Drarry AU where Draco can’t swim, but is so embarrassed by that fact that he doesn’t tell anybody (not even Harry) and one day Harry brings him to the beach together with Hermione, Ron, Pansy and Blaise and they’re all getting into the water when Harry notices that Draco is stubbornly sitting on the sand and refusing to get in the water with the excuse that he “doesn’t want to ruin his hair” and Harry is confused but lets him sit there but Pansy (of course) is not having any of that shit and she grabs his arm and literally starts dragging him into the water (despite his screaming and flailing) until he’s in water up to his waist and because he’s still screaming someone asks him what’s wrong and he goes absolutely red in the face and mumbles “I don’t know how to swim”

It’s always bothered me that Harry grew up in a household full of hate and neglect for 11 years and doesn’t seem to be affected by it at all. Like, I know he wasn’t abused or anything like that, but you’d think he’d have sustained a lot of emotional damage from the way they treated him.
