EDGEWATER, COLORADO, USA. EST 1858.
At the base of the Rocky Mountains, established at the beginning of Pike’s Peak Gold Rush, laid the sleepy little town of EDGEWATER. It was named so for the mothers, daughters, sons, and fathers who all stepped past the water’s edge to sift dirt and rock, seeking the promise of gold.
Thus, a town was built on the dreams of being rich, of hitting it big, pockets lined with gold, a future secured. But, as with all things, the gold dried up. The prosperity faltered, but Edgewater remained, a home all the same.
It didn’t grow much over the following years. No, the land was kept in the original families, passed down from heir to heir, ensuring Edgewater would stay that sleepy little town of gold and dreams.
But, with the passing of Gabriela Pérez, the oldest member of the town and owner of half the land it stood on, things changed.
With no will or heir apparent, the land was put to auction. Every single one of the prominent families was outbid by an anonymous buyer. For the most part, life has continued much the same in quiet little Edgewater. However, their is an aura of uneasiness. Who was this anonymous buyer? What plans do they have for their town?
Only time will tell.
