do damage control about that AND get your badge. Who knows how long itâll take someone to get that to youâI hope you donât miss another day!
Sometime later, you contact your accommodations liaison and say âhey, can I get accommodation y that you said would be a possibility?â And they say. Huh. I donât know where the budget for that would come from? And youâre thinking... well, isnât that your job? To help me get the accommodations I need?
Nope! Their job is to help the institution not get sued without shelling out for every accommodation someone asks for by denying you everything they think they can get away with. So to get that aid worker, or ergonomic chair, or extra laptop, or extra computer application, youâre going to need to fight for it. Gee, I sure hope youâre not too exhausted from the last year of running this rat race, + the actual tasks of your job/degree, to do that!
Okay, well, still. You can get along without that thing as long as you're willing to run your health into the ground. Surely everyone has been sent your đaccommodation formđ and surely everyone has read it, so you should at least get the things specified on that.
Except someone forgot to send those out, so now a room youâre supposed to be in is up stairs / has no accessible bathroom nearby / no interpreter has been hired / whatever it is. Youâre asked if you can't try to get by without the accommodation? No alternative is offered. So you have to suck it up and struggle through this thing, or change to something else... if you donât quit or drop out.
Let's say you pass that hurdle. Now something new has come upâyou're cited for not doing [thing you can't do]. Maybe it was something that your đaccommodation formđ specified that you couldn't do, and maybe it's something that you forgot to mention.
Either way, you contact your liaison at the disability office. But be careful! The more âdifficultâ you are, the less theyâre willing to accommodate you... but the less difficult you are, the less you get accommodated... can you say âcatch 22â?
Sometime later you have to do something new, at a different site. Youâre told that everyone there knows youâre coming and will have a place for you to sit down. But no one told you that you would have to walk a mile to get there... âcanât walk long distancesâ was in your form! And when you get there you find that actually no one knew you were coming and no one knows what you need. No sight of the promised chair (bathroom / interpreter / &c.).
I guess youâd better not raise a fuss? But isnât this getting ridiculous? So you email your liaison... and they are decidedly terse with you. Without them on your side things are only going to get harder now!
Okay. Okay. Your supervisor / professer / whatever sends an email. Everyone is going to get together and do [thing you canât do]. Well youâve learned your lesson now so youâre not going to contact your liaisonâif theyâre not going to share the information they should, maybe you can do it yourself?
So you email your superior and say âI canât do x, which is outlined in my form!â They email back and maybe theyâre apologetic and maybe theyâre rude but itâs whatever. You take some measure to circumvent the thing you canât do.
Now you scope out every single building before events in that building and send emails directly to that department asking about accessibility. But in the course of trying to get accommodations directly instead of relying on your superiors and the disability office to communicate with each otherâsomeone copied in the disability office. Now your liaison hates you!
Have you dropped out yet? No? Okay.
Now you come across another requirement for the degree or the job that is another thing you canât do or can do only with extreme difficulty and/or pain. And youâre thinking well, here we go again.
You know your options are 1. drop out 2. suck it up or find an alternative on your own 3. bring it up with the organiser of the thing 4. bring it up with your disability liaison (who is only becoming more and more rude to you)âand 2, 3, and 4 require energy that is so hopelessly drained by now.
Youâre not able to focus on the thing youâre supposed to be doing because every separate activity has new forms to fill out and get approved, which requires time, energy, the eloquence to make your case, and for other people to afford you graceâby the way I hope youâve maintained optimism, a sunny disposition, and endless patience and kindness through all of this, especially if, god help you, youâre a woman and/or of colour! Or else theyâre not going to do that.
Throughout this time accommodations have been withheld as a cost-saving measure or to try to push the most disabled out of the program or else in order to punish you for being difficult, and youâre never sure which one. Your liaison and supervisors have told people about your disability who had no reason to have to know without your approval, which is illegal, but you canât raise a fuss without risking more retaliation.
Intermittently the elevator in your building has been going out and you donât know beforehand why it's out or how long it will be out for. Youâre not informed about scheduled maintenance. So over the course of months youâve been effectively trapped in places for hours. You haven't been able to pursue treatment for your actual health condition (which is a whole different byzantine nightmare) because the process of getting accommodations is so arduous.
Youâre exhausted, youâre feeling angry, bitter, hopeless, abandoned, youâre experiencing the worst health of your life, physically and/or mentally. Youâre not sure how much longer you can keep doing this.
So youâre struggling to figure out what to do and you try to vent to one of your peers. Youâre not going to be able to do x! Youâre disabled!
Oh! your peer says, politely surprised. But donât they have accommodations for that?
