Well blow that, I'm starting a sideblog for all my personal stuff!

I also planted a native raspberry down near the letterboxes, and the last one I planted that got landscaped over the top of is still alive.
It's the most wonderful time of the year . . . For slime molds!

Last spring I planted nearly 500 trees. Today, about a year after the middle of planting, we did a headcount of the survivors. The hot dry summer coming after 3 really wet years meant that predation pressure from kangaroos and rabbits was really high. Inadequate tree guards meant I lost more trees to getting munched than I lost to being underwatered. So this spring, it'll be replacing the tree guards.
Hopefully there'll be fewer losses this year, and the roots are in better shape than the shoots and they take off as the weather warms up.
I say "sure" to mean "yes ok I understand now, let's continue", and it means that I come off as condescending sometimes.
